cjudy:What are those in public University doing with their phone if not for Yahoo and hookup. CU do not allow mobile phone and they often come out top ahead of other so called public University. So what's the fuss about mobile phone please? Will that policy make their products not employable or what? The policy is obviously working for them man |

Lifeinlight:Best as how? They produce the president or vice president of the country? They produce the CBN or other vital position personnel? Your graduate as best student there, someone else graduated as best student in UNN or UNILAG too. When was a competition organized between the universities best graduating student to determine which is the best? Continue to they deceive yourself. In Canada, you can decide your questions and exam done at home using the Laptop or mobile phone but in Nigeria, you’re not allow to use a mobile phone in the university and the so called religion bigots sees nothing wrong with it. 2 Likes |

Pharaohny: Funnily enough, students can manage without phones and so forth. Back in the day, when I went to school, mobile phones were non-existent (only ultra rich students had them, and not all ultra rich students), the Internet was non existent, and social media? What was that. We all survived back then. Somehow. If I wanted to contact my parents, we either went to a house with a NITEL line, or we eventially used a NITEL phonebox..loaded a card, and chatted away for several hours. When GSM came, the phones back then had no internet connectivity, there were internet cafes and Yahoo Internet Messenger , but you browsed for 2 hours max (maybe you did all night, lol).... At the end, we all survived without phones. Oyedepo is being extreme here, I'll give you that (what happens if a student is in an emergency?)....BUT his school, his rules...plus if we can all put down our phones a while, it might not hurt. Me, I even think I am too reliant on my phone and internet, when 20 years ago, I could go for one week or one month, without internet self. |

Lifeinlight:So anyone using phone is into yahoo? You see, when I say you people are backward, you argue blindly. Look at a matured man reasoning that everyone using phone in university is into yahoo. You that is using phone now, it means you’re into yahoo too. Shame…. 3 Likes |

Lifeinlight: As a graduate of a public university myself, I object to that fact. Public uni students still stufy hard, work hard, and don't do yahoo and hookup. Most of them, anyway..especially since you still have to graduate with a good enuf degree. 1 Like |

This is not 15 years ago when things will happen in that school and students will keep quiet. Everyone is now woke. If you ban phones, they have laptops and tabs so the phone ban makes no sense anymore! The students will speak about what is happening on social media. The management should wake up o! If it is not food, it is Hebron water. Let me not talk abeg! |

The public University that has the whole freedom in the world why is CU topping them? I mean CU of yesterday compare to schools since 1960s Who told you the students aren't communicating with their parents? |
