So strange thing happened to me. Picked this ride from Surulere to Okesuna shomolu. Before picking these girls, they ask the route I am taking as one of them wants to drop at stadium. Told them I’ll use stadium to connect Bajulaye. On getting to destination, they flip and said I took them to wrong place, their destination is Island. Issue flip as they drop and refused to pay. People gather and try to settle, while at it, they book another ride.
Driver came and try to find out what the argument is all about. Next he blame me for not asking them where they are going too and if they report me, they will block me. I just weak and ask them to go, no wahala.

Doubt if I can help any driver in this racket again.

They probably meant to order ride to the Okesuna close to Igbosere court. It's entirely their fault

It's not about indrive having the issues, Lagos has names of same street in multiplication and as an experienced driver, I don't expect you to leave a PU point without confirming the destination "AREA " to the passenger first.
@the bold, you're right.
I don't know if you have also seen that Alaba International Market will be pointing to Surulere. This, and the RCCG own, an experienced driver should know it's an error, so, all you have to do is ignore such ride.
But some people will still pick am and reach PU point then start dragging with the rider.
This thing no hard at all.
Some passengers will type address and when 3/4 pop up, they just click and pick one, instead of them to specify the area of the street they're going before posting it.
For that one wey Pope complained about, na him I go drag, cos that baba na legend in the hustle.

Much respect, baba.

Ha! Baba them say make we dey confirm
But it's quite simple. Type in the "full address" of where you are and where you are going.
Me, I don't too like conversation... Once I ask you "Do you have a preferred route? Or should I follow the map", I put music, let us enjoy our ride in silence biko. "I do not want to judge your best friend after only hearing your own side of the story, Amanda" cheesy

Is it not the same riders that you will try to confirm location and they will ask if you didn't see it in the map?

This thing can be annoying, you will ask them to confirm their location if it's accurate and they will tell you didn't you see my location, after getting to that location on the app, they will now tell you they can't see you only to realize the location isn't correct.

Nah so I swear for one o coz I politely asked and he said I should follow my map, wasted time and fuel come still enter bad road join am.

I don experience similar thing o, got the request from commercial avenue to folarin, the folarin she selected is the one in idi araba while the one she's going is at palm avenue, I connected bishop street straight to idi araba and she asked where am I going, I told her to the destination she put on the app, that's when she said her destination is palm avenue, I just told her this is where she put and if she wants me to take her to her correct destination, she will have to add to the fare, she started arguing saying she can't, I gave her option to either take her to the one she put on the app while she pay me completely or she drops here while she pay me a certain amount or we renegotiate to take her to her correct destination, she said she's not going to pay me anything if she's dropping where we are and she's not going to add if I take her to her correct destination, I just sensed a very serious trouble so I drove her to alakara police station, on getting there, she just changed mouth started saying we could have resolved the issue within ourselves instead of bringing to the station coz the police were on my side. Last last, she paid me extra and I made sure I collected more than enough for the stress...

TBH, part of the reason why I hate indriver, some will order to wrong destination and will expect you to take them to the right one with same fare, some will even be telling you where to pass cox someone wants to drop along that route, some will even branch supermarket, restaurant and co, and they will expect you not to talk for that delay time, some will even order you and when you get there, they will waste your time for 20mins and still expect you not to complain.

I don't know if you have experienced this, the PU is ikeja cantonment and you that you're in abule ijesha around that unilag area will be getting the trip and you will be seeing 5mins to pick up only to realize the map is pointing to somewhere within abule ijesha area but you know where ikeja cantonment is...

I can't count how many times I have educated riders not to input pick up address when they are requesting in area they aren't familiar with, they should let the app detect their location so it will be easy for drivers to locate them.

In some streets, their house number is different from what map can identify, like a rider who puts his house number as 7 but the exact place he is isn't identified has 7 on Google map, I just told the guy to not put his house address next time, he should let the map locate his PU so it will be easier for driver to drive down to the pin point

@the bold: very well, I don see am plenty.
Not only that one self. One day, I was around Ososa Avenu, bariga side and I picked a ride that showed "Abeokuta Street" as PU which I was very sceptical about before picking, cos I know like 4 Abeokuta Streets within my reach on mainland here. But the money was sooooo good that I picked it. cheesy
I immediately messaged the rider that the Abeokuta Street you are is in somolu here?
He replied fast that no oooh, it's Ikeja. Omoh, I no even waste time, I immediately cancelled with "I refuse to take this ride". grin
My mind no dey deceive me.
And that's because I've experienced it very well and if I no learn, wetin I gain? grin
If I see a PU Street name anywhere, I know the one that will likely be inaccurate at the glance of it.
Btw, some don't understand how this thing works.
With their LOCATION off on their phones, they just open app and post a ride request.
If I switch to my passenger mode, I go wait for like 30 secs before I make a ride request.
That's cos I know that the app will load in the background to pick your accurate location.
Many of them need to understand this.
It is well.

Much respect, sir.

Funny. grin grin grin
But me I never kuku jam a rider wey respond rudely when I confirm their destination to dem.
As I said, I don't ask where you're going. I just confirm the area (location) to you.
The complaints I've heard from passengers were that some drivers always ask them where they are going when it's already on the app.
What they meant was that, a driver will ask them, "where are you going?"
You see that's annoying when you as a driver can see the address on the app.
Why not confirm the area to them?
Oh, this destination says in Ipaja side/Ikotun side/Okota side/Oshodi side, etc.
Passengers will simply respond with a YES if that's the area.
If it's not, they will alert you.
This one is different from asking where your passenger is going when you can see it on your app. Just confirm the area, lobatan.
Do this before you leave the PU point. Simple.
I've been saved uncountably by doing this.
I no get strength to drag with a passenger, abeg. grin
It is well.

In many cases, those drivers would call me themselves and asking me where are you going, sir?
In my mind, I would be like like, wetin be this: but my destination is showing on your app there! angry
Well, since I'm a driver, too, I don't take it seriously, I just relate well and answer.
That's cos I understand the whole thing.
The one I dey pity gangan na indrive drivers. You accepted my order and you called me immediately. The next thing I go hear is, where are you going, sir?
WTF! Bro, If I cancel now and they remove your money, you go come here come dey rant say indrive this, indrive that. angry

Indriver riders are now fuxking annoying, someone requested me around tejuoso spar while I was in fujah in surulere, I accepted 7500 to osapo as work no really dey, the rider called me and was asking me how long, I said 5mins to 6min, in fact, it took me lesser than the mins to get there, then I started calling this rider when I got there only for her to keep rejecting my calls and she didn't cancel the ride, Omo, this thing pain me to extent I had to drop a very serious curse for her.

Imagine waiting in that market for 5mins so I can cancel the ride without being deducted for commission.

Funny enough Alaba market is close to that place. Anybody who lived and grew up around alaba knows where mosafejo is. If you know sunny bus-stop, turn into the bus stop and straight down is mosafejo. And sunny bus stop is at alaba.

Ask much as I understand Pearl and Glitchronix, ask just to avoid unnecessary drama. The point here is Indrive makes the app unfriendly for driver to call, and if one have to drive down to ask such stupid question, whats the benefit for driver? We have riders that hate such question and will always refer you to the app. If you ask me I think they are just making excuses for the rider, they should double check before booking. While it is also ok for driver to ask. The job is crazy, I’ve seen where rider told me I have trust issue, all because I ask to check her transfer and she ask if she looks like a thief. I just smile, they no deh write thief for face.

Too many issues with riders that I have been thinking how to go about the work. This is not my first time of having wrong location issues and me I use to collect my complete money because some of these riders are cold to me. How can you pick trip of 2000 from Ikeja to gbagada? Only to put Gra on the app and oduduwa is very confusing for riders, both way, crescent and street confuse them more than anything. This particular case happened for few reasons and I have made up my mind to splash the payment, but the driver gave me reason why some drivers can never do good. Even with the way drivers pick trip on indrive, they are meant to be broke forever. Ikeja to surulere is always block these days and someone will still pick 2600. As in for a trip that can last 40 mins, I’ll rather go home and look for something else to do.
