Did you submit the previews proof of payment or you paid a new one and submitted.

MyGodisAwesome:

This happened to my dad. All I did was submit proof of payment and uploaded it via webform and this rectified the issue. I will advise you do the same. Cheers!

His old biometrics was valid for 3years, I paid for a new one because he just recently renewed his passport (10years) so I wanted his visa to be valid for 10years.

IRCC didn’t acknowledge that I paid for the new one as the old biometrics valid for 3years was still showing up in his portal.

I sent several webforms with proof of new biometrics payment and that was rectified. Although my case and yours are not entirely the same, but I believe yours should be resolved if you submit proof of payment via webform aswell.

Thank you so much, I actually renew my passport maybe that is the reason why I got the biometrics request payment, I have also sent a webform in regards to the previous or old active biometrics.

After payment for a new biometric, how long did you have to wait before you got the biometric collection letter, and have you done the biometric?

Please, what criteria did you use in knowing the decision making has gotten to the month of September? Thanks 😊

Maybe your uncle is a frequent travellers and still has some valid visas on his PP if not he would have queued like many of us.

She has nothing to lose if she calls especially if she’s an Authorized Representative in your application(I imagine she is). The IRCC call center people can’t provide good enough updates on applications processed outside Canada though.
Better still your wife should send a compassionate email/webform to Lagos, Abuja and Nairobi. Explaining how the distance and separation from you negatively impacts her mental health, how settling in Canada without her spouse has been difficult blah blah.
She can go a mile further & even reach out to the MP of the ridding where she lives. They can help make inquiries on behalf of a PR’s spouse.
P.S: I personally know 3 PRs that did this and approval came within a week for their spouses.
I did same for my MIL and PPR dropped the following week after 3 month delay. All the best!

Her SOWP was refused on financial ground.

I have not applied for visit Visa. I changed my mind, I want to apply SOWP for her again.

With this new cap on sowp, do you think reapplying is going to work? VV is the only option left now.

Good morning everyone, please I want to ask a question, I applied for Canada visit visa on September 5th and went for my biometrics September 19th. There was a time I wasn’t able to log in to my ircc portal and I sent a webform December 21st, I also asked about the update on my application through that webform. I was told I will get a response within 28days but I was given a response on January 12th 2024. They told me that my application will be finalized within the shortest timeframe. my question now is that, my visit visa application is already 4 months, can I still send a webform again to ask about the update on my application? Or I should wait till January ending before I send another webform? I’ll attach a screenshot of the response I got from them. Thank you.

Hello all. Thanks I finally got the biometrics letter 2 days ago.

Apart from international passport and the appointment details, do I need to present any other documentation during biometrics collection.

Do I also need to print the biometrics collection letter and take along for the biometrics collection?

Thanks

Please out of curiosity, how does one apply for resident visa? Does having a tourist visa give you an edge or what? I also have a tourist visa. That's why I am asking. Please help with an answer thanks
Eriokanmi:
Since you've been issued a TRV already, why not just go and come back and then, apply for a resident visa? Even your job permit/express entry application (hoping you've secured a job already cos job is hard now, somehow) would be given a boost cos you've visited and come back. The process would be expedited.
Everyone should take note of this, especially the young ones who wish to emigrate. Traveling is an investment so, Invest wisely for a quick and favorable ROI. If you go now with your TRV, it's risky if you don't come back. This is a hard fact. Even those who emigrated legitimately are facing job challenges right now though they have hope which a TRV holder doesn't have. You don't want to enter canada and be counting beautiful skyscrapers and bridges naw. Rather, you want to work and enjoy a good life. They can't be compared with those who carry TRVs.

How many people would the asylum favour? Does it even still work? I visited a friend in Chicago in 2018. Inside the building were 5 Nigerians who were in their late 40s and early 50s. They told me though they were in America, their final destination was Canada. Before I left the US, my friend said they had all left for Canada via the USA border. On getting there, one was lucky while the rem 4 were held by CABSA. They all had families back home. You don't want to go through all the risks naw.

Come back, prepare well for emigration through a legit means. Even if you apply as a student, your visa approval won't be an issue cos of the experience but you also need to meet the requirements which i believe you easily can, doing it on your own. Amazingly, you would still meet those who have chosen to stay back with their TRV, still running up and down for a solution by the time you go back. When I went to school in America, some of my friends who travelled same time as me on a B1/B2 visa who chose to stay back are still in America today, still no papers, nothing. Parents are old. Some aren't even alive anymore. They only cried and cried and accepted their fate cos they couldn't come home. What a life!

I know my advice still would pass through some desperate guys' deaf ears but trust me, if you can apply via a legit means, your journey would be faster and smoother into life's comfort. Don't bother taking time it would cost you into consideration. Those who got admitted into unis after covid will be graduating this year. So, its not as far as you may have thought. Good luck!

First things first....no such thing as tourist visa.

What you are referring to as tourist visa is actually a visitor visa. Then, note that a visitor visa is a TRV..temporary resident visa.the next level is a PR..permanent resident visa

I hope this helps

It doesn’t have to be colored copies, some of us used “Black and white” copies. The guys outside the VFS would probably tell you it must be colored because they want to do business. They accept any.

Your visitor visa has no edge at all.

Apply for Express entry if you qualify or better still student visa....

The visa your holding is basically for visit
