Poju2023: Accepting the 2 has no effect on the application. Someone I know got undergraduate admissions to University of winnipeg and University of Manitoba accepted both but finally used acceptance letter from UM for application and got approved. 1 Like |

[quote author=Poju2023 post=128077637]please who knows anything about the University 1 program of University of Manitoba? I applied for my daughter to study bsc commerce but they asked her to do University one first before she would apply again after the first year into bsx commerce year 2. Please I want you or any of you followers who have the experience to help me confirm the chances of being given the bsc commerce program in year two after University 1 program.[/quote Transiting from U1 to year 2 main course is tricky especially for competitive courses. It depends on the academic performance and meeting the requirements. |

Bjteensdes24: Your OND will be entered as diploma - then you will input your start and end date for it there. Your HND will be Advance diploma, if there's that option. If not, it's still a diploma. Why because, I have HND too and In my academic credential evaluation by, OND was evaluated as diploma, while HND was Advance diploma. That's how I've been describing both since then. |

Seriously this people are playing with people's emotions, they just refused my wife's application reasons been that The purpose of her visit is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details we provided in our application - I guess this has to do with the course my wife is coming to study. maybe they didn't see career progression which is not true because, she graduated in 2021 (BSC Agric science) after which she formally decided to venture into business. Less than one year after her graduation, we officially registered our two companies in 2022 even though the business has been existing unregistered while she was in school. since then she has been managing the company. So going for a PGD course in global business management is needed to help her gain the relevant skills needed to further enhance the growth of the company since her first degree wasn't business related. So what did they mean that the purpose of her visit is not consistent? Why will they assume she will not come back after studies when we have both family and economic home ties - our 3 kids are here, our businesses are here and were well declared, official valuation reports of our factory, landed properties and survey plans, cars and also every other of our relatives and relations are all here in Nigeria. Seriously I have been thinking of this refusal since yesterday night I am not understanding it, and they didn't say anything about insufficient funds ooh. |

How easy is it to get admission into a master’s program in a Canadian university? Is the process time relatively the same thing as PGD? 2 Likes |

Iyke6505: Sorry for your wife refusal. I can understand, I've experienced same before. However, don't relent, just reapply with stronger proof. I think the VO question your wife years in business being less than 3 years. Did you explain in your SOP that your wife has been in the business for some years back and show proof to back it up? In my own case, although I started my business in 2012 and registered it in 2016 which I explained in SOP and showed my Facebook page creation date that shows 2012 to convince the VO. In my opinion, if there's proof you can show to back up your claim that your wife has been operating her business for the years you claimed, it may convince the VO. Sorry for the refusal bro. 3 Likes |

GOOD MORNING/AFTERNOON/EVENING GURUS IN THE HOUSE. PLEASE I NEED HELP. I have sent cold mails to Professors and not one single reply. I am a fall 2024 prospective thesis MSc student in supply chain management. Due to funding and scholarships I want to focus on supply chain and the integration with recent technology especially on artificial intelligence and other recent technology so I am particularly targeting professors who are using recent technology to solve supply chain problems. I sent mails in December no reply from anyone at all. Please is there anyone in the house with past success stories who has gotten scholarships and funding from cold emails who can review my emails and point me in the right direction? Thank you very much in advance. God bless you you too. |

AtoningBlood: If your school is public college/university, you don't have issue with PGWP eligibility. Those institutions affected are private institutions which are not PGWP eligible but was licensed to offer public Institutions curriculum. It refers to as Public-Private Model Institutions. Example of public colleges/Universities are UBC, UoT, Centennial College, Seneca College, Humber College etc. Example of Private-Public Colleges/Universities are University Canada West, CCTB, Alpha College etc. Just research your school on Google to confirm. sinorte:The attestation letter is another way to cap study permit applications...Canada government wants give allocation, annual quota to each province on the number of study permit application they will approve each year and it will not be equal allocations ... Once each province uses all the annual allocation they will stop to issue attestation letter .. I am sure this attestation letter may used to target specific region, university , colleges and program of study in the province.. Some control is now given to the provinces. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Enculer2: 6:53pm On Jan 23 |
Today, we announced that the Government of Canada will set an intake cap on international student permit applications to stabilize growth, for a period of two years. Details: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/news/2024/01/canada-to-stabilize-growth-and-decrease-number-of-new-international-student-permits-issued-to-approximately-360000-for-2024.html For 2024, the cap is expected to result in approximately 360,000 approved study permits, a decrease of 35% from 2023. Study permit renewals will not be impacted. Those pursuing master’s and doctoral degrees, and elementary and secondary education are not included in the cap. Current study permit holders will not be affected. To implement the cap, as of January 22, 2024, every study permit application submitted to IRCC will also require an attestation letter from a province or territory. Provinces and territories are expected to establish a process for issuing attestation letters to students by no later than March 31, 2024. In order to better align the Post-Graduation Work Permit Program, we are changing the eligibility criteria: • Starting September 1, 2024, international students who begin a study program that is part of a curriculum licensing arrangement will no longer be eligible for a postgraduation work permit upon graduation. • Graduates of master’s and other short graduate-level programs will soon be eligible to apply for a 3-year work permit. In the weeks ahead, open work permits will only be available to spouses of international students in master's and doctoral programs. The spouses of international students in other levels of study, including undergraduate and college programs, will no longer be eligible. |

You might be correct. I was supposed to submit Study Permit application yesterday for my wife who got an admission to study a 1 yr Diploma as. a Disability Support Worker, Saskatchewan Polytechnic for August 2024. With this new policy on getting a mandatory attestation letter from the province attached else the application would be returned, how long do one wait for this? Cos I already googled and made other enquiries and it seem not to be available yet. Anybody with useful information would greatly be appreciated by me and others to learn from. Thanks a lot Predator188: |
