Iyke6505: Seriously this people are playing with people's emotions, they just refused my wife's application reasons been that The purpose of her visit is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details we provided in our application - I guess this has to do with the course my wife is coming to study. maybe they didn't see career progression which is not true because, she graduated in 2021 (BSC Agric science) after which she formally decided to venture into business.
Less than one year after her graduation, we officially registered our two companies in 2022 even though the business has been existing unregistered while she was in school. since then she has been managing the company. So going for a PGD course in global business management is needed to help her gain the relevant skills needed to further enhance the growth of the company since her first degree wasn't business related.
So what did they mean that the purpose of her visit is not consistent?
Why will they assume she will not come back after studies when we have both family and economic home ties - our 3 kids are here, our businesses are here and were well declared, official valuation reports of our factory, landed properties and survey plans, cars and also every other of our relatives and relations are all here in Nigeria.
Seriously I have been thinking of this refusal since yesterday night I am not understanding it, and they didn't say anything about insufficient funds ooh. I suggest that you order for the GCMS notes to know the specific reason |

Go to your school website to check available payment options of the school first. You can only pay through the school approved methods. The covera too still has to be paid in dollars or pounds |

I’ve read some of your reviews on moving to Canada as a student. What did you study ? Are you in healthcare sector or tech. I just just got admission into pharmacy technician in Lambton sarnia campus. Do you think it’s a good course in Canada base on your experience. I’ve made research but you know internet is different from real life experience.
I’m not sure if this PPL thing affect lambton college sarnia too because PGWP is very important. If anyone has idea about that too just to be sure before proceed with my application. Thanks If your school is Private-Public Model Institution, it will affect. Check if your school is public or private on google then confirm the school DLI number and PGWP eligibility of the school on IRCC website. Or you contact your school for clarification. 1 Like 1 Share |

Most of you only believe in your pastor that’s why people who live here don’t come to share their experiences. I am way better in Nigeria than here I have lived here for 3 years and just waiting for few things and moved back home or move to the US and come here once a while. You won’t understand. Yeah everyone situation isn’t the same , you can say nigeria is not safe but people get killed here too, students get shot to death, people die everyday. If you have something serious going for you in Nigeria or you think earning 3000 dollars a month after tax here is better and after expenses you are left with just about 400 dollars, then make your choice. I work as a service technician in a tech company earning 24 cad per hour . I studied here, working full time now, monthly earnings supposed to be 3840 cad , after tax and some deductions like Ei , employment insurance incase of job loss, CPP , and other deductions, I am left with a little above 3100 cad. After expenses only about 400 dollars left . Car insurance here a month goes from between 150 to 300 dollars or even more. Rent $2400 add other bills.
I own houses back home with tenants before I came here , here if I fail to go to work a day I and my family will be kicked out of the apartment. The struggle we go through here isn’t worth it for us. We are not struggling before coming here. It all depends on your situation before leaving Nigeria. I have a thriving business in Nigeria, I thought I would be able to make a lot more money which was why I and my family made the move but was disappointed and sharing this with you is for you to either learn before making your own decisions but most Nigerians will never learn. We haven’t recovered a dime we spent coming here due to huge bills and was already thinking of moving to the US once we get what we are waiting for. It cost is roughly 55 million moving my family here and that was a great mistake we made and only hoping for the best now.
Thank you for you contribution. As much as a lot of people here may see the negativity in this, myself on the other hand do not. I am taking away this information to be better prepared for the road ahead. As other people have mentioned, different people have different path to life and i do believe that as well. I have many friends that relocated and are doing well, while others, not so well. But I want to let you know that i appreciate your contribution and also see some truth in what you've said. The new rule will apply to your application, no work permit for you if your spouse is going for undergraduate program, diploma or certificate program except if your spouse is a master or PhD student. Currently, as said by Mac Miller, processing of study permit will be paused till March 31st to enable provinces to build a process for issuance of attestation letter. Note that this letter must be included in study permit application. So, no study permit application for now till march 31st It depends on the level of studies. There are exempted categories. And I read diploma graduate can now apply for 3 years work permit after graduation do you think that will also make spouse the SOWP eligible? Which level of study are you filing study permit application for? Please check if yours is in the exempted category |

Bros, you are a low income earner. What you earn is even lower than what PSWs earn in Ontario cleaning yansh. So you want to use service technician job to build mansions? Or you expected that when you get to Canada they will make you their central bank governor? You even have $400 after expenses, that's more than 400k naira ( 1cad = 1026 naira) as at today. Are you telling me that service technicians in Lagos doing the same job you are doing get up to 400k a month after expenses in Lagos? If you have built houses in Nigeria, then you didn't build it doing service technician work. I don't know why some of you think that once you land abroad, you become a millionaire and when it doesn't happen, you start ranting like somebody send you message.
Everybody will have different experiences based on several factors like location, occupation, work experience etc. I'm a citizen living in Ontario. I had to go back to school to pursue a career in an in demand field. Once I overcame the initial entry level struggle and got my first job and had some experience to showcase at interviews, boy o boy, every year has been better than the previous year. I have changed jobs 3 times in 5 years and anytime I move to another job, i draw at least 35% more money. So My brother, don't use your experience to paint everybody, yours is unique to you. Some will be high earners, some will be middle earners while some will be low income earners so there is no big deal about your experience
Anybody who has sense knows that Canada is not heaven and there are challenges except their intention is to become overnight millionaires once they land like you thought, in that case na dem sabi.
You are greedy. People who are doing okay in Nigeria that came here came due to other factors, money was not on top of their list cos I was in that category but you despite your houses and thriving businesses came with the mindset of making millions and now you are ranting so I don't have sympathy for people like you as you are one of the reasons Nigeria has become nonsense due to greedy people.
Rightly said. G R E E D. Someone who has several houses in Nigeria shouldn't expect heaven of billionaires in Canada. People leaving for Canada just want basic life that they ought to have to lived in thier motherland, which they never had due to lack of political connection or bad governance. If you are doing well in naija stay, do not reduce slots for the upcoming japarians. 4 Likes |

You youths have no respect for elders, you just come online behind the keys to disrespect your elders, you must be one of the corrupt politician spoilt child I guess if you come abroad not for betterment of your life or improvement I didn’t run from my country for security concerns no one is after me like you. I came to do much better than I was you coward calling someone you don’t even know their life greedy. I am not like you. Mind you I don’t even have to work my whole life in Nigeria before I left , rental earning alone is enough for me to feed my family. I work hard for mine and if I said my current earnings is not matching the bills here, I know what I am saying. If you call 24cad per hour low wage in this current Ontario then you I guess you are jobless. You will finish your course and will be in the labour market real soon and see how it goes idiot. Your father’s PSW company paying that amount how many psw earns 18cad an hour here in Ontario you fool or you think I don’t know people doing that job . When many people who have been working here for 10 years are still on 27 to 29 per hour except medical doctors and few others. The reason I'm responding to you is to once again make the point for Nigerians who are trying to migrate before the make mistake like you and come here next 3 years to start ranting. I don't give a damn about you, no be me bring you come Canada na your greed. You are doing well in Nigeria. You have houses in which the rent alone can feed your family yet you came to Canada to do better. The first thing you ask yourself before you even think of applying for visa is what is my motivation to leave my comfort zone and move to an unknown country? If your motivation is making more money than you make in Nigeria, the question now becomes how? What skills are my taking to the new country? Is the skill in high demand? How much does it pay? What is the unemployment rate in that field? What is the cost of living in areas I have the highest chances of getting a job? After looking at current job vacancies, do I have 80% of those skills and experience? If I don't have them now, what is the plan to get them? and other important questions. If the answers are not satisfactory, you abort mission, it is not a do or die. If money is not the top motivation then the questions and research will be different. Even if the answers are satisfactory and you do everything right, you also have to factor in the fact that there is no 100% guarantees in life and prepare your mind for that in case. There is no country in the world where everybody is rich. These are the questions any reasonable person would ask themselves and research before applying for a visa. But no, these days people just wake up and decide to travel cos they saw their neighbor traveled and is doing well. The question is do you have the same profile like him? When they travel carelessly and fail, they now come online like the gentleman above to try to label all of us as suffering abroad. They neglect their own bad judgment and reality but try to make it look like the country failed them. I'm sorry my oga at the top but leaving Nigeria was my best ever decision, it has paid off for me even more than I expected but I didn't relocate carelessly. My brother, I'm not saying you are lying, your experiences are valid but to correct you, we Nigerians in Canada are not all in the same situation. If I were you, I will book the next available flight and return to Nigeria after all the rent from your houses in Nigeria can feed your family. There is no point getting depressed or disappointed in another man's country when you are better off in Nigeria. 18 Likes 3 Shares |

By the way, now that Canada is putting a cap on people coming into their country, what that means is that visas are going to be harder to get. Even if your application is tight with all the POF and home ties, you can still be denied based on quota. This has made it more important to evaluate your motivations carefully before embarking on traveling. If you are better off in Nigeria, then stay back. Don't go and occupy space for genuine Nigerians who actually will benefit from relocating only to come back 3 years later ranting how you were better off in Nigeria. That would be unpatriotic and greedy. Relocation is not for everyone, get your motivations right. 13 Likes 1 Share |

I think you should reapply to same school and same program to avoid reapplying for new study permit, you will only need to send the new offer letter to IRCC via webform. If you want to change your school, you will have to apply for new study permit with the new offer letter from the school because tuition can't be the same. |

If your school is public college/university, you don't have issue with PGWP eligibility. Those institutions affected are private institutions which are not PGWP eligible but was licensed to offer public Institutions curriculum. It refers to as Public-Private Model Institutions. Example of public colleges/Universities are UBC, UoT, Centennial College, Seneca College, Humber College etc. Example of Private-Public Colleges/Universities are University Canada West, CCTB, Alpha College etc. Just research your school on Google to confirm.
