I've had very influential men ask me to become their employee and I turned them down.. I've had men who walk the corridors of power literally beg that I join their workforce but I turned them down. I only do contracts for them. Or freelance. No employment. These dubious folks are Machiavellians who treat employees badly. Once they know you are very skilled in many areas, they want you on their staff so they can milk you dry. Contract only. Whether you are a senator or HOR member, contract only. That way I get my exact bargain financially without suffering the indignity which most of them put their staff through. I've seen celebrated media aides go through shit. I've seen aides of powerful men worth billions take paltry loans to keep up appearances. Imagine being famous and the pressure to maintain the front due to working for an uber rich man. Can't be me. Let my #600,000 be exactly it. Let my #2.5 million be exactly that. Let my #1 be exactly it. Just two people doing business, not subordinates and overlords. That way you can't disrespect me. I don't need that. I've insisted on this for years and some call me proud. Whatever. 5 Likes 1 Share |

DissTroy:Interestingly, I was chatting with some folks that said the main reason they left Nigeria was because of those behavior of many employers not wanting to pay salary when due. I was shocked at the many big cooperations owing salary. Nigeria labour laws need to be revamped. They talked about the not so big employers even buying big houses and new luxury SUVs while their employees where owed months of salary. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Slytiger: When I did the regular 9 to 5, an influential man I once worked with one month tried to undercut me by questioning my workrate for that month. This is someone who praises me in the media, to other employees, friends and associates alike as his right-hand man with incredible work-rate. Coincidentally, I had planned months ahead to leave paid employment that same month. When he said so in his car - it was a convoy but I rode with him always, I let him finish. I wasn't going to talk back to him with the driver present. We got to our destination then I asked everyone to give us privacy. I laid it out to him, telling him with evidence my crazy work rate and how I was doing even more than the scope of my job description. Few days later, I tendered my registration. He was shocked and asked to increase the pay. I told him I wanted to take on an advanced tech course so needed the time away so he grudgingly let me go. He eventually paid as I didn't ask. Probably he was worried I would go to the media. He paid same day. In a year, I had started my tech agency and he kept connecting. Guess what? He's one of the clients I signed. From boss to client. And he pays what I ask for my services regularly. He still trusts me more than his own kids with some details, and I still handle the most sensitive documents and information for him. Few days ago, I did a government pitch deck for his company, and that's with a lot of "please" as I was busy. Sometimes you have to dare these people. They know what they are doing. Remove the hold they have on you and only then would you truly enjoy the relationship. Your senator who doles out millions as gifts probably never gifts his aides #50,000 as bonuses. Just regular salaries. 4 Likes |

God forbid! *spits* I dislike debtors, but when it comes to not paying for goods and services received; this class of scums are special. They would have a special place in hell. It is just wickedness 2 Likes 1 Share |

I once said to render services in Nigeria is a lot of stress . Look at that useless woman not paying for services rendered . If her husband had won , this wicked behavior would have continued . Na them Dey go church pass and they are horrible debtors . In Nigeria , sell a product and don’t give credits ! That is your only clear path to stress free business life . That’s why I love igbos . I have experienced this thing too many times that it hurts just reading this . USELESS debtors including that Minister of works ! 2 Likes 1 Share |

Slytiger:For clarity, Peter Obi's daughter worked as a civil servant in a private school in Lagos. She retired shortly after Pete Obi won LP presidential primary for security reason. I made this clarification so that those that doesn't know would not think she was on Lagos state civil service payroll, as Slytiger want to portray here. |

Well, I don't agree with you. I went through the chats and I am wowed by the civility with which she communicated. She was building a company. She was paying the guy from her personal money. And for someone who had worked with her for months, he should have been more understanding. She wasn't rude or condescending in her words. She only dared the guy to do what he threatened after she complained of his incessant messages and he dared to escalate her not paying. The woman was pregnant and clearly complained about some lapses in his delivery and asked that he owned up. Well, he has gotten his money but has succeeded in chasing people away from working with him. Who wants their chats posted online when there's conflict? His brand has become one to be avoided. And no matter how talented you are, if people notice that you can embarrass them publicly, they'll avoid you. Even the richest are sometimes broke. Wisdom no matter how long it takes will win you the heart of kings. Money is no t everything. Embarrassing someone online who owes you is not wise. He will finish the money in no time but have terminated a bridge forever. It isn't worth it. Choose a good name over money--everytime. Live in such a way that you owe no one anything. Let them owe you instead. You don't need to be even with anyone. frankson1: |

Bobloco:We go help you tell them. Nobody is talking about his father, was his mother's bride price even paid? His family publicly endorsed Sanwo, why? Tinubu, Fasola and SÃ nwo don't insult Yorubas, they have Yoruba names and speak Yoruba fluently. I have NEVER heard for once where Chinedu ever comment on anything about Anambra, why? No be Igbo women get children again. |

janeedema: Jane Edema, after going through the chats you should have also applauded the guy's patience. Even when he was not paid, he still took notes of and accepted to improve in areas she wanted changes. He even apologised and promised to improve. That guy was very understanding with her and believed every word she told him. Besides, the guy shouldn't concern himself about what she was building and where she was paying him from. His business was to get the job done and get his pay afterwards. She complained because the guy was constantly reminding her but no one and you don't bother think about what the guy would have been going through too..like he couldn't have had financial issues. This is never true. If he's good at what he does, he'd get more gigs and grow bigger. His case won't be the first. It wouldn't have come to this if she hadn't made a infuriating comment and who knows, the guy wouldn't have gotten his money. It was his RIGHT to have requested to be paid for services rendered. What bridge did he terminate if the guy is good, he'd go on to be bigger and better. His sin was reminding her of her debts. Ify Gbadebo should have lived in such a way that she owed no one anything. It was very easy for you to write all these because you've never been in a financial situation where you needed money and knowing that you're being owed by someone or people. You don't know how wicked some rich people are. How manipulative and controlling they can be especially when they know you can't do anything to them or they falsely believe that your life or living is dependent on them. There's always resentment from staffs in a company or organisation if at the end of the month they don't get paid. A LABOURER IS WORTHY OF HIS WAGES 2 Likes 1 Share |

DissTroy: You're very on point at the bolded. These people would erroneously think that your life is Ãn their hands and you're either nothing or would fail without them. Most of them, while you're working your a$$ out, they're going on vacations in as many countries they can go at a period with the money they were supposed to use to pay their staffs and the crazy part is, they become angry when you ask for it. Las las, most of our CEOs are like the politicians because they don't care about your well being. 1 Like 1 Share |

duduade:He works for Dollars and you can see it. He has being demanding since 2020. He went broke on top of his money? Did you read where he said people agreed to pay but he said only the debtor or her family can pay him and he wants only his exact money? If he is broke, he should have dropped his account for donations. Did you criticize the woman owing for 4 years? Thank God say na Igbo man.
