No. I wasn’t asked to show any cash. It’s advisable to have money on your card/acc and to be able to show it if required. Also, it’s more of a cashless society. collarfreak: |

Please what to know what I can do differently if I choose to reapply. I applied for a visitor’s visa for six months to the UK. Of which my husband was going to fully sponsor as we stated that our reason for my application is to spend our honeymoon in the UK since we haven’t had time due to work. My husband already has a visa. Which other documents can we attach because we want to reapply this is an attachment of the officer’s response for refusal |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Cashmadam: 10:16am On Jan 27 |
Maliaka: Sorry about the refusal. My observations: 1. Your income is low. 2. The case worker did not believe you are genuinely married 3. The case worker did not think you have sufficient ties to Nigeria 4. You did not demonstrate how your income supports your cost of living You have a lot of work to do. In my humble opinion, don't rush to reapply. If you genuinely want to travel for your honeymoon, travel to another Country. There are 194 Countries you can choose from. Perharps others can help. 1 Like |

Ola25363:Forget about reapplying. His income is too low. If for any reason you can’t support him financially as you stated when he gets to the Uk, then he will recourse to public funds. He has no money of his own. Savings of 450k is all he has with a very paltry sum self employment wage. Graduation is not a do or die affair that he must attend. He can watch over zoom or ms teams and this ECO is not willing to take chances on such an individual as high chances of claiming asylum when he gets here. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 10:46am On Jan 27 |
Maliaka:Very low salary Then you hid your own bank statement and did not give them a picture of your OWN financial circumstances. Also people that are married truly would be able to provide other proofs apart from marriage certificate |

I have been booked for biometrics to UK at Ikeja office for tomorrow. I made the booking on Friday and I am yet to get a payment confirmation email with my appointment time. The TLS portal still shows my appointment time for tomorrow but I am yet to get an email in my inbox or spam/junk folder Pls what do you advise? Should I just show up at the center without the email printout of the appointment letter? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by sanyaolurilwan(m): 3:46pm On Jan 28 |
Please check your spam/junk messages if it's there, if not then maybe you print that page that shows your time and take it along, they have the list with them, they only need a paper they can sign on. Adedave: |

Sorry about this. Your brother’s income was too low during the first application. Basically 50k a month. And then he reapplied and his income is even lower; 20k. Apologies but how is this possible? Is he a student? The first time he has 400k in savings and now it’s depleted even further. Someone like that going to the UK is a massive flight risk. There’s no way he won’t be tempted to abscond or they may think you’re bringing him over to work for you. It just doesn’t ring authentic. He didn’t establish what he does for a living. I noticed he quickly registered a business before applying but that’s not sufficient without transactions, a proper explanation. He’s too young to be idle and unable to explain and present himself properly. He’s not a retiree. Apologies but your brother is a huge flight risk. Let him get his life in order- get a good job, build a sustainable business and travel to other countries first and then come back to apply in a year or two. Stop going back unprepared; he’ll keep getting rejections. Ola25363: |

Maliaka: Copy of your husband’s visa Copy of your marriage license Birth certificate of your kids Bank statement of your husband showing that he has enough funds available for your stay in the UK. Your employment letter and bank statement: even though your husband is going to sponsor you, it’s good for you to include your own employment letter and bank statement too. This will show that you have a job, which will make you return to Nigeria. Letter from your husband stating that he will fully sponsor the vacation trip. Include copy of your real estate property, if you guys have any. Family photos Don’t forget to disclose previous visa refusals. 3 Likes |

Sweetjam: If you are a Nigerian national with a valid British visa and intend to travel between the United Kingdom and Nigeria via Air France or KLM, you will need transit or shengen visa to finalize your trip. 1 Like |

Hello people, I had a 6 months uk visa in 2023, used it and visited for a couple of weeks, 2022 the same thing, got 6 months visa, also used it to visit for a couple of weeks. based on visa cost and all, I think I want to apply for ten years visa. do you guys think I am qualified for it? can one go from 6 months visa to 10 years visa? I read somewhere a while back that after 6 months, the next one you're eligible for is 2 years, but i saw a post here where one guy said he did 6 months and then did 5 years, so I'm wondering if i can do 10 years. I do have a valid ten year canada visa(unused) in my new passport and an about to expire 2 year US visa(which i never used) in my old passport, I have also had previous expired used Us visa's. Also can i use pay stub in place of account statement? Thanks in advance for your advice. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Cashmadam: 11:58am On Jan 30 |
comfort207: You can apply for 10 years. I believe you will get it. Your US and Canadian visas will help greatly. I suggest you present your account statement for 6 months. |
