safarigirl: Oma Akatugba is really empty as long as the game is concerned. He is just a camera man trynna force his way into journalism. Him no sabi anything and I feel he is trynna talk down on Nwabali in order to pave way for Okoye. That guy isn’t sincere. 14 Likes 1 Share |

Goke7: Man obviously has players he's partial towards and wants to platform, but there are better ways to go about it than propping Uzoho. Apparently, he's trying to keep a door open for Okoye's return, but Nwabali doing well will not stop Okoye's return. We should be looking for how to throw Uzoho away patapata, then maybe have Nwabali as #1 and Okoye as his second. We once had Enyeama and Ejide as our first and second choice goalies, we can handle two good keepers and some may say that is best for the team. We should not be trying to put powder on a third choice keeper in some obscure Cypriot league. Uzoho has been horrendous over the last years. It's time for an unceremonious retirement. 4 Likes 1 Share |

ChrisKels: It is not Nwabali blocking Okoye, it is Uzoho and his mediocrity. Except Uzoho has a sugar daddy in NFF, I don't see how Nwabali claiming the #1 shirt will dent Okoye's chances with the team. 2 Likes 1 Share |

safarigirl: Oma is fighting Nwabali for that number one spot. Uzoho isn’t in the picture anymore because everyone has lost confidence in him, then club wise, Okoye is ahead of them all. He is using Uzoho to downgrade Nwabali so that Nwabali would not consolidate on his position as the number one or first choice goalie. He wants that position open till Okoye returns to take it. Oma doesn’t want Okoye to return as a second fiddle to anyone, but as the numero uno. In this situation, the threat is Nwabali, not Uzoho. |

safarigirl: and that has been the bane of our national team where these sports analysts will be promoting players who are not better than what the coach knows, imagine keshi did not insist on players like mba, oboabona, emenike and co. I remembered how they crucified keshi on top lke uche matter |

Anyway, with Senegal out, Nigeria now has the undisputed best defense in the competition. We remain the only team to have conceded one goal. If we take this form to the finals, and Nwabali is fit, we could get a Golden glove winner in this tournament. At least if we no get top scorer, make we take top saver. 3 Likes 1 Share |

ChrisKels: Where the Okoye sef? Wetin make he no come this AFCON? Anybody wey no dey no dey, eze gawa eze onochie. The game is the game. If he wanted the #1 shirt so bad, he should have been available. In his absence, Nwabali stepped up and deserves. Oma is busy talking about how the defense has covered for Nwabali. That is the same defence that was shambolic with Uzoho between the sticks. Nwabali's confidence has been instilled in the defenders, and he makes their jobs easy by clearing his line and distributing properly. Two things Uzoho cannot do. 4 Likes 1 Share |

safarigirl: This question should be directed to Oma. That said, Okoye’s decision not to come is a win win situation for us because it has given us the opportunity to assess Nwabali and also placed us in a position to have a quality back up in a player who is now a regular starter in the Serie A. |

My theory on why nations that grabs 9 points at afcon group stage tend to do poorly in the knockout stage is that,..... doing well in the group stage means people will heep unnecessary expectations on you, this make players tense and cause slip ups.... Another thing is that performing excellently by other teams means you are marked out by your knockout opponents, they will see you as a big hurdle and clearly device strategies to bring u down.. That why it is better to build momentum bit by bit from the group stage and increase it in the knockout....if u observed naija got 9 point last afcon, but got kicked out by Tunisia, same with Senegal.....both nations in last afcon finals performed poorly in the group stage |

ChrisKels:I watched all Okoye matches and kudos to him for working hard to become Udinese number one but he is not better than Nwabali. I can stake it Okoye is not better than Christian Nwoke,Osayi Kingdom of NPFL though many wouldn't agreed with question, why NPFL keepers over serial A keeper but that's the fact talking about characteristics of solid keeper. Big question,Oma Akatugba should tell us a super eagles match that Okoye looked so convincing. 3 Likes |

The Bees are weighing up multiple approaches for Frank Onyeka, one of Thomas Frank's backups. Per The Standard, Girona, Everton and Fulham are all after the Nigeria international. Reims are another club who are showing strong interest in securing Onyeka this winter. The 26-year-old is currently at AFCON, with Brentford considering loaning him out for the rest of the season. #copied 1 Like 1 Share |
