Please note that a DC SPD cannot protect you from a direct strike but rather the EMI derivative of the lightning strike at some distance close to you.

Myself50:
Good evening house, this dc spd, can they protect the inverter when thunder strikes? Assuming the house does not have thunder arrestor.

Get a 16mm2 guage wire and connect all the solar panels in parallel since it is a PWM controller

A 12V panel is already 18V Vmp, which will charge your batteries just fine; at 24V, you will be losing a ton of power due to higher potential differences.
JoeSef0:
My bosses here, I have a question

5 12v 180w solar panels to be connected in series to get 24v
How'd you go about the connection
Remember you need 2 panel's to make 24v.
The system is a 12v (inverter and battery) charge controller is an automatic (12-48v) 60a
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by olopan(m): 5:54am On Jan 31
Would you be willing to sell the equipment separately?

I am interested in the inverter only.

tipsy242:
I have a 1kva inverter and 220mah Mpower Tubular fairly used battery for sale (bought newly January 2022). Selling price is 130k (30k Inverter and 100k battery). Reason for sale is because I'm getting an upgraded inverter setup with two identical batteries and i was advised not to use two new batteries with used one.
Kindly WhatsApp +2348104591211 if interested.

Boss, what can then protect one from direct strike?

Does pv attract lightening?

Thanks bro. The thing is i upgraded my panels yesterday.. 6pieces 580w solar panel. 2 panels connected in series into 3 places. Thats 2_2_2 in series, all paralled together. I just put it under heavy load. My growatt charge controller displayed 2730watts pv input.. 18amps pv and 90v pv. Its a 48v inverter... 4 pieces 12v LA battery is series..
Each panel 51v
13amps
580w. Just wanted to be sure its working fine. Under the heavy load, pv input amps stays at 18amps, While batt says 43amps. Was thinking the pv amps would get to 30amps and above or something. I should just believe everything is fine since I'm getting 2730watts from 3480w panel on heavy load.

As early as when does your CC starts charging and when does it stop charging based on this your 2s3p configuration?

Kool temper, I be user no be dealer. Not all inverter users can buy premium.
I buy and use inverters based on how much it costs to provide service for me. If I buy an inverter for 600k and it lasts 6 years and I buy another one for 200k and it lasts 2 years, then I cannot see the superiority of one over the other. From the business end, I will go for the 200k one and preserve my cash flow.
That is me sha.

Hi everyone.
What type of charge controller will be best to use for 5* 350w solar panels on a 24v system (2 220ah tubular batteries) charge controller should be 120k or below (in price) and also the ideal connection should be discussed

Also what brand of inverter will be suggested (min 2kva)
Thanks.

Or if i go for the 80a mppt CC on the SMS sunmate Hybrid inverter i used for my previous installation. Will that be enough to handle the job?

You be better business man, I agree with you on this, but on the other side, just go for 600k own, because after 2 years that 200k inverter go don turn to 380k.

I already used an 8mm wires to run the solar into the house, does it mean I'll change that to 16mm or i just need to change the wire i used in connecting the panels together on the roof?

If you have the means, get another cable to supplement the existing one from the panels to the charge controller.

This is so you don't lose your current as heat due to cable size.

A lightning arrestor or trident install at the highest point on a property to be protected with a very low path of resistance to the ground.

This is to allow for a point where lightning can go instead of through your house as that one nah fire or die sef

Ideally, PV shouldn't but if it is grounded, with no lightning arrestor close by, it could be an attractor of lightning at times.

I got a Yohako a few months back on an emergency basis. doing fine so far. I however have an habit of not stressing my inverters pass 50% of rated capacity on daily usage. its still early days yet to comment on the components surviving wear and tear

Good morning. Pls, how many kva did you buy? Also, is it hybrid or the normal one? Lastly, do you know if it can take fridge and washing machine?

the earliest I've checked it is 8am in the morning...and it started charging, tho with about 500watts from the pv.

Honestly can't say. I have not reviewed or used them personally. The batteries are really cheap and i doubt it is of good quality or complete spec.

Ok Sir

Incorrect.. 16s and 17s

Multiply the voltages by the ah of the battery and you ll see the difference between both batteries in watts

48v 200 ah =9600 watts

51.2v 200ah= 10,240 watts

Herein lies your difference.
