Edo: PDP Clears 10 Aspirants For Gubernatorial Primary by Poisonousman: 2:39pm On Jan 31
Ahead of the September 21 Edo State governorship election, the Peoples Democratic Party has cleared its 10 aspirants to participate in the party’s primary election scheduled for February 22.

One of the 10 aspirants will emerge as the party’s candidate or flag bearer for the main election on September 21.

Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress has raked in N650m from the sale of Nomination and Expression of Interest forms to 13 aspirants.

The PUNCH learnt that all efforts by the APC to reduce its governorship aspirants to six failed as 13 persons eventually bought the forms.

If Labour party has a good candidate, government might change..

In the PDP'S camp, there will be issues from the primary election to the main election, PHILIP SHUABI might decamp to Labour party if he doesn't get the primary ticket of the PDP

Edo sets the pace for other states, it was evident in the last general elections and the last election that brought back Obaseki, the Labour Party would win if they field a popular and credible candidate.
Nobody should think that Shaibu would decamp to LP and Garner the sympathy of electorates, Obaseki is a master strategists who also has a stake in LP.

Not true bro. It shows you are truly not on ground. Labour party doesn't have the clout to win governship in Edo for isolated election. The contest is still between PDP and APC. This election is between the bigger spender
