I bought a rated 5.5 KVA 24v to serve a very unique need. It is not hybrid and seems light in weight for the said capacity. I wanted an inverter to carry my ACsx2 plus other domestic load during festivities when the whole house is full and there are many things going on at the same time. Obviously that will include fridge, washing machine and 1HP pumping machine. It has served the purpose well with no issues. I also use it a few times to charge my system with the national grid as I found it less sensitive to voltage fluctuations. ( I use a Servo stabilizer before inputting to the inverter) For my regular use I have a 3.5kva 24v Foresolar inverter. Can carry fridge and washing machine but NOT the pumping machine with other loads. adibo: 1 Like |

I have 8 300w panels for my 48v system but my charge controller rarely reads above 400w. What connection should I do for the panels? |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by adrusa: 5:02pm On Jan 31 |
Alienwarfare: What charge controller do you have? How are your panels stringed and connected? What is the state of your battery when you wake up in the morning? Do you use NEPA to charge your batteries? A yield of 400W from a 2400W array is terrible. But, it may be perfectly normal if your battery is usually charged with NEPA and is full most of the time. |

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by kristien4(m): 5:55pm On Jan 31 |
Can an mppt charge controller output more amps than the connected solar panels can provide?. Like a charge contoller outputing 60amps from a 40amps or 30amps solar panel setup?? |

adrusa: What charge controller do you have? Felicity mppt 80a How are your panels stringed and connected? The formal installer did 2 series to 4 parallel but I just changed it to 4 series to 2 parallel What is the state of your battery when you wake up in the morning? Usually dead Do you use NEPA to charge your batteries? Yes when there is light but when there is no light and sun is shining bright it will still die 1 Like |

No one here seems to mention the smart series of charge controllers from Demuda. Their charge controllers look very decent plus they are smart, have lithium profile and can be connected remotely via their app and the possibility of iOT I'd like to think. I presently use one of their small PWM and I am presently expecting a 60A MPPT. |

What could be the issue here I noticed whenever I'm on inverter and I'm using my phone while plugged in, the phone touch start malfunctioning, even my laptop trackpad and touch also malfunction when plugged in on inverter.. this doesn't happen on gen or NEPA. Abeg who don experience this thing b4 PS: I just noticed if i turn off extension socket, the socket light doesn't go off totally until i unplug the socket |

Start by checking your neutral connection. JoeSef0: |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by durodee(m): 7:41pm On Jan 31 |
Do you use the same socket for your equipment when on Nepa or inverter or do you have a seperate setup for your inverter? If a seperate setup check your connections and earthing. There is a bridge of wire somewhere. JoeSef0: |

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by ewizard1: 8:03pm On Jan 31 |
kristien4:Possible! Charge Controller can output 50v @ 60A if Solar panels gives 75v @ 40Amps. Same power. |

HAS anyone patronised techland. I got the contact here on this thread a long time ago but because no recommendations i didnt use them |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by adrusa: 8:47pm On Jan 31 |
Alienwarfare: Sounds like you do have a serious issue then. All these answers checked out well. You should certainly get more than what you are getting. You need someone truly knowledgeable to help you review the installation. One other quick thing that you can check is if your Charge controller is set to limit the charging current. |

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by mctfopt: 1:03am On Feb 01 |
Adeolatunde: There is a seller here that sells variable output voltage charger here, Valto. https://www.nairaland.com/390522/solar-energy-complement-fta/1131#110684591 But if you don't like the charger due to cost or availability, you can buy a normal charger and get a variable DC to DC buck converter like this type from Konga with image attached below that can take a DC input (say a normal 12v charger's output) as input with variable DC output with you can use to do top balancing 1 Like
