004gist: You dont need any agent. The internet is there now to see how everything is in a country before you leave. Whats the job market like, how easy is it to transition to a permanent resident after my studies. What skills are in demand where I am going. What language do they speak and can I start learning it. All these can be done without any agent. 9 Likes 2 Shares |

Scholace: I am only advising people not to get deceived by what they see online or hear. Experience is the best teacher. That your friend that Japa yesterday showing u fine fine pictures you might not know the real picture. Again anyone telling u he or she travels not necessarily for job might be a very high class person in Nigeria. That have investment spinning millions for him or her each month. Like where I stay I pay 1.5 million in a month. Just a small space. Other expensive places goes time two of that amount. Not to talk about tax, they tax your income, send council tax to you every three month, send you gas bills, heat, bills etc converting this in naira every month is not easy. So one primary reason most people travel is to sustain their self through jobs and by extension give their children good healthcare, security.... 1 Like |

Bigajeff:my advise for intending japarians, is just keep your money in dollars. Then I was saving in naira, when money was money in Nigeria. Some few Millions in your account looked like a big deal. Then I saw naira moved from 320 to 560. I quickly bought dollars to save the value, when I travelled, dollar was about 800. Imagine I didn't save in dorm account. Compared to now. But please Nigeria has never been easy. When I wanted to travel, 320 to 560 was almost double, it pained me but I summoned courage. Please save a little. My advice is for those in Nigeria. Forget study route, go through PR route. If countries offering PR route are expensive go to the carribeans, go to St Kitts. Just find any country whether in Europe or carribeans or at worst in Africa that you can at least have a work permit. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Animegirl: So sorry about that it is so exhausting. I had to renew the hosting plan of my website for over 100k, na cry remain wey I no cry coz getting 100k in this country legitimately isn't easy at all. Honestly those who have found their way out of this country should thank their God. It has never been this bad in the history of this country. 2 Likes |

When I hear strange story of people abroad advising other people not to come and they stay there without travelling back I knew that human wickedness to human is real. I once told one friend of mine that instead of advising me not to come abroad make himself come back to naija. Nobody said abroad is paradise but its worth it over a billion times compared to staying put in naija when u are not a politician seeing free money. My only regret is that I should have come a long time ago until recently. Now I can work, plan myself , no fear of kidnapping or police brutality. I never even see gun here. I never see any military self but crime rate is minimal. Make una still dey pray to God to save Nigeria as if na God cause am. When people vote in bad leaders they will now be expecting miracle that God can use him to change the country. Nigerians will plant mango and be praying to God to turn it to apple. 11 Likes 2 Shares |

tensazangetsu20: Dont you know that there are foreign agent on nairaland here who swt mouth or hype institution just like we have techno, infinix agents? They don't ask for money from u but give u an impression to go to certain institutions. They are hired by this so called countries to scout for students The same way apc have agent here who hype the party 4 Likes 1 Share |

How you know I am not in Nigeria as I am typing? Again, assumptions just like you have in your postings...next..send me pics and videos you are in Nigeria and ask for my precise location. I do not need you to take me serious...Here you will see them on the streets...sebi Nigeria you can sleep in abandoned buildings and uncompleted...try that in sane countries. Anyways, I am not here to debate...japa if you must. Good luck faceland: |

Animegirl:I can get your point clearly. We pay nepa bills thru the nose yet no power. Running your own generator is almost impossible cos of the now cost of pms!? Incessant supply and cut of power is enough to damage water pumps for our boreholes to supply water!!! It's just so horrible Hmmm God have mercy |

Animegirl:Don't give up dear. Just Start saving in dollars first. Secondly, research on country giving PR from your home country. Find the cheapest one. Otherwise, Research a job that provides sponsorship. Otherwise, think of the carribeans or some thriving african country. All Japa na Japa for start. You don't have to be in US, UK, Canada , Australia or New Zealand. Leave Naija first to a profitable country where your skills can make you thrive. However, if you can't get a PR from Naija, try get a work permit. Forget study route. It is expensive and time consuming for now. Bless! 8 Likes 2 Shares |

Dennisochampa:Back in Nigeria I have 4 houses and end up selling two to raise funds.. All the money don blow into whirlwind. I hate when people come here to spew thrash. Yes people make it outside Nigeria but bro you need mor funds to get u stabilise over there. It's as if you starting afresh and now u are running against time cos your visa might expire if you don't get certain sponsors. So let's tell our self the truth. If UK can be like this then how will Italy be, how will Spain, Portugal etc be? Cos I have seen people came from those areas into UK mostly in my local church here |

Re: I Envy People Who Left Nigeria Already. by deyplay: 7:28pm On Feb 01 |
004gist:Yeah, abroad is sweet. You see smiling people not frowning and angry people all the time. Your peace and security is important. Abroad also has a lot of plenty opportunities. However, for new comers, it is not paradise or even near one. For the first few months, you may not get job or reasonable one. Like this poster said, taxes on everything even the Burger you want to come and eat is taxed. Another myth is that once you are here, you will immediately become fresh, people here have different skin types from fresh ones to regular Nigerian skin regardless of how many years you have been here. How you take care of your skin is what matters. 1 Like 2 Shares |

CockPit: people do not die of accidents and crime in developed society? even in the UK do you know how many fatal stabbings happen a day ? do you know many people die from mass shootings in the USA every year ? who told you people do not die of heart attack in western world? yes people trek alot in naija calling it sufferin but that is the cardio that most people living in the western world are denied off because of driving to every point and then heart attack happens because the body lacks constant exercise and before you mention gym availability in western countries how many people find time to use that gym membership? who told you there are no car jackings - needless murders and abductions in the USA ? Have you seen the list of missing kids and missing person in the USA for the past 1 year ? you will be shocked to your marrows - google is your friend 2 Likes |

@OP The thing is that you'll miss Nigeria and Nigerian foods a lot when you leave.. all these our native soups, onions etc. that we get easily in the markets are overpriced most times abroad. You go chop burger, you go tire. |
