I don't really think there was any casualties from those US airstrikes in Syria & Iraq.

They spent 5 good days informing the whole world that they were gonna strike, giving the militants more than enough time to disperse and hide.

Ukraine joining NATO is not a major problem for Russia, although it is hard to see your neighbor form a military alliance with your enemy/enemies. But the major concern of Russia is the US. The US started by deploying Nuclear weapons to Turkey. Later they deployed nuclear weapons to Belgium, Germany, Italy & Netherlands.

The fear of having a US nuke in Ukraine is what the Russians don't want and they will do everything to avoid it.

The fear of being surrounded is another reason for the Russian rejection of Ukraine's NATO bid. Imagine if Russia is surrounded and NATO denies Russia passage to their waters etc. Or stop Russia from using her air space. Russia wlll become weak and they will be forced to abide by NATO rules and regulations.

Isolation and placing of NUKE close to Russia is what the Russians are fightibg against and they will fight to the end.

LOL. This was the US stance not official NATO stance on the matter. Is the US the only member of NATO? All members have to ratify new members before accession.

Makes the "wooing" part the other guy said accurate. And why bring up the suggestion in the first place if you had no interest in admitting Ukraine into the alliance, just to spook the Russians?. US is NATO, NATO is US, US pulls the strings. Not all members agreed with the accession of Sweden and Finland in the first place, but it was ratified anyways.

Well! You where not sincere with your answer. But with my little knowledge from study of the east and west bloc. Let us just assume that it was Ukraine that ran to NATO but you will not also deny that NATO also saw Ukraine as a checkmate to Russia because NATO seeks absolute power. I do not support Russia's invasion also I do not pity the Ukrainians either because they knew about the consequences. No strongman will allow another enemy strongman as neighbor it's simple logic.

As for your question. EU and NATO are two different bodies to start with. Also the flourishing country in NATO in the US. Almost all the other members are pests that's why Trump wants to pull US from the alliance. So logic should have told the Ukrainians to either be family with the Russians or stay neutral especially when dealing with the big boys.
