Unlimited22: Please, it's enough before it starts looking like bullying. And y'all should know I'm not an easy target to pick on. It literally wouldn't take me 2 seconds to turn the chill night hot in here. Someone post about his religious views; another post job openings; you guys have rap disses; you have shared about your book in here. There's literally no kind of conversations that doesn't go on in here, AS A BEER PARLOUR, but you want to draw the line at Taylor Swift? Some guys are up there talking about Shallipopi and how they like him or not. Was the last fight in here not caused by a disagreement over what people should and should not post? I literally was not even expecting anything by way of an actual engagement. Just putting my thoughts for anyone to read. That was why I posted something along the line of foreign affairs. Like since when do embassies put out statements over a celebrity's flight schedule and relationships? I have not brought in anything 'girly' about her. I have only spoken about her as a musician and that's very much a valid subject in this chatroom. 2 Likes |

Scrolling past the post literally costs zero naira but no, you will want to be a kindergarten bully π€£π€£. In a thread that men, married and otherwise, talk about hip hop, hookup girls and reminisce about their university days and the frivolities they were engaging in, Taylor Swift is out of limits to talk about. *Laughs in faworaja masculinity*. 1 Like |

This one better stop disguising and embrace her inner femininity. π€£π€£π€£ She supposedly doesn't want to talk about Taylor Swift, but she knows enough to know the different fanbases and what they go by. She even knows BTS' fan group?? ?? ?? Of all things, lmaoooo? Because the way that is so niche and not something you randomly come across. |

Unlimited22:Bro, Music for the most part is subjective, but that guy no sabi anything. You can't tell me otherwise. Shallipopi na just talentless Yahoo boy, with heavy PR and social media hype. That there are people that actually rate him says a lot about our taste in music. Person wey dey sing like primary school student. I'm not even too bothered about the subject matter in his songs. You can actually make music about nasty and stupid stuff in a good way. That's where creativity and talent comes in but Oba Pluto no get that one. I can't point to any element of music artistry he is moderately good at. His fanbase is made up of a certain demographic with questionable taste in music. Mediocrity is enough for them, as long as it is loud, controversial and uncouth. 10 Likes |

Eunoiaa:There's nothing wrong with the topic IMO. But you don fight with every guy on this thread. Na the issue be that. You don't have to fight with every guy on Nairaland to drive home your point. About the topic, I'm a big fan of Taylor Swift. If we're still in the era of religion, people will be worshipping her as a goddess. But we're in the twilight of that era now. She's a goddess. Some people are just fortunate in this life. They'll reincarnate multiple times on Earth at different eras and would achieve great feats each time and be worshipped or revered as a god or goddess. If any of these goddesses Isese traditionalists worship reincarnate, they'd be celebrated and revered the way millions regard Taylor Swift today. Human souls have hierarchies when they manifest physically on Earth, and highly successful people like Taylor Swift are usually advanced souls and are often reincarnated people. The fact is, almost all the successful people in all areas of human endeavor, such as music, sports, science, and many others, are reincarnated people who had existed in the past eras. To achieve great success in their current life and become a star, most of them are simply tapping into the knowledge and experience they've accumulated in their past lives and connections they've made over such periods. To become great in life, it's important one discovers oneself. Parenting also plays a very vital role. |

Shallipopi is definitely an acquired taste for me. And yes, I agree with everything his critics say, but it is that nonsense gan gan that he sings that I like. I guess my experience was kinda the same thing: I heard his song once and the lyrics were stuck to my head without my consent. And I left it like that. |

Unlimited22:I no even dey discuss religious issues often on Nairaland again. To me, that's like beating a dead horse. If people fight from now till the next 10 years, it doesn't change the fact that the era of religions is in its twilight today on this planet. Science and technology has taken over. Away from that, Apple recently released its Vision Pro consumer headset based on spatial computing, which promises to take augmented reality (AR) to the next level. The gadget goes for over $3300 now, but hopefully, more advances will be made in the near future that'll reduce this exorbitant price so more people can afford it. Judging by its features and capabilities, the Apple Vision Pro is really a fascinating piece of tech. 2 Likes |

A001: Everybody has fought with everyone in here, please. That one is a normal thing. And I see the way people who've fought with each other in here actually go to great lengths to maintain their beef and avoid each other. Although now I will admit in part that nobody sees their fight with me as "real" because they will still go on to quote on or pick on me. I will not completely attribute that to me being a victim always ganged up on. So about Taylor Swift, I think I might have to consider this "goddess" explanation because the hype is just so phenomenal. I used to listen to her in 2014/15, I fell off and then I came back years later to realise that she's suddenly everywhere. There are just a few things left for her to touch MJ (although I cannot accurately compare them together because I didn't grow up on MJ and even before he died I was not into music). She and BeyoncΓ© are literally on the same level of success now (the Beyhives will rather bury themselves alive than admit this). Or she's likely surpassed. She's a superstar in every sense of the word. I do think American capitalism has a major role to play in her popularity, but not up to this extent. A lot of her fame can still not be accounted for (if we remove spirituality). You know why Walt Disney, J.P. Morgan, Henry Ford, those luxury brand founders and others like them are/were successful. You can read their biographies and logically follow their business trail to see how they built the corporations they built. But Taylor? The AI pornography made of her prompted a legislative bill in the US Senate. Even the White House spoke on it. I can't recall if it was John Cena or some other sports entertainer, but they(he) were being interviewed and was asked if they were a Swiftie, as if it's a legit (political) identity. She's a human being being worshipped before out very eyes. I think I'll compare it to the kind of fame Caesar had. I am not saying she's on the same level with the Roman general, but that quality of spirit, aura is of the same stock. Social scientists should actually have a field day studying this occurrence/her person. |

A001: Mastery by Robert Greene! I keep putting off reading this book, but I really have to sit down one day and be serious with it. I was going to ask how much of self-discovery is needed for her type of fame, but I just realise she might be the kind of person/people Greene was referring to (I've read the first one and two pages). Let me even look for it and try to share some screenshots.
