Accra Metropolitan Assembly does not want to give permit to buildings above certain height for obvious reasons. Accra's land is earthquake prone land

Initially, Bank Of Ghana new Headquarters was suppose to be a 33floor project but the city authorities declined. They reduced it to 25 floors. Just recently I heard somewhere they have reduced it further to 23 floors and for that reason the Bank Executives thought to add extra towers to the main building.

Lots of companies and individuals have shown interest in building something above 25/30 floors but they were not allowed to build.

Why can't you build one in Takoradi, or Kumasi? What's the reason for proposing one when they certainly know the earthquake will devour it? FYI, the strength of any Skyscraper depends on the foundation laid. Most of them are built to withstand mild earth tremors, So no excuse for Accra. Also, I have never seen/heard of any death-dealing earthquakes anywhere in Accra. Nairobi is even more susceptible to Seismic hazards than Accra.

( if they didn't have money as you claim, they won't even start)

Picture 2 - This is a Colonial era hotel from Kwame Nkrumah's days, ships crew used to lodge in this hotel during the 60s. It was closed down some years back as it became unsafe and placed on a list of buildings for demolition.

And about the Dakar example I think your country will need that advise more than Ghana. In 10 years from now your country could count over 300million citizens and as that you will need more of such to contain your piggery population. most of the skyscraperss you see in Abidjan and dakar aren't build by locals but by foreigner, if you think it is about financial muscle , then, Accra will have double of it since Accra naturally attract more foreigner than those aforementioned countries . For you to type about financial capacity, then, you have to talk about the number of people that benefits from the social assistance render by their govt.. Many Togolist and ivorian are under Ghanaian NHIS due to their proximity to Ghana .

In many cases , private foreign investors are in charge of those buildings.
