Funny as it sounds, that's what is required to succeed as a nation. unfortunately, Nigeria isn't close to being a nation and worsened by religious indoctrination, leading to zombeism and stagnation. A typical Nigeria won't even bother reporting to the authorities, if foreign elements are doing something funny around their environment, talk more of attacking them; this alone, gives an innate feeling of disconnect from what nationhood is all about. grin

Africans are as rude and aggressive as the white people, until they tried taming you

Citizens being aggressive and rude is what is required to succeed as a nation?

The developed countries of this world, how many of their citizens are aggressive and rude?

Una too dey talk nonsense for this nairaland sha.

Let's not blow this outta proportion.
His job does require him to be diplomatic in responding to things like this.
The Nigerian government painted them as violent, it's only fair for them to respond diplomatically.

Just respect your host country, and respect yourselves.

Meanwhile Nigerians are overly friendly with these clowns over here. They need to be given a little taste of what they dish out.

An average black south African man is naturally extremely aggressive and lazy.

Hating on foreigners is normal to them.

That notwithstanding, the exploits of some of our Nigerian brothers over there brings a sour taste to the mouth. Engaging in drugs, petty crimes and the others.

Super Eagles must beat the bafana bafana team shege. They don't have respect.

If only we had governments that were not corrupt and a footballing federation that was not filled with idiots we would have been amongst the top 5 footballing nations in the world.

I swear they never see fight, just unleash Aboki alone for them, they will run. What nonsense. What justification SA have to acuse Israel of genocide when they carry out xenophobic attacks on fellow African. SA are the most ungrateful and useless people in the world. IDF Drones need to visit SA.

"Useful" Nigerian calling on big brother Israel to attack SA. Does Nigeria not have drones, or you know they're no match for SA?πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬πŸ‘ŽπŸΎ

South African Government's Head of Public Diplomacy, Clayson Monyela has said on Twitter that his job requires him to "play nice"

This is as tensions are rising over African Cup Of Nations Semi-Final football match between the Bafana Bafana of South Africa and the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

Due to an history of xenophobic attacks on foreigners in south African in the past and comments made by some South Africans on social media, the Nigerian high commission in South Africa had released an advisory to Nigerians living there to be careful of where they watch match and to also avoid inflammation comments that can cause conflicts. They were also warned against loud celebrations should Nigeria win the match which is billed for later today.

Mr Monyela who took to Twitter to show displeasure at the Nigerian High Commission said

A South African with username "Maradinho10" replied him with

Mr Monyela then replied with

Clayson Monyela's reply had gotten reaction as people were mostly shocked at this statement which a lot of people described as having a not so friendly undertone as they ask what Mr Monyela would have done if he isn't at his present work position.

Some Nigerians have used this statement as a justification for the advisory released by the Nigerian High commission as they have viewed it as a veiled threat and further urge Nigerians living in South African to be careful before, during and after the match.

If we have good leaders who is SA to be treating us like shit?
That why vote have consequences.

Other African nations see Nigeria and Nigerians has a problem, this is most unfortunate and avoidable.

They see us as sleeping on our role as the giant of Africa, we must therefore wake up and take the leading role.

So I call on the super eagles to soak SA's cane in hot pepper for a deserved flogging. cheesy

The day any govt in power in Nigeria takes the bold step to indigenize or "Nigerianize" all South African assets and investments and restrict diplomatic relations, there'll be no end to all this rubbish from SA towards Nigeria and Nigerians.

we should be more worried about the CAF President; PATRICE MOTSEPE who is a South African. We should never forget, he is first a South African before being CAF President and will always want his own country to win against Nigeria in his heart- IF he goes with the ISSA HAYATOU Play book on Nigeria - he can influence our defeat big time ---- the Referees and VAR Analyst are all his employees ---- they have the capacity to show the world ONLY what they want the world to see --- WE MUST BE VERY CAREFUL TODAY not to concede needless penalties and red cards... grin
