1. Judges 14:6 (NIV): The Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon him (i.e. Samson) so that he tore the lion apart with his bare hands as he might have torn a young goat. But he told neither his father nor his mother what he had done."

The Spirit of the Lord helped Samson here indeed! But I think the Philistine's Delilah has more strength than a Lion! And where was the Spirit when Delilah came to cuddle Samson?

2. Judges 14:19 (NIV): Then the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon him. He went down to Ashkelon, struck down thirty of their men, stripped them of everything and gave their clothes to those who had explained the riddle. Burning with anger, he returned to his father’s home.

Wait? Where did the anger come from? Did the spirit of the Lord inspire the killing?
Samson still had many failings being tempted by a women and ended up committing suicide with his enemies according to the Biblical Narrations! I still can't explain why God helped Samson marry a Philistine wife that won't be loyal to him! And why kill people to satisfy someone's useless riddle? O God!

So why do I need this Spirit to understand the Bible?

The Spirit of the Lord can still enter someone today and that person will still kill others like Samson!

In the Old Testament, the Spirit of the Lord doesn't dwell inside people because there were no sanctified men. I was actually supposed to ignore the thread because the ignorance it showcases was so high. Even a normal Christian who rarely goes to church would see how irrelevant the thread is. I had to post a reply only because I wanted to educate you a bit. I don't expect any Christian to respond to this post because it's so ignoble.

The Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God is a meek Spirit. He's gentle. He is our guidance but He also enables us to fulfil our purpose. He is an enabler. He can make the weak strong. He is the Power of God. The power to do all things is in Him.

He empowered Samson according to Samson's purpose. He empowered the Lord Jesus while He was in His human body. That's why Christ said "I can of my own self do nothing." The same way Samson could do nothing without the Holy Spirit.

He empowered the prophets to see the future and tell the mind of God to the people. He is the one who empowers us to live a righteous life and to win the battles over sin and the devil.

Whatsoever the purpose of a child of God is, He is the One who empowers us to fulfil our purposes. He is the Spirit of Wisdom, Counsel, Might, Understanding, and Knowledge. He is also the Spirit of the Lord and of the Fear of the Lord.

In Samson, He operated through Him as the Spirit of Might to bring judgement unto Israel's enemies and deliver them from their oppressors.

All what you read before Jesus' coming has nothing to do with other nations because the barrier is there that you can't worship the God of Israel outside Israel.
It's after Jesus came that the barrier was removed so that anyone from any part of the planet can worship the God of Israel without having to be in Israel! John 4:20-24

The context here is slightly different in a major way. Samson made a bet with a riddle. If his wife's people gets the riddle he will give them 30 linen garments and 30 sets of clothes. Samson does not have all these materials so he had to kill 30 people to acquire them.

And the Biblical God send His Holy Spirit to help Samson in this regard!
