Well, this is the reality of football. Any Coach is as good as his last results and or the performance parameters set by his employers….. Thus the concerns raised, if results are not what is expected, may be justified in most instances if fairly put forward.

But the FACT is that JOSE PASEIRO came to Nigeria 🇳🇬 highly recommended with a unique and an all round experience that I doubt any other previous foreign coach of the Super Eagles can match at the time of their appointment … For instance:

1.Educationally, Paseiro is very comfortable with a Degree in Physical Education/Sports Sciences with Specialization in Football; a Masters Degree is High Performance Training among others
2.Professionally he rose through the ranks and possesses the highest coaching qualifications of UEFA PRO among others.

3.His coaching Experience spans coaching across 4 Continents i.e. Europe, Asia, Africa and South America involving top clubs and National Teams… Thus he was all rounded with experience managing across as follows:

👉Europe: Real Madrid (Assistant coach), and head coach at FC Porto, Sporting Lisbon, FC Braga, Panathinaikos, Rapid Bucharest, Victoria Guimaraes among others and has managed teams in UEFA Champions league and Europa Cup and even played the final of Europa Cup with Sporting Lisbon; 👉Asia: Al-Hillal Saudi Arabia, Al-Wahda, UAE, Sharja UAE and Saudi Arabia Arabia National Team; 👉Africa: Al-Ahly (Egypt); 👉South America: Venezuela National Team

4.With this credentials, it was easy for the decision makers to trust that Paseiro has the ability to deliver the objective envisioned (which was basically to qualify for AFCON 23 and Win) all being equal . The current strides, have vindicated Paseiro and justified the initial decision and hopefully will lead to the final glory of Winning the AFCON Trophy and set the foundation for a renewed dominance and great successful future for the Super Eagles.

5. Fantastic job by the NFF President, Ibrahim Gusau for trusting and sustaining the project with Paseiro after taking over from Amaju Pinnick in spite of all the pressures and the results are showing what consistency and continuity can deliver and fact that everyone is walking forward in the same direction and therefore success is guaranteed.

but i no predict scoreline na..
I only insinuated CIV will score as well. It's a matter of who outscores. We could score 3 or more.. But I don't forsee a 1-0 slim victory.
I'm only saying we will have to do better with our chances

Mujtahida:

😂😂😂 This is funny. Show me since this tournament start how you predict scorelines and it happened. No be to predict winner oo.. Scoreline.

So if we don't score two goals, then go win us.

We really need a good replacement for Ajayi, after this tourney. His passes are atrocious.
We've Jordan and also I am sure so many foreign born will wanna turn up for nigeria after this final most especially as we're approaching world cup year

Na Ajayi be next scapegoat bá?! Una want Zaidu out, he was out and reality checked in. So na Ajayi our in-house Coaches want out now?!

Like you folks are with them at camp, or know better than Paseiro and his coaching crew. This was how majority on this thread wrote off the team before the tourney began, today they are iim final stage.

Make una dey calm down with beer parlour analysis. Na Chuks, Aribo, Musa and Awaziem need, Bruno need to be replaced for now not Ajayi and co.

Chuks and Aribo seriously need to be replaced
Well for Chuks Tella is there and hopefully we can get Noni dude is a fantastic winger.

Let's push for Olise again maybe we'll get him this time

Sincerely our team has a long way to go if we are gonna compete well globally. We will have to consolidate on this and build stronger going forward.

Goke7:

Am not giving myself many headaches about this final, whoever wants it more will win on Sunday. We had a big scare with this semi-final match but thanks to our keeper. One thing I must commend though is the mental strength of our players despite all SA thrown at them. Another team would have collapsed totally in extra time knowing how SA won the previous match. That mental strength from our boys may be the edge hoping all other factors work out for us in the final.

I must commend the attitude of Moffi, Iheanacho, and even Omeruo coming in as substitutes in such a tense match and at the time they came in. They were virtually thrown into the fire and they were very productive, now that's one major thing I have never seen in a Super Eagles team for a long time. Perhaps destiny is truly knocking at the door.

Torunarigha is not an upgrade to any of our starters. I am hoping Tosin will come in. Udoukhai as well.

The officiating in this match was fair. We all saw the fouls with our own eyes

Yes nah ,very fair ,we can’t even complain about red despite going 2-0 up before the VAR issue that dragged it back to the Yusuf foul that gave them the pk to make it 1-1

Epl refs should come and learn and those corrupt useless Laliga refs

Very apt pre-match analysis by the Ghanaian TV pundits which eventually panned out as Alex Iwobi was exposed defensively in the 3-4-3 set up particularly in the first half.

Difficult one, but wouldn't be surprised if the coach plays a 4-3-3 variant or 3-5-2 in the final to reduce the defensive burden on Iwobi and free him to operate for longer spells closer to the forward line.

Jordan Torunarigha is a left footed CB, he isn’t suited for that role. He can serve as a back up to Bassey. In Ajayi’s position you should be looking at players like Adarabioyo and Igoh Ogbu.

make this Dikko man shut up.

Oasis007:
DESTINY CHILD!! May God bless Mr. Jude Anyadufu, the Sporting Director of Enyimba FC… NWABILI was unfortunately relegated from the NPFL with Go-Round FC of Portharcourt in 2018. But Mr. Jude saw he is something special in the games he kept for Go Round FC and so didn’t allow him to go down and signed up for Enyimba FC to start as 3rd choice keeper behind LEKE and FATAHU DAUDA (a Ghana International Goalkeeper)… the rest they say is history!! The Enyimba head coach, Usman Abdallah trust him and made him Number 1 and when he left Enyimba to Wikki and later Katsina Utd he always goes with Nwabili as his top keeper … Now in the Super Eagles setup, at the AFCON Nwabili is first choice while LEKE is the 3rd choice …. That’s life ….

Even if Uduokhai comes I won’t bank on him because he is injury prone. I think Akpoguma deserves another chance especially in this system.

Did you know that the two players(Iheanacho and Nwabali) who decided our PK fate yesterday are from same village but different states? Lol funny right? They are both from Egbema. A village cut into two halves in the name of state creation. One half in Imo and other to Rivers.

I bet Tosin will shift ground. And that will be a very good addition. I don't know why Akpoguma plays well for his clubside but buffs and puffs in SE shirt.

Those of you saying we missed Zaidu yesterday I guess you guys were watching the back of your TV sets. How was he missed? Did the SA threaten through our left or were we found wanting defending from our left side? What was that that was missed about Zaidu, his crosses? Did you guys see how delicious Aina crosses were and his neat tackles inside our box? We didn’t miss him. We only missed Aina on the RWB position. SA attacked more through the middle with long balls trying to catch our centre backs flat footed.

Like I calculated, our ranking has gone to 28th, I calculated 25th if we won, but we drew and won on PKs so the winning factor was 0.75, not 1, which is why we're on 28th now 💪🏾

Back in the world's Top 30! 🦅🇳🇬❤️

If we win Côte D'Ivoire 🇨🇮, we should be on 24th or 25th! If we win on penalties, 26th at most! Leggo boys! Na process 😤

Congratulations to all Super Eagles 🦅 fans 💚
Wawuuu ! So elated , that’s why we need to play beatable teams ahead of us not Argentina 🇦🇷 again …

An epitome of confidence. This guy handles his defenders and encourages his players as though he was their guardian. Well, yea he guards their post. Dude acts so mature and he is full of presence. His aura is so superb and it is hard to believe he is just a new member of the team.
