In case you dont know, I play a bit of soccer. Defensive midfield to be exact. So, I know a lazy and inefficient player when I see one. Iwobi is very lazy. I am just calling it as I see it. Nothing personal

I won't call Iwobi lazy, im style no just suit African soccer, same as Aribo. We are all hailing Onyeka cos of his style of play

Na gidigbo players you dey like. If you understand energy you will realize that even if Iwobi is not there, we can't play all rugged midfielders.

Mind you Iwobi is playing an unfamiliar role as a DLP tasked with defensive and attacking responsibilities.

A yellow card that was widely celebrated. Osimhen and others sef dey applaud am. Even when the ref blow, he still no gree leave the Amapiano guy.

You know the smartest thing about that foul? He made sure he was not the last man before committing the foul.

Not really, I like players like Partey of Ghana in that position. Onazi was decent, too

You didn't see the video analysis where the Ghanaian analyst shredded Iwobi ?? You will still blame me abi. Iwobi thinks playing midfield is a joke...lmao

the analyst even went ahead to say an Onyeka will react differently, omo shame catch me small

thatโ€™s what many fail to understand

Iwobi even said it in an interview that he is instructed to keep it simple and defend more

because iwobi is not a defensive player

Also what iwobi can do upward the pitch Onyeka canโ€™t do that. Both are different type of midfield players

What is our plan B when opponents decide to double mark our wingers?

Seems some teams have mastered this against us and it seems to be very effective.

Tunisia used the tactic to devastating effect the last time and we just saw SA used the same and it worked.

What exactly can we do differently when teams decide to neutralize our wingers?
Valid questions

Iwobi should take a cue from Victor Moses, he can do more and should do more. The Ola Aina we are all praising today was never like this before, he simply did more

when they do that they leave some areas for our team to exploit

Moreover in jpes team we donโ€™t mk much use of the flank

this tournament is his first time playing in that position and with time he will get use to it

Iwobi plays as an AM or from the flank

Criticism of Iwobi is borne out of lack of understanding of the present tactics deployed by Jpes and the role Iwobi plays.

Man is playing a role he's never played before

Unpopular Opinion; Nwakali would have done a better job than Iwobi with 3 - 4 - 3 formation. Note he is naturally a deep-lying playmaker. He is capable of scanning every corner of the pitch and so good at long range passes.

Osimhen wouldn't be that starved with Nwakali in the middle.

Which nwakali? lol. Nwakali has regressed a lot since the U17 days.

That boy isnโ€™t SE material. The day iwobi gets dropped from the SE, na that day una go realize say iwobi is one of our most crucial players.

1. If camera zooms Ekong's face.

I dont know if anyone in our technical area noticed the South African GK had a shoulder injury. He was in pains on his right shoulder. I was screaming that our pk takers should place balls to his right.
I think Omeruo was the only player who seemed to take advantage of this information. Williams almost caught Iheanacho's pk because he placed it on his good side. He dived to his left most of the time.
These minor things can make a difference. Our bench should take note.
What if it was a bait. Some smart GKs use this tactic.

Is he a veteran playing the role he is now playing?

Why don't we move Ekong to play as a winger and let's see if his veteranship will save him.
