I have nothing to gain. That guy kept clutching and his right shoulder after clashing with Lookman. During the shootout, he avoided diving to the bad side. I thought our players didn't notice but looking back at the video I noticed almost all our penalties went to his damaged side and he kept diving to his left. It's a pattern. Iheanacho broke the pattern and nearly paid for it. It's just a personal observation.
It's ok bro

Jose Peseiro. If he had been fired after the Zimbabwe game, no one would have shed a tear. He would have earned it too. The results were heartbreaking.

Then, #AFCON2023  started. We didn’t win our first game but no one could rightly knock the coach because the team created several chances. His job had been done even when the job wasn’t completely done on the pitch.

Then, 1-0 against Côte d’Ivoire, 1-0 against GNB, 2-0 against a neighbour we now love beating - Cameroon - and then 1-0 against Angola…a trend was apparent. Peseiro-ball was clear. Score by all means, never concede.

Then came South Africa, a team we’ve always found joy against. Peseiro-ball was facing its fiercest test yet. The first half was so messy I was beginning to see the Peseiro attacks on Twitter again. I couldn’t do that myself because I had already been converted by the man, so, I kept faith.

Peseiro showed that beyond his philosophy, he was brave. He could be just as pragmatic. He switched virtually all the forward players, attackers and midfielders. That basically is a technical disruption. He was throwing everything at it. To win the game and possibly with penalties in mind. He risked everything against South Africa. Had Nigeria lost, he would have had to face renewed attacks from those who remain unconvinced.

And hey, Peseiro-ball still never conceded in open play. It took a penalty. 6 games, 1 goal conceded in open play. Best of the tournament.

I judge managers based on what I see, not what they say. His style may need tweaking for another tournament and even qualifiers, but at this tournament, Jose Peseiro has earned his place and deserves all the plaudits!

Here is to Peseiro-ball

My favourite players so far in this tournament.

Onyeka....my kid brother's namesake. Looks a lot like him and plays like my dear brother. Reminds me of my brother very much.

Ekong...I bow for this Nigga. A born leader and a warlord.

Aina...confident on the ball and very strong.

Calvin Bassey Ughelumba....very underrated, but one of our shinning lights in this tournament
u forgot Our GK

which born leader? Ekong that almost reduced us to ten men if not for god. Your teammate is in your front, you are pulling an opponent's shorts

I won't call Iwobi lazy, im style no just suit African soccer, same as Aribo. We are all hailing Onyeka cos of his style of play
Iwobi is lazy. His own is laziness nothing else. Wetin be "him style no suit African football" for how many years now playing in African soil?

He's playing in England the last time I checked so what's his problem. Which English/white midfielder is he even emulating by jugging all around the pitch while opponents navigate past him with so much ease.

Aribo is still better. Iwobi is simply a minus one when we're defending. Very terrible for a midfielder.

When you’ve run nonstop for 1hr 20 mins they you’ll have a right to talk but for now keep shut

You can clear tell that ekong is gassed out to the max

If he hadn’t had held that man and that same player made a run and scored you’ll call ekong all sort of names

Watin person go do take please una self

Ndidi remains a top Midfield general of the team.

To be honest, it is wild that Nigeria could just actually conquer Africa without the services of one of the very best battled-hardened Midfielders on the continent.

It shows our true depth and quality in the middle when utilised right.

Omanambala:

This makes my day brighter. What a phenomenal player. I am wondering how Ndidi will displace this workhorse

Nwabali's performance is making me sad when I remember how we lost the world cup ticket to Ghana because of a goal keeping rookie error.
