tensazangetsu20: The narrative about japa after COVID largely contributed. My female friend wey study at University of Ottawa had her uncles, who work at either Shell or ExxonMobil, sponsored her grad studies. I recalled when she encouraged me to apply as the universities are affordable, but what about living expenses? What about the chances of getting a student visa (which was 8 out of 10 being denied)? What about scholarships? To do hard and thorough research good o. 1 Like |

lastkingsman: Anyone who wants to leave Nigeria should convert every savings to dollars and store them under his/her pillow. That is what I told my parents to do as we planned towards my relocation. We changed about 20K dollars then at 360 naira and continue converting every savings into dollars. Never save in naira. That is the mistake. All the payments I made were made in dollars. Nothing concerned me with the naira. 2 Likes 1 Share |

lastkingsman: No matter how bad Nigeria is, I can't advise anyone to leave Nigeria without your full tuition fees paid and a year of living expenses. If your program is two years and tuition is two years, pay the whole two years. The kind of jobs you will get as a student can't enable you to pay the tuition fees if you like work like a donkey. 2 Likes 1 Share |

tensazangetsu20: I agree with you. The point is he has already left Nigeria (spending huge amount of money already) and currently facing a serious challenge. Because of what previous students have done with respect to tuition fees, school are very serious with payment now. Just trying to see how he can navigate this quagmire 2 Likes |

GodfreyOsondu: Germany has blocked account. You can't do proof of funds parole and the money in the blocked account is enough to cater for your needs for at least a year |

I did computer science, seeking admission in Germany but don't about the schools there. I already know they require students to pay money into an account, of which the Student wouldn't have access to withdraw it, untill they start schooling in Germany. I'm also contemplating UK or any other country, any useful information please? |

Jessydan54: Please how did you go about your admission, I intend to study in Germany, BSc in Comp. Science here in Nigeria. |

djlaqua91:I admire the way you responded to the guy. Please I'm done with computer science in Nigeria. I intend to study in Germany or UK, Germany as first choice. On or before September this year. But I've just been wandering online, but decided to use nairaland to get information. Please do you know where i can start? Any info or hint. I'm into IT. 2 Likes |

Hannania: Good morning, please my father has told me to seek admission in Germany or Uk, so that by September i may be able to start. But I'm starting with Germany. I have been wandering the internet since yesterday, but haven't gotten a clear idea on where to start from. I did computer science, I'm into IT, so would most likely thread that part as my study program. Please do you know a school or something usefull i can start with? |

Jandminded:If you have a first class in the last two years, then you'll get a date for interview in four weeks. If not, you'll have to wait 19+ months to get a date for interview for Germany. Almost all public schools are free in Germany but for one state which charges €1500 per semester. You'll need a block account of €11,208 euros to be "blocked" in a German account, then you'll be issued €934 monthly from it when you arrive in Germany. Use www.daad.de for search for schools. For UK, you can check the UK thread. But I'll advice you to have 70% of your tuition paid, and living expenses for at least 6 months because getting jobs for pay tuition in UK is now fairytale, unless you're going with a dependant on a research based MSC. Even at that, get your tuition. 3 Likes |

Hannania: I didn't graduate with a first class though, 2.2 grade. So the interview would now require 30 months if at all? Wow |
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by Lance008(m): 10:13am On Feb 11 |
Hannania:If you already graduated from Nigeria uni and applying for undergraduate how many month will it take to be called for interview |
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by Hannania(m): 12:39pm On Feb 11 |
Jandminded:Lol, it will be 19monthd ++, but you can shorten it to weeks if you have a scholarship. That way, you'll get a date in 4 weeks 2 Likes |

For those that have gone for interview please will there be an issue if motivation letter was addressed to the school rather than the embassy? And if the date was 2022 instead of 2024? |
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by Hannania(m): 11:14pm On Feb 11 |
peacy05:Don't allow village people make you to ruin your chances. The motivation letter of your school and that of the embassy are not the same. Contents of the school motivational letter should be summarised in that of the embassy. You're to convince visa officials about reasons and motivations for studying in Germany, obtaining admission into a specific area and course of study, and stating why you should be provided with an opportunity to study in the Germany. Please head on to rewrite it 1 Like |

Everything is written there but the thing is the motivation letter was addressed to the school rather than the embassy |
