They no longer have sovereignty over Nigeria to enforce any so called treaty. Nigeria can only be broken into different parts whenever Nigerians decide so and not a fathom treaty that never existed.

Most Nigerians were willing to go their separate ways in 1967 however the British advisers to Gowon said no.
