This is the reason the other halfcaste goal keeper left Eagles. Nigerians are ingrates. Someone served you with all his heart. Sweating for 90minutes in such a hot weather still you will insult him. Must you win all the time? Sad My son plays in Europe. Not yet a professionalt though and was just saying this evening that his sister was joking she sees him in Nigerian colours in few years. I encouraged him and couldn't tell him the truth about his father's land. It is not worth it. 1 Like |

abhosts: Lies they tell to make you believe are true Their chances of playing for English national team are almost zero. Those British-Nigerians that make it to the English national team are usually very good at club side and then get invited to the national team. Who do you think Iwobi will bench in English national team? He chose the path that can guarantee him playing time/national caps , which also boosts his football career 4 Likes |

MrCuteking: Exactly, Man! 👍👍 He has never been a Deep lying Midfielder which Peseirro forced him to play in this tournament. It's like asking Mason Mount to play alongside Declan rice of England in a 2 man midfield. 1 Like |

Bullies everywhere. People who attack and bully others on social media or have time to attack others are people whose parents failed woefully financially and in other areas and they too are failing. Most of them attacking him are currently failing in life and even failing in their hook up/ yahoo trades. Dude didn’t perform just like some other team members. What about the personal attack? Footballing is a team work, if others had played perfectly, seeing the faults of those who don’t perform well would be extremely difficult. Nigeria parades a high number of youths that are are very useless compared to other countries in the world. Same people who protested th death of Mohbad someone might want to ask them why they were protesting? For what exactly? If they knew why they were protesting, now that justice hasn’t been served why can’t they protest again. Useless people. There are many of them on Nairaland 2 Likes |

The first goal was from a set piece..a corner kick... Sanusi was at fault for not marking Kessie...The Second goal was Ekong's fault for not closing Haller enough... where's Iwobi's fault..rewatch the match or highlights.. you'll get it right .. moreover the coach played a negative defensive football....chukwueze assisted the Nigerian Goal...he only played 2 midfielders while Ivory coast played seri, fofana, max gredel and Kessie in the midfield ...that's why they outplayed us totally..if you're good you should understand that 4-4-2 is better than 5-3-2...when they equalised he should have changed it to 4-4-2 but left everything and continue playing the bad formation..that's why the equalised..even the cotedvoire bench couldn't believe it casualobserver: 2 Likes |

mariahAngel:We don't need them. They have been mostly flops. We need a new coach who should take a tour of our local League and scout players from there. Not international players that thinks they have nothing to lose good or bad performance, and many of them are not even in top flight team, while some others usually come from the bench. It is time to look inward. 5 Likes |

NOwazobia: You are smart! Checkout South Africa, most of their players are playing locally All these foreign players make it difficult for us to see our local players display against other nations. Their hunger for wins and international recognition will make them hustle harder 4 Likes 1 Share |

Cotè d'voire sacked their coach after their poor group stage performance. See how things turned around and they won. If we criticize our own, he should learn and be better. Nigeria as a whole didn't deserve to win, with their pattern of play all through the tournament. Iwobi...was very instrumental to our poor performance too. The coach also. Do better or don't honour our invitation anymore. Go hard or go home! 3 Likes 1 Share |

Stevenson20:Have you forgotten so soon that The Europeans are the number one Bully..... Remember how England bullied Saka after Euro 2021, Italians constantly Bullied Ballotelli, Spain at some point bullied Fernando Torres...David Beckham was heavily bullied after he missed Penalty against Portugal in Euro 2004.... Micheal Owen was constantly Bullied when his career was dwindling in 3 lions of England.....Christiano Ronaldo has been bullied by Portuguese fans to retire from National team..... Brazilian fans are also Bullies, They've bullied Richarlison several times yet it hasn't stopped him from giving his best to Brazil anytime he gets called up..... Micheal Ballack and Tosten Fringes were also bullied at some point in German National Team.... No one is exempted from this .. Criticism is Part of the game.... Intelligent Footballers capitalize on this and get better with hardwork and determination...... Iwobi is not the first to be criticized....... In football Performance counts.....Iwobi was awful all through the Tournament...... He's not just good in that Midfield Position.... He really hasn't developed much as a Footballer and that's why he's not anywhere close to His Uncle Jay Jay 2 Likes 1 Share |

Cmanforall:That is the point. How many of our international call-ups stand out in their team? Hardly you will see anyone. We need our local boys. If a good coach should independently take a tour around our league without political influence, you will see that we have very good local footballers that will make us proud. It will even encourage more people to take football or general sport seriously in the country if they notice that there are opportunities for them in international competition if they are locally outstanding. 2 Likes 1 Share |
