ednut1: Trudeau is down in the polls so he is looking for ways to change the narrative in the eyes of Canadians. So he is using Ukraine as a wedge issue. However, conservatives should be very careful not to fall into Trudeau's trap. Canada is not the US where the far right can win elections due to the structure of their political system. The reason why I like the conservatives in Canada, UK and Australia is because they are close to the center. I believe a center right politician is better than a far left politician since the liberals are now moving too far to the left these days instead of pulling to the center. If Canada conservatives start toeing the line of far right conservatives in the US, they will loose. I myself will stick with Trudeau if that happens. A far left politician is better than a far right politician. Tucker Carlson visited Alberta last week or so for a summit with conservatives and that is not a good sign. Ukraine used to have a bipartisan support before. Trump had no issues giving military aid to Ukraine in 2017, 2018. Everything changed when he asked Zelensky to dig up dirt on Biden which lead to his first impeachment. Since then, he has managed to turn the far right into anti Ukraine cos of his own personal interest and vendetta. I hope Canada conservatives are wise to stay in the center and not tag along with the crazy far right guys in the US. Nobody wants to see those craziness in the US in Canada abeg. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Goodday Chiefs. Looking to do a masters but I don’t know if Criminology & Security Studies is a good course that’ll present employment opportunities in Canada? Or I should just go to college and get something that has leverage. |

Hello house, I have a sponsorship application for my wife ongoing. we had a baby in September and we sent a webform immediately to let the IRCC know. my wife's application was approved in November, on the same day we got our baby' passport from the Nigerian immigration office. we sent a webform to upload the baby's passport and the immigration forms for the add on request to include her in the application. Ever since then the online tracker doesn't show any progress. Reaching out to the Accra office via webform doesn't seem to help too. I sent a generic webform around the middle of January and I got this response. Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). We verified the information on file and are pleased to confirm that the information was received by the responsible office. If further information is needed during the processing of your application, the responsible office may contact you. We hope the information provided is helpful in assisting you with your enquiry. I sent another one to the Accra office on Friday and the response was we got from them was "Regarding your daughter, you were advised to contact CIO to add her to the application.". This has been done since November. I am really confused as to what is going on, and if we sent the files to the appropriate office. what can I do please? |

IMO, It doesn’t hurt to send the documents again & a compassionate msg in seperate webforms to CIO/Accra/Nairobi. Not just asking for update. You can even go one further and send a compassionate email to RROC(ircc.in-rroc-corr-ri.ircc@cic.gc.ca) stating how the delay has been affecting you (emotional&mental health) & how you look forward to reuniting with your wife and new born. RROC has been known in the past to help follow up on Citizens/PRs pending family reunification applications. Some folks even send webforms every week to their visa office until their visa is approved!!! Cheers lga23: 6 Likes |

Hello Family, What is the best route to travel to Nigerian and with which Airline? Anything I need to be aware of in advance? Who has travelled to Nigeria recently? Is it best to travel through USA is one has a UK/EU passport to to travel via Europe? I heard Nigeria and Niger have issue with airspace? Appreciate your response. |

Actually I was aspiring to start doing a move a PR to Canada... I am a skilled certified auto technician not road side mechanic oh.. I mean I fix only luxury cars.. like diagnosis, computerized scanning, Air conditions, wheel alignment and balancing, key and ecu programming, etc about cars except body work and upholstery... I just want too ask any one here that have been there what are my chances of surviving there. And as times goes on would love too change career path too business and schooling over there.. Any advice for me pls |

Come work as a mechanic for some time, understand the system then open your business. larrixauto2017: |
Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant Part 2 by MayorOfEdmonton: 7:02pm On Feb 14 |
He can’t just work as a mechanic in Canada, @larrixauto2017 You’ll need a formal trade schooling from an institute of technology in your target province and a trade/journeyman certificate before he will be allowed to touch any vehicle. For example in Edmonton, he will have to attend automotive service technician course among others at NAIT then start his journeyman with an auto repair shop to gain hands-on experience. His previous experience and certificate from Nigeria may help easily get journeyman spot perhaps but definitely not qualify him to just start touching people’s vehicles in Canada. In fact he needs the certificate and experience before he can register an auto repair business!!! Cheers njambert: 2 Likes |

LesPieux:Just travel with any reliable airline like AirFrance or KLM. Yes, Niger airspace may be blocked, but reliable airlines already have a route around Niger that doesn't encroach the country's airspace. But if you want to be super careful, then take United. United may go from Chicago O'Hare or any other hub will will go straight over the Atlantic through Senegal to Nigeria. There'll be no need to go through Niger. 1 Like |

izibili44: Visitor Visa as the name implies is for visiting/tourist. Your cousin would have to leave after 6 months. I strongly discourage him from coming to Canada on a visitor visa with the expectation of applying for a student visa unless he has someone, preferably a relative, willing to accommodate and support him throughout the lengthy application process. It's important to note that many schools have closed their applications for the April/May session, and seats for the August/September session are filling up quickly. If he plans to apply for college or university admission upon arrival, he may not secure a spot for the current academic year. His best course of action would be to seek a refund, either in full or partially, from the agent and apply from Nigeria, unless your family is willing to provide financial support while he's in Canada. Getting a job on a visitor visa is extremely challenging, if not impossible. * It seems the agent did not originally intend to apply for a student visa but opted for the easier visitor visa application. *If he doesn't have anyone in Canada to provide free accommodation, he should rethink his plans. 6 Likes |

He dose not have any one in Canada to stay with. Can we arrange accommodation for him when he arrive. quote author=Maydaygirl post=128460555] You can only secure short-term accommodation like Airbnb due to his current status. Please look up the cost per night in the city he plans to stay. How old is he? which Province is he coming to? How does he plan to sustain himself? What are his intentions while in Canada? Applying for a study permit while in Canada doesn't guarantee approval. He must apply as if he were in Nigeria and submit all required documents for international students. Navigating Canada as a student or permanent resident without guidance is challenging, let alone coming on a visitor visa. It's advisable for him to reapply from Nigeria. 1 Like |
