What is your solution Mr?
That Canada should stop giving visas?

I am not encouraging anyone here to falsify documents, after all you will be caught...
I am just irritated by the fact that you in particular always have this pompous assumption that Nigerians should be denied visa, not bearing in mind that others may have genuine travel reasons....
Everything in this world has everything to do with God, it’s just that we are too religious (jail us for that) allow people to hold on to their beliefs and don’t dismiss it totally...
You are either always pained (and I totally understand you because most Nigerians are always spoiling things for others) or you are a plain brutally honest person which is ok too, because we also need some brutal honesty in our lives to keep us in check.
But dial it down with your pompous “I know too much” mentality... you know nothing, I know nothing, we know nothing...
A lot of Nigerians are not coming back, don’t you know why?
How many Nigerians have good stable jobs, assets and can demonstrate wealth enough to stay back in this country....
Now for the sake of not being replied by you in particular again let me rephrase “I pray (yes to God) that everyone with genuine travel reasons who have applied for visa will have their visas approved!

For everyone here applying for visa, do not go there and make it hard for the next person, apply with the right documents, have a good reason to travel, I know you do, and when you get to your travel destination, do not give people like @orjohn reasons to come here and be discouraging others from traveling. God (yes the one that everything has to do with Him) bless us all!

I Never discourage anyone from traveling, but let's do things the right way. Your fraudulent actions and abuse of visas are not only going to affect you but also other honest travelers and applicants. The God I know is pure and not greedy or selfish. We should be our brothers' keepers, not only in words but in actions too!!

Lol. Pretty dumb. You must have checked my previous post, i wanted to travel 2020, but i had to stay back in nigeria and build a good profile. Not doing gambling with visa application. I told myself i would only apply once to any country of my choice. I took years to build a good profile. Family, Business, assets.

I did not make a choice to come to canada just because ppl are flocking to canada.

If I hadn't applied to canada, I would have gone to Portugal. I NO APPLY FOR VISA BECAUSE OF VISA BONANZA, OR BECAUSE ITS THE NEW TREND.

If my study visa was rejected, i would have gone for a "Judicial review". You know what that is? It means I would have challenged the decision of the vo.

You been here in canada less than 2 years even before u dream of having a passport , we know the protect letter people wrote including professors of african origin via the parliment in ottawa when ircc hardly approve africa student visa.Do a little research . go and check how many student visa issed 5 years ago and now And for visit visa, many people got visa after covid when the rules was relaxed for mass proxessing btw 2022 and 2023 to clear the backlog before then canada visit visa was never easy . I am disappointed with your unclear reasoning, especially considering that you are 29 years old with a bachelor's degree in political science from ABSU in 2018. I expected more from a political analytical viewpoint, and this situation reflects the shortcomings of our education system in failing our youth back home. It's disheartening !

Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by AskGod07: 2:49pm On Feb 13
Yea travel history count in some cases but there’s no rules stated that you need to travel to other countries before you can apply .

70% of those who are gotten visitor visa between 2020 till 2023 are first time traveler and come see them how they are tripping claiming asylum.

Most of them are here in Canada claiming asylum and government of Canada are so nice with them by giving them feeding allowance minimum of 300 cad, paying their house rent minimum of 350cad dirt and last and giving them dietary of 190 through the help of their case worker.

I am study here in Canada and I can categorically say that most people gotten visa from Nigeria including some study came in and claimed asylum.

Let people do what ever they want and face their music alone

Shalom

slimmsyyetty:
Travel history is one of the key factors a VO might use in denying an applicant's visa approval even if the VO couldn't see any other justifiable reason(s), as long as the he/she is unwilling to approve it

Permit me to re- phrase- Take or quote me anywhere, you need a travel history for some certain embassies (US, Canada and Schengen) in order to boost your over all chances of approval. Perhaps, if you have a good profile, and over 80% boils down to convincing the VO you will return back to your home country, YOU MAY BE CONSIDERED

Above all, GRACE MATTERS
Shalom!!!

Congratulations on your 4th year of marriage in December, and I hope IRCC grant your wife's visa soon. Maybe that will cool down your temper and lead to more logical reasoning and objective insight . the power of love, I guess. Also, I advise you to continue preparing for the IELTS and jump into the pool. Do not be deceived by the 3-year postgraduate work permit. Canada's policy on international students and temporary workers is rapidly changing, and you need not relax, thinking that with a 3-year PGWP, all is settled far in advance. International students are a significant factor in generating revenue for the government of Canada, and the path to PR is not guaranteed. That's my honest advice to you. Additionally, a judicial review can cost anybody a minimum of upward of $3000 and could take 6 months to 4 years to resolve. Instead if your student visa is refuse you can obtain a CBSA/GCMS note and reapply, addressing the previous visa refusal reasons, rather than going through the costly long judicial review process.

Good evening, please has anyone successfully extended their stay in Canada using the visitors record or does anyone have more information about it?
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Eriokanmi: 9:36pm On Feb 13
NuCypher:

I will quote you. Technically, you don't need travel history to visit any country. No embassy asks that you have travel history before you apply for their visa. However, it is a non-written rule that you need travel history to guarantee your visas to places like the US or Canada. In fact, if you have traveled to the US before and returned and not violated any of their country laws, you don't need to visit any US embassy again in your life to renew your visa. The last time I was at the US embassy was over 10 years ago. Since then, I just send my passport by mail for them to stamp a renewal on it. Also, if you have travlled to the US before and returned, Canada won't even take more than 1 month to process your visit visa. It's almost automatic as long as your documents check out. On the contrary, if you are applying with a virgin passport, prepare to wait as long as 3-4 months.

So, yes, there's an unwritten rule that travel history counts a lot.
I read this piece with keen interest. You said the last time you visited the US embassy was 10 years ago for visa and you've been sending your passport
via mail for visa stamping since then right? I would doubt this claim, provided you're not resident in Nigeria. There was a time the interview waiver was suspended in Nigeria for all B1/B2 applicants and we all had to appear for a visa interview. How were you able to obtain or renew your visa without appearing during these periods? This affected me as well and I've been traveling to America unhindered since 2004. Please shed more light.

It's simple. I had the visa already shortly before they stopped dropbox. And at some point moved to Canada where I also didn't have to go to the embassy. Only needed to send by Canada post to their office and it returned with a 10-year visa.

Living and applying from outside Nigeria has validated your claim. Because i remember in May 2019 when I wanted to renew via a drop box and they said they've suspended the IW programme. This went on for over 2 years and the longest visa validity one could get in Nigeria was 2 years as of then. They resumed the IW late 2022 with those whose visa had expired in the last 12 months, this was later extended to 24 months and further

I may have mixed up the timeline because I dropped my passport dec 2018 in dhl Abuja for Dropbox and they sent it back asking me to show up for interview and I remember it was shortly after Dropbox ended.

Clearly, they needed to re-interview a lot of people, possibly due to perceived security issues that some people, for whom interviews had been waived, needed additional checks. My guess is they wanted to weed out a few unscrupulous elements. Was out of the country by then anyways, and only applied for renewal from Canada.
