The Pentagon has shelved all futuristic next generation attack helicopter projects siting how drone warfare has come to dominate the battlefield as seen in the war in Ukraine. Drones are inexpensive and highly disposable components of air warfare that can operate as recon and both precision attack munitions at minimal cost. The future is drone warfare . |

I can not agree more with your assertion. Infact, Nigeria should ditch all future procurements of manned combat air assets and frames and concentrate on long endurance drones. The advantages of drones are too numerous to enumerate. 1 Like |

MrProlific95: There are both kamakazie suicide drones and reusable drones that deploy bombs and missiles. |

matify83: One of the major advantages of deploying drones is that a particular sector under terrorist control can be harassed constantly 24/7 . Night operations can be carried out by equipping drones with cheap infrared vision cameras unlike the case where conventional air combat operations are limited because of lack of more expensive gear for the piloting crew. One of the biggest draw back in the war against terror is that virtually all engagements are restricted to day time thus giving the terrorist a moment of reprieve at night. With cheap expendable loitering drones , the terrorists can be engaged day and night leading to great psychological drain. 1 Like |

NuclearWinter:Your assertion is very correct, but i guess most of these deals were made under buhari... Helicopter would still have multiple usage in cases of airlifting personnel and equipment |
