That's bad

If you didn't help this business man to subsidize his purchases and expenses, if you didn't give him the capital to set up or to operate, you have no rights to force him to sell at a particular price.

But this will always backfire, as more owners lock up or transfer their goods, or go underground, the goods will enter black market, and everyone who really needs it will pay triple the cost, at the point of death.

Buharri tried that in 1984, someone should please remind me how that matter ended?

Allow free market economy to dictate prices.

The management of the supermarket was accused of shortchanging customers by charging prices other than the price tag at the shelves.

You shouldn’t be writing that long jargons without reading this

Any form of price fixing regarding any product that is not produced by govenment is a bad idea. Go and ask the Venezuelans.
If government is doing it's job, no single individual can hoard goods and fix prices

Always looking for the worst examples.

So you support people exploiting Nigerians with exploitative prices?

There is consumer protections act and board, if you don't want to trade as a honest dealer, then close your shop. All these enemies of the nation always praying for the worst for this country, what a pathetic bunch.

This is laughable, Only market forces( demand and supply) can determine how people buy and sell
I supported Tinubu because I think he had more relevant experience but we need to call a spade a spade.
If he cannot perform let him step down please.

Let the FG revert to status quo first, all this crackdown on legitimate businesses won't solve anything.

Legitimate business, deceiving customers.

Yesterday, I went to Spar in Ilupeju to buy a blender and some other essentials. The prices displayed on was different when I wanted to pay. I just dropped their shits and walked out.

tinubu is clueless, it's obvious. This man had no plans.

How do you tell, some one the price to sell, the cost of Logistics has trippled just these few months, this aside, the cst of raw materials. Even the rent to store these goods are high.

So where does the sahad get money to sort these basic bills. Before to go down to reoccuring debts like workers salaries and damages even shoplifters.

Tinubu is mad.

FG should return fuel subsidy and unfloat the naira before doing anything sealing. Sealing shops will not solve any problem oga Bola. Open foreign boarders for rice and othe food items to come in to help crash the prices of food commodities and others.

Nice one.
The battle has always been the rich vs the poor.

The government needs to focus on creating industries and boosting SMEs instead of engaging in nonsense. If they had curbed insecurity, farmers would have returned to their farms, resulting in more foodstuffs for people to buy. So, tell me, what will happen after their so-called hoarding is finished?

You need to visit some market too, any market seeling things at an outrageous price should be locked, the whole market should locked.people need to to learn the hard way and stop putting people through unnecessary stress.

Ibos think they are smart, but the truth is no ibo man WILL rule this country let alone one idiot called obi.

It is not right to say this. Anybody from any tribe can rule Nigeria, our problem is the way we chose our leaders. The problem is not even about about the president alone but all the politicians irrespective of their tribe. If tribe is our problem some regions would have been like Dubai

Look at what a man they claimed built Lagos and will build Nigeria have reduced himself to…chasing traders to fix prices on goods in open markets in 2024.. lol…something that didn’t work in 1984 for buhari and in fact the scarcity it created was one of the reasons Babangida overthrew him in 1985 …what kind of mental laziness and cluelessness is this? I hope the dunce have plans to tackle the scarcity that is coming from this useless brain dead idea

This is a good move.
Greedy Nigeria business men and women in market places inflating prices must be dealt with.
Government should open the borders for food to come. Saving life from hunger and inflation is worth opening up the borders.

The law provides for government to clamp down on people exploiting the citizens with exorbitant prices.

Are you on the side of the crooks or the people?

Consumer protections act. No situation can be worse than what we are facing now, if you and them like, close down your business, it won't affect Nigeria.

Listen to urself...does this even sound okay to you...??..is it because u are not the trader.....

U can't force pple to sell below current market value....how will they restock their goods and remain in business...?

A government that doesn't subsidize a product has no business controlling the price of that product
