seanwilliam: Honestly, I think these are some good calls.. I hold a few of them too. The only problem with this beautiful collection is where do you plan to sell? Like that Naka and Ap13. You have to set a goal.... Cash out when?.... so you can have more buying power for 2026 or thereabout. |

Re: Crypto Currency Investors Thread by GRACEGLORY: 8:21am On Feb 19 |
ayomidan: Well, sir, you are not the only one who is asking this question, but most individuals are more concerned with profit and loss, what they may gain or lose, than with security. Hence the misunderstanding. Let us now disentangle the misunderstanding by addressing the main issue at the core. Reason for Saving in a stronger currency is beyond profit and loss. If you save in dollars, your money will be safe regardless of whether the Naira rises or falls. Here’s breaking it down… You will save #496,776.45 and I will save $301.90 if we decide to purchase a certain item for #496,776.45 (or $301.90) in Nigeria at the current exchange rate of 1,645.50 to $1. My $301.90 and your #496,776.45 are exactly equivalent. Since I have savings in USD, if, for example, the exchange rate lowers to N1,400 to the dollar in a month, my $301.90 will reduce from #496,776.45 to #422,660. Even though it looks like I lost #74,116.45, I still have the same purchasing power as you who has your money in Naira all the while since the same item is now $422,660. I can still buy the item even if Fx turns out to $1,800 to the dollar since my $301.90 can now be swapped for $543,420, which is the current price of the item. I don't need to get any additional funds. I don't have to save any more because my $301.90 is now worth #543,420, but in your own case, you will have to add more money(#46,643.55) to buy the same item. As a result, if you save in dollars, your money will be safe regardless of whether the Naira rises or falls. The most important factor is "SECURITY, not profit or loss.." EDITED This is typed and estimated in a hurry as I’m in transit and handling other things. Pardon the error, grasp the idea. 13 Likes 1 Share |

Re: Crypto Currency Investors Thread by lrman(m): 9:18am On Feb 19 |
narite: But economically he is right...if the dollar rate go down, the effect of inflation will still affect the value of the naira in your bank account most especially in a country with bad economy like Nigeria.. if you save 1million naira today , by next ten months ,the value of the 1million will have dropped and it will make the one million to look like the present value of 500k.. The only thing that can make savings of naira in your bank account to be better is if the inflation rate do not massively increase. So at least the value of that your naira in your bank account will not not also reduce massively .. For those that do not understand the economic jargons above...I will explain in lay-man terms by using the picture below...it says it all...one is plenty while the other one is just 1...but the value of that 1 is more than all the plenty notes combined together 1 Share
