If he goes after the major crypto companies, the companies will have no choice than to stop all transactions and ban all Nigerian users, give them a short time to withdraw their funds, and they might have no choice than to repatriate their funds back to naira.

Only neophytes will repatriate their funds to Naira out of fear.
In fact, a person can hold and spend crypto without touching the Naira.

The experienced people understand that those making the policy are crypto illiterate.
That explains their policy summersault.

Wow, no shaking. I use Binance just to do P2P. My main coins are in a hard wallet. I hammered with crypto in 2021. Hence my ability to Japa with the funds made. I thank God the day I learnt how to trade in crypto....

If you think they can, then you don't understand how crypto works.
You think the CBN will write to Binance, hey Binance, give me
all the crypto belonging to Nigerians and Binance will say, take it all my lord.

As what exactly?
The worst that can happen is a ban which will be meaningless to crypto savvy folks.

If you disagree, explain how the Nigeria government can seize crypto it does not own.
binance it's a registered company in Nigeria so it can fly not like Twitter.

you can't withdraw some coins, why for some the withdrawal charges is too high...... believe me Nigerian government can never ever stop cryptocurrency, you can't stop technology as far as human keeps evolving.

They actually can. Don't underestimate the power of the government. They could
- ban binance website and app from opening in Nigeria, like they did Twitter some years ago. Forget using VPN, Binance will ban you straight.
-Make a law that criminalizes and jails crypto users, like they did homosexuality. This will give free food to police as they will be actively looking for crypto related apps on people's phones.
- They could request KYC details of Binance users and go after them. BVN makes this easy for them. Remember Binance has office in Abuja and they are willing to cooperate with the government.
-They could track the phone numbers used to receive OTP on binance and the ISPs will cooperate with the government to out the crypto traders.

etc etc.

Just pray that the government doesn't go full force against Binance and Binance users in Nigeria.

Don't forget how the US government dealt seriously with the CEO of Binance, and he is likely going to face a jail term.

Buhari outright banned crypto. Did that stop anything?

Crypto is way bigger than Nigeria. Las las Binance might close their Nigerian offices, but there's too much money at stake for them to ban Nigerian users.

A good crypto trader can make someone else monthly salary in a day..If you know you know.
But why is it that it's dominated by men with questionable characters? I've never seen any self acclaimed crypto man that's not having dada, smoke or take drugs.
How many men of God are into crypto? Why is it only dada boys?

The worst that can happen is that Binance closes the P2P section.

P2P is just only one of the many ways to make money on Binance. Trust me all these funny moves by BAT are just chinks on an iceberg.

You cannot stop Nigerians on Crypto.

Paypal did not stop Nigerians

Clickbank did not stop Nigerians

Na Tifnubu wan come stop Nigeria?

I advised long ago for the government to create it own crypto coin/wallet that can appreciate over time but they refuse.
Now dollar is rising like crypto.
How many people with existing crypto coins save with ngn, even if the government does they'll still end up converting it into usdt, so it's still a loss for the govt

Do you people actually make money from this crypto true true?

I don't even take anyone into this crypto thing seriously, it's same as betnaija gambling to me and if not why is it only men that do the crypto thing and the very few women involved are tomboy?

Dey play.
Ignorance is a disease true true.

If only you are sincere to know, if only you can have an open mind.
If only you are ready to learn and unlearn,
Then and only then will you see exactly and know what we know and enjoy what we enjoy.

See, there are different ways to this things.
There are people who invest say $100 buy a coin and leave it, just like stocks. When the price rises , they sell it off.

There are people who do day trading or swing trading.
These ones are very active in the market.
They analyze the price movement, then trade along that line.

There are those who do future trading.
These ones also analyze and then predict if the price will rise or fall.
They then BUY(LONG) or SELL (SHORT) as the case may be.
They end up in profit if their analysis is right , wait patiently for as long as it takes the market to go in their favor trade cautiously with good risk management.
There are also those whose interest is just simple buying and selling.
Eg you can use your money to buy the coin say USDT at #1000/$, leave it in your wallet and when you see a willing buyer, you sell at a higher price for profit.
I personally use OPM (other people's money). I have different customers who trust me with their millions.
They reach out to buy, I go into the market get the best deal , add my commission then quote my own price , more often than not they buy from me. Not because they don't know I have added my own to make profit but because they know I can't scam them. TRUST is the key word for me.

Just 1 single deal can pay my house rent(when I was still renting), pay my kids school fees.

What you don't know is what you don't know.
With this, you think someone like me will call crypto gambling or a scam?
Rose, just dey play you hear.

Learn it well, then choose where or at what level you want to play.

Simple.

Let us ignore the fact that Binance and all other foreign exchanges are not properly registered in Nigeria.

What is the total asset of Binance in Nigeria?
I mean, what can the government seize as Binance property here in Nigeria.

I will leave more knowledgeable people to answer your question about making money from it.

But for your question about women being in the space, it's an off shoot of tech which in and off itself is male dominated. So it's expected that crypto would be male dominated. About not taking anyone into crypto seriously, that's normal. Years ago, no one took emails seriously and never thought that email would surpass snail-mail for business communications. Today, any business that exclusively relies on snail-mail is dead ab initio. And yes, there are people that make legit money from crypto, and it's not similar to gambling.
