I can still login and trade, I don't know where this misleading information is coming from!
It will take effect in the morning. Exactly 8am. Better to change your usdt to Segwit 2 wallet btc for now. Electrum will help. This will be a serious issue and your money can hang for more than 2 years if you're not proactive and this is one of the major problem of hot wallet.

Both online and offline forex trading contribute so much to the problem. Online only makes it worse. Nigerians contribute so much to the destruction of their country but are experts in shifting the blame somewhere else.

The people trading ngn/usdt peer are raking in easy money without adding any value to the economy. But they are happy while the country is been destroyed because they are gaining. How are they different from the politicians who destroy the country just for personal gain. I keep saying it, Nigerian's don't hate corruption, they are just angry that they are not the ones benefiting.

We are neither nationalistic nor patriotic. All Nigerians believe in ripping the system once there's an opening to do so.

Good, we can't allow a few greedy people enrich themselves on the detriment of our collective economic growth, and threat of economic disaster and social unrest. Government must do everything to bring down this value of the dollar.

please currency hoarders I know everyone wants to make a profit, but sabotaging your nation's economy to make a quick buck, is evil.

Good!

A country that does not know economic security will learn the hard way like Nigeria is doing now.

Nigeria needs to reach out and learn from countries that have mastered the art of economic control and economic security.

In Nigeria anything goes.

Some even think it is their fundamental right to save up dollars inside Nigeria.

Left to me anyone who is not getting foreign remittances into their domiciliary account, should have any dollars they have stacked up till now, converted at a rate of $1 = N1.

If you have stacked up $20,000 within Nigeria, my government will convert it to N20,000 for you.

It is obvious you have more than enough to be contributing to the economic terrorism that is going on within the country, so we will help you with a conversion tax that will make you love your own Naira.

Na now the government begin wake up that you do not show mercy to wicked Nigerians.

You can only do that when your government has no interest in dealing with you. During Twitter ban in Nigeria while Twitter people boycotted the ban through VPN do you know that the trend and topic base of each Nigerian are reflected only on the database of the country of the said VPN.

You can't win against government when they mean bussiness. Pray the government won't go too far or else you will understand why Americans and other west tech savvy people prefer to use cold wallet to hold their crypto asset.

ur first paragraph is what I am talking abouts

It won't have much effect on Nigeria so far vpn assumes they are not trading in Nigeria.

We are on same side bro.

I am also attacking those saying vpn to the rescue. If u use vpn and ur vpn says u re in France then it won't affect Nigeria because we belive u re trading from France so its still a win for the government.

Now imagine, this same dollar is currently trading for 1600 now dropping from 1980 just within two hours ooh

A bitter jealous person who is living very comfortably.

Who am I jealous of?

Is it the thieving politicians stacking up dollars or the Nigerians who with crumbs are buying dollars for a profit and driving up prices for those who need it for actual importation?

I repeat, you do not show mercy to wicked Nigerians.

Aby Nigerian hoarding dollars cash and in their domiciliary accounts, despite not receiving any foreign remittances, deserves to lose everything.

Is your head not correct?
How can a government wake up without previous announcement and block the account of legitimate traders because some others are using it for currency manipulation?
If we know our rights in this country we will sue the govt because up till now, no law prohibits crypto trading in Nigeria!!
I have never seen a country in this world that totally blocked all crypto transactions without any prior notice no matter what is happening, even the strong-headed Putin and POTUS! or China!
And someone is here hailing this insensitivity!

There is no fundamental right to trade crypto.

Many countries have banned crypto.

Nigeria can ban it if it wants. Of course banning will not stop it, but it will push the activities underground with the likely result that only the most passionate traders will continue trading it.

If people know they face 15 year jail term for illegal trading, many will stop trading. Only the extremists will continue trading.

The Nigerian government has more levers it can pull. If extreme levers are needed, it can apply them and there's nothing speculators can do. They can cry to the UN, AU, FIFA, Girls Scouts or anybody they like.

Many ignoramuses are wallowing here, what is this @bolded, when was trading crypto criminalised?
Study how other countries banned crypto then come back let's talk.
You don't ban crypto and let the citizens loose their funds, you announce a time frame and let them withdraw their money before any ban!

Above all kill corruption. Use a few top rated people as examples and see how the country would fall in line but alas he that comes to equity must come with clean hands

Buhari did all these knee jerk response during his time. Where did it lead us to

The govt keep doing the same things and expecting different responses. Kole werk

Most of the people that really campaigned for the present administration did so in the hopes of making returns from the proceeds of blatant state supervised corruption.
Telling this administration to kill corruption is like telling a man to shoot his own balls.
Trying to kill corruption in this administration is just like trying the same in the immediate past administration, it's next to impossible!

Finally, someone with his/her thinking cap on.

The Nigerian government is in many ways, a function of the Nigerian mindset. They believe in fighting the symptoms instead of facing the root cause.
