The whole world is slowing. A lot of over leveraged businesses are folding up. The US interests rate is at an all time high about 8%. The UK interests rate is also high, So is Australia, Japan etc Very few business can borrow money and guarantee and interest greater than 8% to pay back. So a lot of multinationals are cutting back, its time for Nigeria to look inwards, cheaper food, cheaper housing. Government should look for people who are agriculturally minded in crops and animal husbandry, send them to brazil and China on scholarship(3-6 months), Let them learn how these people mass produce crops and animals. All those billionaires with Oil wells and those Oligarchs with Monopolies should also run farms to assist their communities. They should contribute their quota, Nigeria cannot abandon farming to the poor rural people and share the lucrative businesses licenses amongst the elites. We have over 100 accredited college courses of agriculture in Nigeria. 40 Likes 5 Shares

malali:Same in Canada too. The interest rate on lending is currently very high and it seems Canada escaped recession by whiskers. It's not out of the threats of recession yet as that would depend on how fast the bank of Canada can adjust it's monetary policy. 10 Likes 1 Share |

malali: Lol We have over 150 institutions already, offering agricultural courses. The question is what do you have for them upon graduation? Most of these people will end up selling Ankara and bags on WhatsApp. Some end up in the bank. 7 Likes 2 Shares |

JagabanB: The world has developed farming tactics, that we dont have in Nigeria. The farmers in Nigeria are mainly local, Science and technology has changed a lot. There are hybrids, pesticide resistant seeds, A lot has changed. We need to learn these new technologies and come and implement them. 1 Like |

The whole world is crying of recession and economic meltdown, but the American economy of about 300 million people added over 200k last month. God must have given Americans a special kind of brain. That's why many countries like Canada copy them, while others like Nigeria want to empty into Amelika |
