Now That Aba Is About To Have 24/7 Electricity... by IamAtikulate: 8:45am On Feb 23 |
It's no news that the Aba Geometric Power will be commissioned on 26th February, 2024. As an integrated power project, Aba will generate, transmit, and distribute her power. This means that the city will now enjoy 24/7 power supply. What are your expectations for this city? Wish us good luck. 12 Likes 2 Shares |

Nairalander248:Ok. The project will be commissioned on the 26th and your President will be in Aba to experience Igbo man ingenuity. We solved the power problems Nigeria couldn't since 1960. Anambra power project is coming up really fast and theirs is over 1500 MW. 24 Likes 4 Shares |

Aba people should pay their power bills because electricity is not cheap. Most of us clamour for 24/7 power supply but we don't even know that we cannot afford it. Geometric should supply its own meter and have a system for tracking power supply and bills because you cannot stop a Nigerian from bypassing their meter, especially when power supply is steady. If you refuse to pay your power bill, you will run Geometric out of business. BTW, other states with gas should also emulate Geometric Energy. We should gradually end this national grid nonsense. Every state should start generating, transmitting and distributing power. By the way, I can never supply power to residents if I own a power company. Instead, I will focus on companies and offices. 24 Likes 1 Share |

manutdrichie: Yes, you have a point. Now that power supply has been moved to the concurrent list, governors in states with gas reserves should start investing in power generation, transmission and distribution. That's a means of making a lot of money for the state. That way, they increase their IGR and GDP. Businesses are closing shops because they depend on generators to run. 5 Likes |

Lack of electricity has a aura of depression. The mood is always down when their is no light for a long time. Honestly, I would migrate to anywhere with stable light. If they do not spoil it with insecurity, it would be attractive to businesses. 13 Likes 1 Share |

Expect massive industrial activities, if the pricing is fair. If it's not, then nothing much will change. But then a cluster of fraudsters would move there to take advantage of the constant light. The company in charge should also be ready to fight dirty if they want to remain afloat. Anybody wey bypass meter, you touch am wire small or leave am for cell. 9 Likes 1 Share |

Goodday90:This man performed wonders in the power sector then, power supply improved tremendously under him. If I remember correctly he resigned due to conflict of interest with this particular project. When it comes to assembling the best minds to oversee every sector of the economy, Goodluck Jonathan stands out as the undisputed champion. 12 Likes 2 Shares |

When Aba starts having that 24/7 electricity, I might decide to start living in Igboland — which means kissing two birds with one stone. |

SoNature: Don't worry about us. SoNature:Nothing concerns Geometric with distribution. Aba Power is in charge of that and those guys are not smiling. SoNature:Anambra has several power station projects that are ongoing. They will become an energy powerhouse if they can pull them all off. SoNature:And who will give you license? Anyways, that was Geometric original business model but the FG stopped them. |

manutdrichie:You are right. Over 1,500 MW of power project is ongoing in Anambra and will power Onitsha. I am praying for them to complete that project |

Manager001: You burn 3k per day because you don't have an option of stealing petrol from a filling station and going scot-free. If you did, the story wouldn't be the same. With NEPA light, you can bypass your meter and nobody will know. For many Nigerians who aren't into crime yet, it's not as though they are principled; they just lack the opportunity. 4 Likes |

Manager001: My message is simple - everyone using Geometric power should pay their bills so you don't kill that company. Own and treat that company like yours because you have something many people are praying for. As for logic, forget it because logic doesn't work in Nigeria. If it did, Nigeria wouldn't be in this messy state. By and large, Nigerians are overwhelmingly dubious, opportunitistic and hypocritical. 8 Likes |

manutdrichie:Yeah. Private individual. The project developer is Century Power Generation LTD, a subsidiary of Nestoil, owned by Obijackson. The first phase is about 495MW, which is enough to power the whole Anambra, will be ready by 2026. For context, the all-time peak power generation EVER attained in Nigeria was 5,801 MW, which averages 156.7 MW for each state. So, 495 MW should fully power Anambra state. 9 Likes |
