Was the accusation not that instead of her being with her husband in Germany by his side, she held the state to ransom, forging her husband signature to still hold onto power, continued holding to power and running the state when the right thing to do was to handover

Just like Turai did that time running Nigeria without the constitutional right to do so while the rightful Jonathan was held back

That's not what I'm referring to . There was one ediot called Jimi Adeleke that was running his mouth talking about how she's a bad wife and saying Akeredolu would not have died if he married from his tribe . He said people from Betty's tribe only care about money .

He kept calling her a bad wife when he's not the one married to the woman . Akeredolu till his death has always expressed his love for the woman . But somehow people like that Jimi Adeleke have nothing but bad things to say about the woman they never lived with for one day .

People can say all sorts for political reasons ; but there are lines decent and reasonable people shouldn't cross . He kept making everything about her tribe , how she colonized him and how he married wrongly . I have little or no respect for people like that

In my opinion, this is disgusting.

Spend one-fifth of her lines throwing shades.

Well, her husband, her family, her tribute

Nwanne, there couldn’t have been a better time to give it to them hot! One year from now, only very few would even remember his anniversary, so this is the best time.

You think the bulk of them that gathered genuinely loved Akeredolu? The one wen be deputy wen dey grow Akeredolu style of beards, you no see his workings during and after baba die?

Nobody knows a man better than his wife and she knows more things than anyone of us, especially when you consider how long they had been together.

She addressed those that attacked her when her husband was sick and he died.

Na she get her issue. She be like all those "I will just say my mind" girls

Aketi is gone

Unconfirmed reports say 7 people have died while attempting to collect customs 25kg rice.

Same thing happened in PH when Kings asssembly decided to share free food. 31 people lost their lives.

What a woman!

It's easy to say what a woman when u are not in her shoes . U clearly don't know what a man's prolonged sickness does to a wife's mental health .

I pray and hope u don't get to see and learn these things first hand .

Whatever she wrote there is from a place of pain ! It hurts so bad seeing u sacrifice ur time , freedom and personal enjoyment to sit and nurse ur partner of many years like a baby and what do u get for it ? People who never loved him but profess their love on social media and newspapers denigrating u, calling u all sorts and some even claiming he would've lived long if he didn't marry u! Someone that died of a terminal disease that has no cure o.

U are writing "what a woman" as a clear headed man who don't know the sweet and blissful relationship the woman enjoyed with her husband for years and the bitterness and resentment she experience from his people outside their marriage .

He's an idiot obviously. I've noticed that's his stock-in-trade on this board - tagging people so they clash for flimsy entertainment. Just like he tags me regularly when the Shalli-whatever-listening nitwit makes his usual feminine snide 'kikiki' remarks.
---

Oh! For avoidance of doubt, I stand by everything I stated about Unoma Akpabio, Godswill Akpabio's wife. I posted evidence of her atrocities and she'd forever be in our blackbook for the antics she tried to pull as First Lady of Akwa Ibom.
She's more subtle than Betty Akeredolu but she's just as nepotistically tribalistic, but we have woken up to her.

You must be out of your mind if you think I haven't repeated the same sentiments on the larger internet with my full names on it.

For all of what I claimed, I have evidence for and even posted some links. No apologies. The nerve of that woman to try to flood our civil service with her people as First Lady when her own people wouldn't tolerate it.

Ondo people might have tolerated Betty forcing her kinsperson as LG boss, but not us. We told her to her face and gave her husband an ultimatum.

DissTroy:

Not exactly. But the OP is right about Igbo wives being nepotistic and giving jobs to their Igbo relatives alone.

Nneoma Akpabio as Governor's wife was notorious for scheming Igbo people into Akwa Ibom State civil service until we fought back and kicked them all out. ALL OUT. It was so bad Igbos began boasting they control Akwa Ibom.

It's one of the reasons any person contesting as Governor or Senator in Akwa Ibom with an Igbo wife has another hurdle. It worked against Nsima in 2019.

Same thing Akeredolu's wife did.

Igbo first ladies are notorious for trying to hijack what rightly belongs to indigenes to their Igbo relatives. I trust Da Zion Umoh. Now that he's mentioned it, it would be addressed.

Akpabio had to plead when it got to a head as Governor. We'd revisit the issue and address it. If it isn't addressed, Akpabio would pay for it during the elections.

But Akpabio has used his power as Senate President to help a lot of Akwa Ibomites though. Many people I know have been appointed into high and federal offices, including a very close associate of mine recently. Many got civil service jobs too.
Nneoma Akpabio, like most Igbo first ladies married outside their tribes, tends to overdo it. The Igbos wouldn't have taken it if Obi's wife (an Ibibio) tried that as first lady in Anambra.

They scream tribalism but dish it out on a daily.

2.

DissTroy:

Dude, shush it! I'm Ibibio. Unoma Akpabio, like most Igbo first ladies, is notorious for that. It almost cost her husband a second term as Governor when Akwa Ibom people revolted against her. She toned down in 2015 but has begun again.

We'd never forget how she tried to flood Akwa Ibom State Civil Service with Igbos and the prejudice she displayed at Maitama, Uyo. No Igbo state would tolerate it.

Her antics has put a question mark on the ambition of politicians with Igbo wives in the state. Ask anyone versed in Akwa Ibom politics to confirm this.

3.

DissTroy:

No, it's tribalism when the only relatives you help are from your tribe. I repeat, Igbo first ladies are very notorious for this and it fuels some of the sentiments against Igbos in many places. I haven't even described one-twentieth of how nepotistic Nneoma Akpabio was a First Lady. Thank goodness my people woke up to tame her.

Same way Betty Akeredolu has killed the chances of any Ondo Governorship candidate with an Igbo wife.

No matter how nepotistic and domineering any of the presidential first ladies we've ever had were/are, I can guarantee you, if those first ladies were Igbo women, they'd do worse.

I state this knowing someone would quote this in the future on a thread I frequent here and I stand by it, including on any platform.

DissTroy:

No, I've never paid for sex in my life and never will.

When Unoma Akpabio through her foundation as First Lady was relocating prostitutes from Maitama - prostitutes who are chiefly Igbo (ask anyone to confirm) - around 2012/2013, she paid them between #50,000 to #100,000 as support money so they vacate the area, while she chased the few other prostitutes of other tribes away without the same financial support to go earn a decent living.

Again, ask anyone who knows.

5.

DissTroy:

Sag.eb, to add to it, I just dug up a blog post which brushed on the Maitama, Uyo debacle from 2014 (although it didn't accuse her of anything specific but we knew the inside story):

https://theinknewspaper..com/2014/05/life-in-maitama-after-unoma-akpabios.html?m=1

I mentally archive these instances and lexically document them for posterity sake. We know who she is. It didn't start today.

Never again will such ever happen in Akwa Ibom. Never! And we'd defend it with our blood. That seed of distrust and skepticism has forever been sown. And with what happened in Ondo, we'd take even tighter measures to forestall it.

It's no longer a stereotype when same people always do the same thing - it's a culture. smiley

https://www.nairaland.com/8010470/sanwo-olu-request-fg-permit-importation

" Sanwoolu to request FG to permit importation of rice paddy for Imota mill"

I find this news concerning ; It sounds more like the Imota rice mill was constructed to be milling rice that is not locally available in the first place .

More like we don't have enough rice paddy to begin with ; yet we went ahead to construct a rice mill. Now Sanwoolu is mauling the idea of importing rice paddy then milling same at the rice mill.

He hopes farmers will be encouraged to go back to rice farming afterwards . undecided. What if the farmers don't go back to farming due to Insecurity , Fulani herdsmen and rising costs of living ? What then happens ? Will another batch of rice paddy be imported for milling or will the mill just remain idle ?

I swear by God and everything sacred in the universe, the prostitutes at Maitama in Ewet Housing Estate, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State are chiefly Igbos. The area has been mostly cleared of such people, but at the height of their operations when prostitutes flooded that place, they were IGBOS.

That's why Unoma Akpabio had to intervene to give them money (Akwa Ibom money) to go make something decent of their lives before government cleared that place.

I wouldn't know. I don't patronise prostitutes. But whenever prostitution jibes are made, we know Akwa Ibom isn't the first five target.

We know those with a culture of money over everything and those who are infamous for even international prostitution. And it's not Akwa Ibom. But let's not get into that.
-----

The main point was and is what Unoma Akpabio tried to do to Akwa Ibom by taking what's rightful ours to her people, like Betty Akeredolu did. Never again would such people get an in-road into our patrimony.
Obi's wife (an Ibibio) never tried to take what belongs to Anambra people for her people.
