KillahPriest: Obidients in the external affairs ministry and all other ministries and agencies and wherever they hide to perpetrate evil. Not to mention Obi himself who should be put under surveillance. |
Re: Qatar: Letter Leaked By Mischief Makers, Tinubu Not Snubbed - Onanuga by HarunaWest(m): 9:53pm On Feb 24 |
KillahPriest:Theres nothing embarassing about the letter. Nigerian chamber of commerce and Industry failed to make business contact with the qatari authorities. They wanted to just capitalize on President Tunubu's state visit to initiate business talk and the qatari side refused. If it were in Nigeria, such proposal would have been approved because we are opportunistic in nature. This is what eye service causes. When people that have no idea of their job functions are manning those positions. 7 Likes 1 Share |

HarunaWest: ^^^ There is. There is! The first embarassment was the rejection of the request for a business meeting...but the real twist of the knife was in the reasons for the rejection. Within the entire bureacracy of Nigeria's Foreign Affairs ministry, not a single official could figure out that there isn't a treaty between both countries on investment promotion and protection? The Qataris said their Commerce & Industry minister would be busy outside Qatar during BAT's visit and as such, would not be able to attend the BIF meeting. Which of course raises the question of why the BIF was not scheduled at the same time as the State visit? It is noteworthy that the Qataris did not even entertain the possibility of a stand in for the Minister! The third reason for rejection (and the most damning of all) is that "the State of Qatar will be hosting a web summit during the suggested period and the State's authorities will be preoccupied with this event". Note that the reference is to the State of Qatar... and not the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (which would have been responsible for the BIF meeting if it were to hold). Which then raises the question: Why would the Qataris allow a state visit by BAT and then issue a statement saying the State of Qatar would be 'busy' with a web summit during the same period? This is the dictionary definition of "see finish". 10 Likes |

Ok... Makes sense. As much as apc has shown itself to be incapable of good governance, these matters should not be overblown. Hopefully the President’s visit to Qatar would not be turned into a jamboree. Because if business cannot be discussed, then what's the essence especially at this time when scarce resources need to be well managed. |

ElSudani:the average Bulaba bandit believes all Igbos are Obidients therefore, your thinking is that all Igbos in MDA's should be sacked due to your silly and unsubstantiated claims. I shouldn't have even bothered replying you but I just want to put it on record that I hate your ilk with a passion, your type has made the country very tedious and perpetually tense with tribal bigotry and unwarranted hatred instead of telling your principals to do their damn jobs properly. Those ones know they can get away with governmental ineptitude as long as people like you are there to whip up and distract others with ethnic baiting and attacks. Ask any sociologist you know who's well grounded in the course what trajectory Nigeria is headed then bow your head in shame for being a willing tool for this tragedy. Have a lovely week 3 Likes |

Agbegbaorogboye: Yes it does. But if business cannot be discussed, then the trip is going to be a waste of resources. Also, it shows that this administration is using a scatter gun approach to governance because ordinarily, informal discussions would have been held before a formal request for the business meeting was made. The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Nigerian embassy staff at Qatar should be sanctioned for embarrassing the Country. 2 Likes |

Re: Qatar: Letter Leaked By Mischief Makers, Tinubu Not Snubbed - Onanuga by Urgent1Million: 8:35am On Feb 25 |
Does it really matter how the letter made its way to public space? He should have said the letter is forged. Someone should please tell onanuga that we can read!! The content of the letter really does not need any interpretation. Just that they choose to embarrass themselves as usual. They didn't want to have a business meeting for reasons stated in the letter. What Onanuga and co should do now is to guide the president to foster a better image of himself (assuming that's possible anyway) and the country to avoid other countries doing something like this again. In as much as they made it clear that the minister of commerce and other officials will be busy on those days, they'd have arranged for someone people in their commerce ministry to meet with the Nigerian delegation of they had any regard for Nigeria. It is not possible for every single officer in the ministry of commerce to be busy on those days. They just don't see the need to have such a meeting when the country at the moment doesn't even seem investment friendly. |

ElSudani: This game of relating every faux pas to ethnic, party and other subjective affiliation sentiments is stale and most people can see through the lame attempt to tribalise and profile issues. If a Caucasian should direct the statements you make towards you, you will be screaming Racism, ethnic profiling and discrimination based on affiliation. But here you are being as racist as the worst of them. 1 Like |

Anyway, I don't know anything about leaking of documents in regards to president planned business visits to Qatar. FG does not need reactions on all information which didn't emanated from any FG institutions. Some time it's not necessary. |
