How many days after drop box does the visa renewal or visa approval come out ?

Drop box for my husband took about 5weeks.
Submitted first week in January and picked up second week in Febraury

Sorry about your mum's ordeal and thank God she is still alive .

1. If she doesn't want to lose the MRV payment , print out the copy of her International passport and report it as stolen or lost in the police post which falls in the jurisdiction (the city where she lost it) of the attack.

2. There is no more need to go to Abuja for name correction or whatever as regard to Nigeria Passport according to the new Immigration law . Go online (Nigeria Immigration websites) and look out for the appropriate section , ie name correction , lost of passport , etc . Or at worst she can work into any of the passport office and tender the police report .

3. If she can pay money , she should be able to have a new passport in the next 2 months . Thereby , you will fill another DS 160 and continue with her visa appointment Application .

How do I answer the following questions during interview

1. What is your purpose of visiting US
2. Why did they invite you for the convention

I bought non-immigrant (B1/B2) visa US visa fees and booked the appointment for 2024 around May 2022, I saw an email recently that reminded of my interview in 2 months time but an information popped up at their website saying any visa fees paid before October 1 2022 is not valid anymore. I am quite confused and want to be sure if the money paid then is not valid for the appointment again. The image attached shows the information of the message on their website (usatraveldocs). Kindly suggest what to do.

1. Anything financial / fund / charity donation etc activities in the United States is not taken with levity because there are lot of organizations that uses such occassion for fraudulent purposes.

2. For you to be taken serious at the US embassy , your present job or profession must be related to such occasion , and you or your organisation must have being doing the same fund raising or charity donation activities with genuine evidences back in your country or anywhere .

3. Another aspect to be consider is that you must be part of the fund raising organizers (online or physically etc ), or you must be part of the campaigners or speakers on that day etc which must be stated in your invitation letter .

4. *** My friend , if the above narrative is not in anyways related to you, then i would rather you abandoned this idea because you are even going for quasi-political activities which is being frown at by the US embassies .

Yes, the fee you paid is no longer valid. You need to pay again at the current rate

Good day people, please can one schedule student visa interview appointment without I20? Apparently, one has to get the I20 before the interview.

First wrong thread, second yes you can but make sure you have your original I-20 on the appointment date.

Unused visas should not significantly impact your outcome, as they can be explained during the renewal process. Drawing from personal experience, when I renewed my visa in 2021 after holding an unused one from 2019-2021, both the consular officer and the U.S. border officer asked about it and I told them it was due to COVID-related reasons. They were understanding, and it wasn't a hindrance. In my opinion, an unused U.S. visa does imply an intent to not relocate. You can confidently proceed with renewing your visa via dropbox without fearing any negative consequences.

1. Time line varies it can take 1 to to 2 months but hopefully it comes early for you just keep an eye on your email.
2. You’re correct the available dates will pop up for you to choose from.

I don’t know if their appointment for pickup is working now. As at last year, after several failed attempted to schedule one, a relative went to pickup without scheduling any.

So I had the same experience and below is what happened to me just this Monday:

- My request was approved within 48hrs.

- So when it is approved, you will be able to "Continue' to pick a date from the range of available dates in the calendar that pops up as we were able to before this new process.

- Well, the only available dates from what popped up for me was from May 2025. So I had to pick a date in May Next Year. To be honest, it's a leisure visit visa so it's fine by me. What has to happen is to make sure you update your application forms and profile before then if you still wish to attend the interviews at a later date plus travel at a later date.

Hmmmmmm. Dicey one. Do they really need you to be in the event? How important are you to the organisation? Why not apply just for visit/ holiday?
