Power BI: Use And Specialisation by Midlifecrysys74: 9:25am On Mar 01 |
I would like to ask about Microsoft Power BI. What can I achieve with it? What job opportunities can I use it to pursue? Can I become relatively proficient in 3 months if I ensure to maintain 6-10hours? I'm quite interested in the course. Software developers and Data Analyst or anyone with experience should kindly share some light. |

Midlifecrysys74: Do you mean 6-10 hrs daily? If Yes, you will be proficient enough. Power BI is only for Visualization so your work will be within data analysis. If you have no prior knowledge in analysis, I advise you to learn Excel and SQL. With this, you can clean your data before importing into Power BI. When you get to power BI, Learn DAX functions. It's very important |

nnamdiosu: Will there be other tools I need to learn? I think part of my challenge is that I'm failing to see the practicalities behind it and what exactly I can achieve. Generally how do I get started. You haven't shared your number/website yet. It appears you are into things like this and software development. |

Vodkka: I meant weekly though. Like averaging 2hours daily. My work days can get stretched often. I do know some excel and would be happy to learn more if it helps but I have never worked with SQL before. Which course do you recommend in Power BI. My goal is to achieve proficiency and skill to be able to be able to freelance with this. Thanks for the input so far |

Midlifecrysys74:You can become a professional analyst capable of reporting and visualizing data in a wide range of different styles, including graphs, maps, charts, scatter plots, and more. Midlifecrysys74:You can get data analyst jobs within Nigeria or by working remotely as a freelancer for foreign companies. Midlifecrysys74:6-10 hours a day is too much. Power BI isn't that complex. But yes you would definitely become proficient if you invest this kind of time learning it. If I'm to add, Power BI is basically about data visualization via importation. So if you don't have knowledge of SQL and Excel like @Vodkka pointed out, you're going to be screwed. Midlifecrysys74:The course is good straight forward and very easy to learn. What you should note when learning it is that your trainer wouldn't teach you everything. So personal practice and watching YouTube videos must be something you shouldn't joke with if indeed you truly want to learn it. Good luck. |
