Atouke:Guy, generating electricity can be done by the state. It is not the sole preserve of the federal govt. Lagos State Government already generated 47.5 Megawatts (MW) through its' state-owned 5 Independent Power Plants (IPP), in the last six years. 1 Like |

Atouke: So because I ask for things to be done properly and appropriately. It means I hate Udom? I'm seeking attention when businesses are taxed punitively and amenities are not provided? So because I ask for investments into the state's education system, I've become a hater of Udom? So because I ask why ensure the closure of The Ibom Specialist Hospital and not rehabilitate IBB Way. I've become a member Haters' Club, Uyo Chapter? You're a cretinous fvcktard and a product of failed parenting and poor nutrition! 3 Likes 1 Share |

Gerrard59: LaudableXX: Lol this guy can't learn the government already has permission to upgrade the power plant to 685 MW. He's allowed to build in stations to direct power to certain areas. He already promised to 24/7 power in 5 Local governments. Lol now's he's blaming federal government in him not investing money into power. Atouke: Leave him he wants his stadium and church the governor is building. The federal government is to blame for this issue. Be a proud member of the hatetocracy. He can be the political prostitute. Ibom Power is a state government owned gas fired power plant that was licensed on May 12, 2008 to operate a 190 megawatts plant. The company on December 19, 2014 submitted an application to amend its license to 685mw. That application was approved on October 27, 2015. He said the technology of getting steady light in the five Local Government Areas is not rocket science, and that with the support of the Transmission Commission of Nigeria,TCN, that vision will be realized. Ceteris paribus if 35 MW can sustain 24/7 power for 5 Local governments. That would mean for all 31 local governments need 217 MW. The rest can be sold. 1 Like

The Eket stadium can be used for athletics, while the Bird’s nest in Uyo could be used only for football. |

Good development but I wish Nigerian government will start allocation fund for research and tech developments in various areas of science and technology. The benefits of this these areas will last a long time for sale of posterity 1 Like 1 Share |

Atouke: There is no difference between stadia and looting money. Infact, to burst your bubble, politicians still loot money through stadia construction by contract over-inflation, kickbacks and delaying the project completion. So what is the difference? Stadia too does not provide jobs for our teeming youths unlike the construction of factories and creation of a conducive business environment. You can all see why most Nigerian voters need social orientation re-engineering especially with regards to election affairs. Unfortunately, I am not and not willing to be a role model or change agent, got a lot of issues on my plate currently I'm dealing with. Someone else has to do that. 1 Like |

sunnyside16:No, so a 2nd stadium should not be built, since the 1st one has not shown signs of profitability yet. It would be better to divert the money into more important infrastructure, that would benefit the masses. |

Willexmania:make millions in each match day? from where? please stop this lies. even Kano Pillars that have the highest fans based don't make millions in each match day. ticket is 200 and 500 , where is the millions you are talking about with empty seats everywhere. 1 Like |

Evestar200:Don't mind him. As if we don't know what the crowd capacity is like, in that stadium at Uyo. It is only when international matches are played there, that you see the seats getting filled. When any local training matches played there, you can count the number of spectators inside the stadium, and you will see many empty seats left over, waiting to be filled and getting no takers. |

LaudableXX:I never wanted to partake in this Stadium argument because my States has More than 9 stadiums and another is being reconstructed for the hosting of Africa Athletic Championship. but I have to correct that lie. I follow Nigeria league every minute and hour and Akwa United has one of the lowest fans based in the league. Stadiums seat are always empty in each match day, I don't even think if they will have up to 500 people In each match day. I don't see the reason why someone will lie just to defend a government. 1 Like |

Whats wrong with Nigerians? Is public infrastructure designed to make money? Govt. is not a bussiness, thier purpose is for human development not for money making. There are certain projects that only Govt. can provide like roads and drainages for example, how many roads make money? even the tolled ones abroad only recover a fraction that was invested in building them. Thats why its a public infra structure. Another example, Public Library/ public Schools are they built to make money? No, they are for public good. Sports stadiums are built by Govt for Public good The primary goal is not to make money. Yes even the big stadium abroad google any of the big stadiums and see how much money they make for the city directly form gate takings. Most clubs abroad especially in the USA, The stadium are owned by city/county Govt. and not the clubs, the city does not make money directly from the stadium takings but mostly indirectly from other bussiness that they attract and the human development that it will attract to their cities and its people. Do athletes/ football players pay taxes? do managers pay taxes, Do people who visit the stadium by food, drinks etc, do that pay VAT tax when they buy those things or how about the vendors that sell those things do they pay taxes? and who do they pay it to? when people visit the stadium for matches do they use public transport and hotels, do the taxi drivers and hotel owners pay taxes? if they do, Who do they pay it to? Am tired of some of you guys who dont know but pretend like you know so much. |

Evestar200:Mrs, Before You Talk, Do Your calculations. the stadium has 33,000 seats. and i have gone there severally. the fans almost fill up one quater of the stadium i.e divide the seats by four which would give you about 8000 Sometimes The Fans Are 6500 Now, Multiply 8000 X 200 = 1.6m on each matchday which is enough to maintain the stadium. the stadium also make money from adverts and sponsors like aiteo, glo, dana air, etc..... don't talk anyhow about things you know nothing about, ok? uyo fans love akwa united. I Repeat i go there severally and i admit there are a lot of empty seats but at least they fill up 1/4 or 1/5 of the seats. cc ; LaudableXX |

Willexmania:Guy leave dat side, abeg. Why are you talking as if some of us have not visited the same stadium, whenever Akwa united is playing a match there? Can you swear that all those spectators that you claim fill up 1/4th of the stadium, truly paid the correct fees to get in? I know some folks who even get free complimentary tickets to enter the stadium, when Akwa United is playing, o! And that your claim of 1/4 of the stadium being filled is not totally correct. It looks like 1/6th of the stadium, or even 1/8th sef. |
