When you try to generate a vnin or the OTP for nimc app using *346, you get some kind of error. Most likely due to congestion. So I tried multiple times but same error.

To my surprise for each trial I am charged N20 even though I get an error. Imagine millions of Nigerians trying today to link their accounts to vnin and getting same error, yet mtn is making N20 multiple times on million of Nigerians for doing nothing (returning error)

Go and download the NINC app. Generating a vNIN From there is free

It even allows you link phone numbers and also see which numbers are linked to your NIN

so how about people that doesn't have browsing phone, shey MTN should keep on reaping them off? Any try #20 is gone. That's very unfortunate from the network providers

I want you to reason fingers are not equal, not everyone has access to internet and they must be considered too . You gave alternative for people that have access to internet, please kindly give alternative to those who doesn't. So that network providers won't be reaping them off in each try

I downloaded the nimc app, but there is a place where OTP is supposed to be sent, but it doesn't send, and when u press send again, a pop up advises you to dial *346*2... we are back to square one and mtn ripps you from there

Used to think I'm the only one.

This thing could be a partnership between MTN and NIMC, it's purely business and if not why MTN when they know that a bulk of the population use MTN.

Airtel are quite better though they rarely send one the vNIN in form of text message, Glo is a no go area when to comes to generating vNIN, I don't know much about 9Mobile.
