What happened to TSTV?

TSTV was never a serious a company to start with

He can't even raise that money.
The money has increased over time and when you add the fx situation.
Then the fact that dstv offers alot more than they used to them.
You can stream with multiple devices on dstv.
Tstv would have to first set up the needed infrastructure needed for all of that.

Honestly we still pay peanuts for dstv compared to what they offer.
Switch that shit to dollars and you'll see how cheap it is.
Lets not forget the power aspect.

We are not paying peanuts for DSTV; they are are banking on economies of scale and it's working for them. They don't have any competitor so they have the whole market share to themselves ; even if they reduce their prices today they will still make profit in Nigeria

Dstv prices are very cheap compared to what they offer.
We've had this conversation multiple times already.
Especially when people want them to adopt pay per view.
Well that's my belief sha
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 3:32pm On Mar 03
The man in the video is Pastor of RCCG city of David; Oniru estate Victoria Island where Hwrbert Wigwe worshipped before his untimely demise.

https://www.facebook.com/share/r/3ZgSh9LKsUrYAybm/?mibextid=xCPwDs

The ocassion was the 60th birthday of the pastor's wife on 18th February 2024. Herbert Wigwe died on 9th February 2024 and somehow the pastor and his wife went ahead to celebrate the pastor's wife's extravagant birthday 9 days after .

Below is the account of a member's opinion of who Herbert Wigwe was to them in that church .

Personally, I believe there's everything wrong with the pastor's wife's birthday party celebration. The fact that the woman was actually born in January and she postponed the party to February means she could as well have postponed it further after the tragedy of Wigwe's death.

Your believe doesn't negate the fact that DSTV is enjoying economies of scale which comes naturally to them because they don't have any viable competitor .

Let me explain it to u. MTN for example have competitors in glo and airtel and people can decide to port to those ISP's provided they are willing to live with the little inadequacies/inefficiencies of those competitors . DSTV on the other hand is the only cable TV operator that offers the service they offer and they have the whole country at their beck and call.

If there are two or more competitions for DSTV , they will always consider those ones' reaction anytime they think of an increase in price .

The same way u think what DSTV offer is cheap was the same way people thought what MTN offered was cheap until glo came and changed the game of billing. Since the year glo debuted MTN has always made profit charging lesser prices ( of course until 2023 when they made their first loss due to foreign exchange losses occasioned by the devaluation of naira )

If she postpones it, and somebody dies again before the date, wetin she for do?

Even the Access bank opened their branches the very next day after he died. They didn't even close for one day to honour Wigwe.

I think this issue may be overflogged.

The pastor is showing a serious lack of emotional intelligence imho

His church depends on the goodwill and largess of all the big name members. Even more so today when everyone is feeling the squeeze.

Nigerian big men have very big egos and if they see what they perceive as indifference to one of their own, they may not be as supportive in future.

Stoking the egos of your benefactors is very important

Lolz . U are comparing a business ( a going concern ) like access bank with a church ? Really ?

A church is like a moral compass!! Why do u think the story of Good Samaritan was emphasized in the Bible ? A priest and a Levite saw a man beaten and injured by a thief and they passed him over trying to avoid wahala . But a Samaritan who is generally not regarded as godly took it upon himself not only to tend to the injured man, took him to an inn, paid for his cost of hospitalization and even promised to pay whatever additional cost May accrue when he comes back.

There was a reason he was labelled " Good Samaritan" cos he did what was morally right at that point. He behaved better than a priest who was more like an ordained pastor and a Levite whose tribe were chosen to serve God in their works and deeds.

A lot of people will lose their faith with the act of this pastor & his family whether u believe it or not

The man no try at all. I saw video of his tribute to Wigwe a day after the helicopter crash was confirmed. He was all gloomy and emotional in the video.

One would've thought he would postpone the wife's birthday celebrations after that . I'm sure they have a list of everyone they invited to the party initially. Sending a message to them about the postponement would not have been a big deal at all; those ones would've understood especially knowing that the initial birth day was actually January and not February in the first place

Your mistake is thinking the availability of more will lead to price crashes.
It doesn't always work like that.
An example is netflix, prime, showmax, Disney+ streaming.
Have you noticed how these platforms keep increasing prices?
Nor be mtn dey declare losses? How long do you think they will maintain the price of their "cheap" services?
Don't they offer it on a large scale?

I am interested in knowing the name of the author of this article . These are the people I always issues with.

I don't have issues with IBD Dende being a smuggler who was seen assaulting a customs officer in a video that was not edited ; neither do I have issues with each and every customs officer trying to pacify him in the video knowing the kind of influence he wielded across the boarder and even to Aso rock.

However , I have issues with educated ediots like the author of that article trying to whitewash Dende's self-battered image and attempting to gaslight the public about him being victimized.

Somebody that used his own mouth to allege the customs boss is involved in smuggling ; so he should be allowed to carry out his own smuggling activities too. How do u explain tbat away ? Do these people think their audience are fools ?

U are not really making an important point here. I pointed u to the fact that MTN found a way to accommodate some of the things they considered unprofitable when glo came around. That's what happens when u have competition.

A business owner will be willing to lose some part of its over bloated profit rather than lose almost everything to a competitor with better product offering . It is what it is.

And I am telling you that the same MTN is haemorrhaging cash badly.
So it means they will soon begin to charge even more or keep selling off and streamlining to maintain which will not work after a while.
Our business environment currently doesn't leave wriggle room like it did a few years ago

His own business did not deem it fit to shut down for one minute. They opened the very next day to receive money and collect charges. Nobody is dragging them for that

But somehow, we want the Pastor's wife to be crucified for having her birthday party days after Wigwe died (How she celebrated it is a different case)

For me, this issue is just overflogged. I can understand the initial shouts, but it is starting to look like an agenda.

Access is a business entity owned by shareholders whom Wigwe is one of . Access is regulated by CBN and other government agencies .

The issue is not over flogged one bit! If the church leadership can't be empathetic over the death of a member , then the church has lost its place as the succor of a common man.

Morally the birthday party celebration was an unwise move on the part of the pastor and his family . Wigwe was even a fellow pastor o. Wigwe was not just a floor member in the church , he was a pastor .

If a church would not care about optics ; how then do they intend to win lost souls?
