RIP to this legend. I'm Yoruba, but this man made my childhood. Cracked millions of African ribs. Listed in over 200 different Nollywood films most of which he appeared to make us laugh.

He was a singer too. In 2010, he released his songs titled “This Girl” and “Do You Know” which I later grew up to know was sung by "Dede One Day" another comedy beast who is now deceased alongside Sam Loko Efe.

Everything about him was funny as hell, most especially when he tried to get serious. Always appearing being fooled and, taken advantage of. Most of his roles are unscripted yet he makes you laugh and forget your sorrows.

Rest in peace, Mr Ibu.
Rest in Peace Sisi Quadri.
It's indeed a sad week for The Nigerian Actor's Guide.

See what TRIBALISM has done to you! embarassed undecided

So a Yoruba Person cannot like Mr Ibu or Nkem Owoh or what

In the 90's, Everyone in Nigeria including IGbos like Jagua, Papi Luwe, Baba Suwe and co.

So how do you make it sound like it's Abnormal for a Yoruba Person to like IGbo entertainer

Plz, Some of you Y0rubas should purge urself of IgboPhobic Hate! embarassed sad

Hmmmm... Life is short.

May his family have the fortitude to beat his demise.

I can't forget

"Nicodemus and sons"

"Mr ibu and son"

There is one he is stealing his mother's snuff and chicken in the village.

When this man was sick , his family solicited for funds to fly him abroad but the response from the public was so low. Now he is dead, everyone is uploading status like they really missed him. No stupid Nigeria politicians should send any condolences because they honestly don’t care.

The masses donated, but I am not sure if the money was used for his treatment. There was trending news before his death that pandemonium had ensued concerning the embezzlement of the donated funds.

I only hope that his death was not a result of a lack of family unity and goodness.

On a sidenote, I pity people whom their family are more of rivals, instead of solid allies. In this sad world, your only defenses are in most cases, strong-knitted family members, otherwise, one would wander like a lost leaf from a tree.

I don't believe the response was low in my opinion.
I think the people he trusted the most failed him too.

At least we heard of how they were jostling over who takes control of the account, at the expense of the sick man.
Pitiable and shameful.

Jasmine + His son Vs His wife.

What a sad twist.

May his soul rest in peace.

Brace up for the following drama from ibus family

They wouldn't dare, considering the drama surrounding the previous donations.

Mute that ur mouth. Did any politicians show interest in his condition? Why is Atiku and Obi rushing to send condolences? Even those that don’t care while he was alive re rushing to post him now

Lol, no need arguing with an illiterate. SARAKI supported Mr. Ibu so well at the beginning of the illness.

However, NO POLITICIAN is responsible for his illness and therefore have NO OBLIGATION to take care of him when he gets sick, himself and his family are responsible for taking care of themselves. The reason they're saying their condolences is because he has made so much impact on the movies industry. It also definitely improves their political relevance.

Since this is Nairaland and bigotry is the order of the day. I think you mean no south eastern politician should show fake love seeing as how he was well helped by Bukola Saraki, a Yoruba man.

To be honest bro, it’s Igbo people that carry tribe on their head. Yorubas and Hausa have lived together peacefully for centuries, you don’t hear all this tribal bigotry as we try as much as possible to focus on the aspects that unite us. But you guys have this superiority complex as regarding your tribe which makes you think you are better than everybody else, your problem with tribalism shows it’s head when despite your superiority belief, in the real world other tribes are trouncing you. It’s you guys that are tribalist to be honest, after a while, other tribes did not have a choice but to follow.

Money was donated for his surgery but I guess the family squandered the money.

Not only that, but Mr. Ibu's adopted daughter has personalized his TikTok page to her own, and deleted any traces of Mr Ibu, as if the man never existed.

Just as we hope for good partners, we should also hope the same for our children, to avoid birthing numbers, instead of substance.

RIP Mr Ibu, I am quite sad that you were surrounded by such failures as families. Like a lion surrounded by hyenas, who he misconstrued to be a cat like him.

A tragedy indeed.
