Good day to you all.

I need your opinion on what business I can start with 500k. I have someone willing to assist me with that amount because my current job is both mentally and physically exhausting. However, the person wants me to explain how I will use the money and what business I will pursue. I have until the end of the month to provide a plan.

I was thinking of starting a printing business and also selling phone accessories since I live in a student-dominated area with a polytechnic nearby. However, I'm concerned about the potential downturn when students go on holiday, leaving the area empty. The economy is also not favorable. I'm open to suggestions. Thanks.

I have 2 suggestions for you:

1. Forex copy trading (you earn in dollars simply by copying my trades automatically)

2. Basketball tips trading

As someone already in the printing business, I would suggest you take on it.

Downturns are possible but only majorly felt when there's a prolonged strike or a lockdown like that of the COVID era.

Make a discount offer to make yourself known in the area and in peak periods like project printing season you can get back the money to pay back in case it is a loan or expand the business.

I wont discourage you from doing something else. But I will advice you to look before you leap.

Business one does not have deep knowledge about, especially in Nigeria is not encourageable. Not even without strong perception of the Nigerian market.

Investment is also very risky without the knowledge of the form of investment. And that leaves us with the last option. A form of investment as well but demands little on your part, even without knowledge. And that is REAL ESTATE.

No economy, good or bad can do without it. You dont need rocket science.
You dont depend on market trend or bull run.
You are sure of substantial return every year. You can use it to generate income for yourself.
You can use it to raise capital to launch or run your business.
It is a source of passive income.
You can buy it instalmentally(especially with a registered, licensed company with good reputation)

You have two options with this form of investment, I will recommend:

1.Buy a property, full plot or half. And let it appreciate in value over time while you work.

2. Let me use it to get(market for) more clients(buyers). On each sale, you get 5% for complete 2years.

For a fair discussion my Whatsap contact is in my signature.

Good luck!

With the above....

I don't know how much it will cost you to get a stand, but after stand,

Buy A Kyocera Printer, not hp o, KYOCERA or UTAX around 75k. They are durable and more economical to use for your black and white printings, secondly, get a coloured printer, for that you may consider a HP printer, I recommend Pro 300/400 series around 100k. A used laptop of around 80k for a start isn't bad, you may get two to not stall works when people want to use your laptop to edit, Staplers and perforating machines can be handled with 20k, you may get a pos machine to collect payments and even run a pos business when you have cash and you're good to go

I rush to the comment section to learn a few things becuase that question is apt. But, unfortunately, no meaningful comments! Is it that the money is too small or there is massive brain drain on Nairaland now?
