Morning everyone, my wife went to summit her passport and that of my two kids, I was surprised when I got a call from her requesting I transfer fundz for biometric for my two kids, they collected money for biometric that was never conducted for them. Wonderful system. Secondly the online portal for booking an appointment is not working you either have to go through DHL or the business center close to the embassy premises to book an appointment. how they did it I don't know but I paid rediculous amouth for the three passport booking. Anyways thank Goodness I have to send her in person otherwise alot of friction for come out again. |

Educhopper: That one na small issue, just inform the CIBC to refund the money, they will send to the originating account less transfer charges. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Flakeyy: 12:32pm On Mar 07 |
Educhopper: If you’re denied a visa, just inform the bank where you did the GIC and they’ll refund you. I paid my brother’s school fees for 1 year, and sent him the exact money for his living expenses to his dom account, Cos you can only send the funds through USD or CAD. Note that the money for the GIC must come from the applicant’s account and not the sponsor’s account. If the account sending the money to Canada does not bear the applicant’s name, it will be rejected and the GIC will not be done. I had extra funds in my account that showed that I could pay his flight tickets and other miscellaneous expenses, and could also cover his 2nd year fees if needed. He didn’t have any money in his naira account and he didn’t submit that. He only submitted the GIC letter and I only submitted my Statement of account and I highlighted the school fees I paid, and the money I sent to his dom account. I wrote my sponsorship letter, attached my birth certificate with his, pictures of 2 of us, and my employment letter. The money was in my savings account, so it had mostly inflows and the major outflows were the fees I paid and the money I sent for his GIC. Don’t put her remaining fees in GIC. The idea of GIC is that the bank gives the student a certain amount each month for their living expenses. If you have 20,000 there, you won’t be able to access the full amount when you get to Canada. The bank will divide that money by 12 months and say it comes out as $1600, every month they release that $1600 to you, to help pay for accommodation, feeding and transportation. If you put in her school fees, you’ll not be able to access it until after a year. If you want to use a GIC, Keep her school fees, flight ticket money and any other money in your account and only send $20,650 as the amount that will be in her GIC. 2 Likes |

Rhythmnation: I think you didn't get clearly what the money was meant for as VFS would never collect money from you outside what IRCC charges. So, it would be wrong to attack a system you are not clear of. The money could be the cost for sending and returning of your kids' passports to Abuja and back to Lagos since they didn't do biometrics. Also, the online appointment booking works fine. You probably didn't follow the right process or were unclear on how to do it. Appointment booking for submission needs you to create an account just as you did when booking biometrics. 1 Like 1 Share |

Good day, please I have a concern. I am may 2024 intake (College PGD) I and my dependents (husband and son) submitted our application Dec 28 last year. But to my surprise my dependents (husband and son) was refused one month ago, and up till this moment, there's no update on my own application (main applicant), So I'm kind of worried that why will they respond to my dependents application leaving the main applicant behind. And up till this moment there's no update. Please does it happen like that sometimes, or what could be the reason for such? Thank you as I await your responses. |

Emdee360: You need to create a profile on tracker to check the status of your application. What was the reason for refusing your spouses' application? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Emdee360: 5:30pm On Mar 07 |
Bobomaigida: We gave the application to a licensed canadian agent Here is the reason below • I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as required by paragraph 200(1)(b) of the IRPR (https://laws.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-2002-227/ section-200.html). I am refusing your application because you have not established that you will leave Canada, based on the following factors: • You do not qualify under the IMP as you provided insufficient information to demonstrate that your spouse is a full-time student in a qualifying program at a DLI in Canada. Refused under R205(c)(ii) |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Rhythmnation: 5:43pm On Mar 07 |
It would be nice if you can share the appointment link for others, the money collect was not for passport sending or delivery. they said is for biometric that was never conducted for the two kids, please I am just sharing my own experience not attacking a confused system. Nauttyprof: |

odogwu4real: Congratulations to you. Pls I need your advice on this, my Brother is the one sponsoring for my education as well. I am married and will like to go with my husband, but both of us don't have money in our accounts for POF. Is it compulsory we must have money in our accounts, even though my brother is the sponsor?? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by John39swill: 5:57pm On Mar 07 |
*you provided insufficient information to demonstrate that your spouse is a full-time student* You should have waited for the main applicants approval, it's safer that way... My thoughts though 🤔 Emdee360: |

mayrhe: That's weak economic ties for both of you planning to travel together |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Bobomaigida: 6:13pm On Mar 07 |
Emdee360: Refusal reasons like this are straight forward, the key is to get more documents that ties the student top the school and submit. But before doing that, you need to ascertain the status of your spouse's application. You request for GCMS notes on the application and create that tracker to check it. |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by John39swill: 6:24pm On Mar 07 |
Stay hopeful, the main applicant is still progressing else refusal decision would have been sent across.. Once, the main applicant is approved, maybe then you can reapply again for the dependent. Good luck 🤞 in addy Emdee360: |

From my experience, once there is a message in your portal that requires your attention, the system is coded to immediately alert you via the registered email address.. Good luck 🤞 to us all Morexx23: |

Thank you. It is advisable to show money in your account especially as you have family. Their logic is that they would not expect your brother to shoulder the cost of you and your family and also shoulder his. mayrhe: |
