Op, honestly I really feel bad for your situation. Be rest assured I will start putting you in my prayers. May I know your name so that I can mention you specifically in prayers. Even if it's just your first name alone.

Hello, I wish you a very good morning and a happier new year.
From your narrative, it's so unfortunate that I can't offer any solution; but I can give a detailed report of what might have got wrong.
*The drugs you use to treat your typhoid could have depleted your Ostman fat pad.
*The result of which led to Patulous Eustachian tube
*With Patulous Eustachian tube, gone the ability to equalise air-pressure in your middle ears hence the distortions in sounds, autophony, hyperacusis etc!
Please Note: Without actual tympanometry, all these are wild guesses!
However if you experience rapid weight loss during those ordeal, try to measure up again.

Thanks for this detailed response.

I already aligned with your thought, presently using a device courtesy of sir loffyloffy. The device has been so helpful in terms of sleeping, I rarely have sleepless nights nowadays. But the noise is still there.

I'm not doing anything again apart from that device until I see a doctor which i plan it to happen soon.

Normal hearing usually returns within a few hours to a few days. This is because the hair cells, similar to blades of grass, will bend more if the sound is louder. But they will become straight again after a recovery period.

However, if the intensity of the sound to which you were exposed was extremely high, the resulting humming sound can be permanent.

I'm ok, I was advised by a knowledgeable nairalander to take it easy until when I get funds. According to him, moving around here and there will not help my condition. The way he explained my problem to me like he was in my head convince me so I have lie low for now though not easy. Thank you

@Kpakpakpa and others, help is on the way, ensure to carefully read my entire writeup.

Please and please don't remove that Auditory nerves o. shocked shocked Regardless of the age of your tinnitus, you can still relieve the symptoms from 10-100%. Yes, all and you'll have a blissful night sleep. Mercy Johnson also made a great mistake by removing her Thyroid gland. Anything and everything on this planet can be CURED, except death. Yes! I will always stand by that!

Don't let the some of the failings of modern medicine condemn you to a life of unwanted noise.

If your tinnitus is subjective (i.e caused by noise, ear infection, drugs, or other unknown cause etc) congrats you're on your way to a swift healing.

But if it's objective that is, the Doctor or anyone else can ear it, then you may want to check for heart conditions and other issues.

Let me repeat, TINNITUS, can be CURED 100%, I'm a living testimony and others who've tried the method below.

First off, you should up your Zinc intake from both naturals and pills. For naturals, eat beef liver (one of the best superfood on the planet!), Fishes, beans, milk, egg etc. For supplements, go to a big pharmacy and ask for Zinc (50-100mg). Then take it everyday.

You know why you should take Zinc?
The ear is one of the organs with the largest concentration of Zinc in the body. Depletion of Zinc causes tinnitus, and increasing it's intake helps relieve tinnitus resulting from other means including Zinc depletion.

Also, excess Zinc would be safely disposed off by the body. This should be combined with the second method.

The second method will blow your mind off, and it's the most effective!
The answer is ONION or it's cousin, GARLIC. These two are the most potent remedy we know to fight Tinnitus and ear infections to the core.

Yes, #100 worth of onion or garlic maybe all it takes to free you from this condition forever. Don't let anyone consign you to a life of misery because they believe it's incurable.

Don't be scared. You can use this in three ways, however, before use, ask someone to check your ear drums with a flashlight, if it's not perforated, then continue; if perforated, allow it to heal for 2-3 weeks.

Method 1
1. Remove the old back, cut the onion, grate it, and squeeze the juice. Then with a teaspoon, bend and expose the affected ear upwards and put two-three drops in it, and cover it with cotton wool to retain the juice inside. It might feel cold, but your body will adjust to it. Change every 6-8 hours. Though it's best done in the night.

Method 2
2. Cut the onion in ring shapes (if its too long, you may slice in half), take one ring and insert into the ear and ensure it slightly touches the ear drum, with the other part of the ring sticking out, then go to sleep.

Method 3
3. Put the onion in a hot, dry pot, and roast for 2 mins. Thereafter, you remove from the fire. Onion gets heated easily, so you may want to use a very clean cloth. Cut in half, and wrap with a clean cloth. Then take it close to the affected ear and let the steam penetrate the ear.

Use any of the methods consistently, and your Tinnitus will go away in no time.

If you prefer garlic, I'll give you it's formula too.

For everyone suffering from Tinnitus, start the aforementioned process ASAP, and get total relief from Tinnitus. Tried and tested by me and others.

ALSO: If your work does not demand for earpiece, please do away with it during this period, and 2 more weeks after the treatment. It'll be worth it at the end. In addition, don't forget to come update this thread thereafter.

Truly insightful

Having reading all through, I just want to thank God that my hearing loss didn't let me have tinnitus. Reading all these made me feel that my condition is better.
I have total loss of hearing in my left ear and in my right ear is partial loss of hearing. I had them since I was a baby due to a crack doctor that falsely discharged me with complete treatment of chicken pot. My parents were very afraid that I was completely deaf as I could not speak a word till I was 7 years old. My childhood experience was very bad. I had difficulty speaking, intonation and pronunciation. Let me not bore with you story, I tried using hearing aids, it helps but come with discomfort and it been 6 years I used last cos it got spoiled and couldn't afford to buy another one yet.

I'm just grateful that I'm still hearing a little and I don't have tinnitus despite heavy loss of hearing.

I plan to do cochlear implant by God's grace.

@ OP
The only advice I can give you is to 100% ignore any medical recommendations or treatments especially if it includes going on some type of medication. There is no medical school teaching doctors how to treat tinnitus. Tinnitus has no cure. While some people have been able to reduce it significantly or overcome it completely, there is still no evidence of a cure or a set of steps that can be meaningfully replicated. I live abroad and suffer from this too (tinnitus likely caused by hearing loss). Doctors have no clue and either tell you to deal with it or want to recommend antidepressants. Sorry
