Abductions, kidnappings, etc have become a recurring decimal and the stark reality of the present security situation in the country. This is not the first time and there's no likelihood that it would be the last time. Terrorism like corruption has become a way of life, as it were. The implication of this Hobbesian state of nature is that the much sought-after foreign investors would continue to turn their backs on the country. No foreign investor would be foolhardy to invest in a country where terror reigns supreme. Nothing tangible would be achieved from the economic policies and programmes of this Government if it doesn't first and foremost tackle the threat of the general insecurity in the country. The Tinubu administration must address the issue of insecurity squarely and make sure it wrestles it to the ground if anything tangible can be achieved by his seemingly inept administration. @hotseat |

I implore the president to ignore these people and focus on the economy. Let him pay daft attention to this lucrative enterprise and never allow these people to mess him up with this like Jonathan. |

They know where the women are, but they are not going to rescue them because if they do, all those women would be dead before the army reaches them. The problem with kidnapping in NIgeria is simple. It became a national institution when we decided to pay the kidnappers. Because the alternative means people would die, and guess who would be blamed...the government. It is why GEJ did not go in and rescue the Chibok girls. I know people would hate me , but until we are ready to accept that our loved ones have to die for the freedom of some kidnappees, and for an end to kidnapping, kidnapping is going to continue and continue. See Russia. KIdnapping used to be the norm, until the Russians went all in. Remember the theater incident in Moscow, where they passed poison gas to put everyone including the kidnappers to sleep, and then went in and killed all the kidnappers? Some hostages died, and it was sad, but most got rescued. MOST GOT RESCUED. NIgerians want all their loved ones back. SO, pay ransom is what we do. We better learn from the English . 1000 Years ago, the English were paying gold in large quantities to the Danes so that them danes would stop invading them. IT DID NOT WORK. The danes ended up running England directly...until they drained the country. We better stop paying those jokers. Yes, some people would die, but if we keep paying them, they are going to continue. 2 Likes |

nabiz: Shut up there, instead of you to advise your druggie master to tackle the insecurity in Nigeria, you are there playing stupid politics with innocent people's lives. Chameleon, all these sudden love for Jonathan, just to defend your clueless president. |
