Even in "saner climes", roads do spoil. But the issue with Nigeria and her leaders are lack of maintenance culture from successive govts.

In physics there's "wear and tear". Even in Biology their is life and death. Nothing lasts forever. As a human, if you want to live long, you stay healthy and do checkup once in a while. So stop seeing all these foreign construction companies as alpha and Omega.

There's even a road constructed by JB in my state and the road turned into shreds. They had to send a team to come repair and maintain the road.

I know of a road in my former street that has lasted for more than 20 years and still new. Infact people see that street as GRA because of how neat and lasting the road is. How was this achieved?

The residents do not joke with the gutters of the road. Every weekend, they come out to clear the gutters to avoid water logging on the road. The local company that even constructed the road has packed up more than 5 years ago. After the death of the owner.

Most local contractors who are capable of doing the work are frustrated by govt bureaucracy and civil service

It is not uncommon to have a civil servant ask to share 50/50 with the trained engineer who wants to recover the money he has expended on the project

At the end of the day, many of the honest engineers doing govt contracts die of stroke or high bp because of the bottlenecks to collect money due to them.

Soludo go and learn from Alex Otti and stop tongue-lashing your Commissioner in public. You are expecting a quality work for how much?
