Good day all, I applied to the University of Guelph, project management which was stated on the program website as a one year program, my admission letter come in few weeks ago and it says it's a 24month program. My question is I'm I to show POF for two years or how do I go about it. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Bobomaigida: 8:19pm On Mar 10 |
Feliwalt12: You need to show - First year tuition - A year's living expenses equal to $20,635 - Return Flight Tickets cost - Small change Then sources to raise the funds for subsequent year(s) of study 2 Likes |

zubizareta:good day mr zubizareta. thank you for the good work you are doing here. Please I want to ask that can someone who has paid the full first semester fee of 10k in a program of 1year with only about 1k plus remaining for the second semester and have around 19k CAD for POF but will elucidate in its letter of explanation that he has future economic benefit from his salary at his place of work that would amount to about 8m naira from the date of application to the end of the program. Note the person is self sponsoring himself and have a job in Nigeria. Also the person will be granted a paid study leave at work since the program is 1yr. thank you |

It is not compulsory but for the sake of clarity, because a sponsor shows SOA doesn't mean the closing balance will be used to sponsor the applicant. Daveconsult007: 1 Like |

Hello, what is the best suggestion for a course for PGD with a profile of 1. Work experience in the Business Sector and also 2. Part-Time Graduate Assistant in the biological science sector whose preferred course is to stay on the biology path as it is the background course. main reason is for it not to affect visa decision. Kindly help give your insight |

Greetings. IRCC requested for my medical on the 24th February. I uploaded it and today it shows updated (Medical exam passed). Eligible and background check is still on process. I’m worried and curious. Who has been in my shoes before? |

Lance008: There is no visa interview. I want to belive you are asking if you can get back your funds after your visa approval? You can only have access to your GIC on two conditions. 1. If your application is successful, you will have access to those funds only when you have arrived Canada and the funds will be disbursed according to the instruction letter. It will be disbursed in batches. 2. If your application is unsuccessful and you wish not to continue. You inform them and attach evidence of refusal. They process it and return the funds to the originating dom acct where it was paid. Mind you, they will deduct some administrative fees. About 200cad or there about. 1 Like |

Daveconsult007: I wouldn't bother to state any amount as long as I have successfully demonstrated the sponsor ability and capabilities to be a sponsor by either paying for the tuition deposit from the sponsor acct and possibly sending some of the funds in the applicant's acct or even the GIC done. Also relationship btw sponsor and applicant duly shown. |

Hello All, I need urgent clarification. I was recently denied a study visa for a May resumption for a post graduate diploma in Business Management at Victoria community college, BC on the basis of proof of funds and home ties. My tuition is fee is CAD 23,300 per year Living expenses is CAD 20, 635 per year For proof of funds I had submitted - evidence of tuition deposit paid CAD 10,750 - a sworn affidavit of sponsorship from my parents - fixed deposit investment statement of 20 Million Naira -Mother's closing bank statement of 10 Million Naira -parent property valuation report of 90 Million Naira For my new submission I am thinking of having my parents transfer total tuition remainder + 1 year living expenses to my personal account, but the problem is my personal account has been dormant for about a year now. As I have a May resumption, if they make the lump transfer to my account, what can i do to justify the transfer and support the application ? For home ties, I plan to use documents from my land properties, company cac registration , family pictures to support my new submission. In what other ways can i support my application ? |

Cjnick:Everybody that got visa approved has been on your shoes.. Your application will still undergo final review after medical request and medical passed...to make sure that you are eligible for the program that you applied..when they finish they will send a message ... As for background check it will be updated..it has finished before medical request... |

Hello guys, I need some clarification about the process of getting admission and funding in Canada. I've read this some threads way back and all I've been seeing are people paying their tuition or having someone or company pay their tuition for them. For people that are not privileged to have these, does that mean they can't come to Canada? I know the process for US student visa and funding is: Get your documents (transcripts, CV, standardized tests) ready Apply to a school for a program and also GA/TA/RA Gain admission and funding Go for visa interview and, Japa. But for Canada, do Canadian schools not give funding (tuition, living expenses and all)? Because from the what I have read on this thread, I haven't seen anyone talk about funding from school. Is that something that doesn't happen? For the US, you can secure admission and funding from here in Nigeria by application. Is it something that doesn't happen with Canada too? Can someone help elaborate on this. Please. Thank you. 1 Like |

I appreciate everyone for making this platform interactive. I received my student Visa in 2023 for study in August, 2024. Please, i have some concerns: 1. What is to be shown as proof of living expenses at the canadian border for issuance of study permit? Is it account summary certificate that will be needed or account statement (if yes, how many months account statement is to be printed)? 2. Will i have to show the new living expenses of 20,000 CAD or the previous one of 10,000 CAD since my visa was approved before the change in 2023? 3. My husband is my sponsor, and the source of living expenses is in his account. Do i need to transfer it into my account, or the whole amount can remain in his account while i show his printed account statement at the border and hold cash? Please, can anyone help with answers. thank you as you assist. 1 Like 1 Share |

I think it's best you write them again and expect a positive reply on what next. If you are not selected for admission, you might try some other school. Shalom!!! kamaladejoke: |
