I was there yesterday na hausa guys do this rubbish, the person they shot was one of their fellow hausa criminal. They used that as an excuse to start destroying people's cars and burning people's shops.
one of the very good reason why this country needs to go it's separate ways, what the offense of those cars and shops owners. Pure hatered. You do not attack the police nor police facility but innocent shops owners and even the customers cars. This will tell you if crisis break out in Abuja tomorrow, they already had thier plans to start attacking others

So police shot a convict that allegded tried to escape, then traders set their own market on fire??
Going by the area that was razed down by the fire, AMML office was among it. So, I guess office of AMML was the target and spread to other areas from there

That man who was prosecuted and convicted then made attempt to flee is the root cause of the problem. If that security officer had not intervened, it is that security officer that will be severely punished. He will be sacked, prosecuted and jailed in place of that escaped convict.
The security officer could have used a rubber bullet though.

Rubber bullet in 9ja ?

No bi only rubber bullet
Ee for used plastic bullet ni cheesy

You are right and also it wasn't the shop owners but the hausa boys that went on rampage destroying everything in their path after one of their own was shot.

Will rubber bullet deter them traders from aiding his escape as they have desired? The traders involved should be arrested and jailed for Arson. That is called lawlessness and conspiracy to commit arson . You can't be destroying public properties all in the name of your colleague was shot. Why not apprehend him and hand him over to the court .

How can an abuja environmental protection board mobile court prosecute and convict a man for peeing on a wall to send him to prison? You are sending someone to prison for urinating on the wall? What happen to a stern warning or a fine on the spot?

While the police could have applied some restraint and run to capture the criminal without lethal force , those criminals found on that side of the country are very violent . I can guarantee you they didn’t burn the gold section . They would have targeted the shops of other people . Now I understand why the COAS attacked those idiots for El zakzaky. Very violent , uneducated , poverty stricken, useless bunch . And to think that they are fasting

Trigger Happy officers. These are things they do in the South and get away with. The Northerners will always retaliate.
The police officer did the right thing. It is the people that are lawless and stupid. The officer shot to apprehend and not to kill which he achieved.

The traders there are all cowards. So they just allow some touts to burn their business even some people's cars.

Let them continue allowing them to as they like.
