Please I need kind advice on the visit visa application my mum. I have filled everything about trip and I have also noted I will sponsor her trip with 2500 GPB.

In the section about her trip, I put 20k NGN as the money she will spend as she’s unemployed. I want to ask if it’s important to submit her statement of account or just leave it out cos she took about 135k out last month and might raise concerns. Note: her previous application was rejected due to the statement issue not having any credit during the period we used.

I don’t own any properties except my car. In my opinion, the only proof of home times I currently have is my employment and somewhat decent financial situation.

What else do you suggest I could use to show the ECO I have every intention of coming back? I’m thinking of getting a letter from my church to say that I’m a worker, and that I’ll be coming back to the church. But I don’t know if that will help at all.

In the last 10 years, I’ve been to about 8 countries, including the US. But I don’t know if that will help in lieu of strong home ties.

Any suggestions?

That's not strong home ties. That's good travel history. Thats a big plus that you've been to alot of countries especially the USA.

The home ties come to play when you disclose the nature of your job to them, how much you earn, your disposable income in every month and the reason why you can't possibly leave your work to go and overstay in the UK.


I just hope you don't intend to leave that 11 million sitting in that account and expect red carpet to roll out for you from the ECO Cos you'll be in for a rude awakening when the time difference between when you started your current job that pays you and now cannot be able to account for that sum of money.

I’ve been working for the same company for five years, and I’ve been in my current position for about a year. I have no lump sums or additional credits to my account except my salary. So I don’t think the ECO should have any issues with my finances or how the money was accumulated. I’m more worried I’ll get denied over ties to Nigeria.

Pls I need an advice, my salaries in the past 6 months has not been consistent that is, it has been increasing with some fractions like 10k and above. I am applying for a visitors visa, what figure should I put as salary? Since the are all different Secondly, I had a France visa refusal with I have stated in my application. should I attach my refusal letter in my checklist of documents that I am submitting? Or there is no need.

1. You can put an average and address/mention this in the additional information part of the form as you have done here

Omoh you must have a good reason why you are sponsoring her to the UK instead of her using her money.

Today we received her passport back.

I went to his house over the weekend and we were talking about it and he showed me the bank statement he used, I was shocked, his opening balance was N874,472 and the closing balance was about N5.2M.
He said he didn’t explain the transaction in it, but what I observed was that he really had a lot of transactions, there’s no ECO that would see that history and doubt if he doesn’t have access to that funds..he will be visiting for the Easter season. My cousin doesn’t know anything about travels, he doesn’t have any travel history, just his job, not married. But for me I think it was his rich financial life that made it.

I want to apply for a visitors visa later this year, right now I have about NGN 8.1M in my bank, i get paid well. I also have other source of income, I have 3 buses that pay me weekly and every month the tenants in my late dad’s house also send me their rent.
So I want to know how do I make this understandable to the ECO that I make money from those buses and rent, if I need to explain it on my financial cover letters. I’ve been to few African countries. Please if someone can elucidate more thank you.
