In 1975, minimum wage was like 80 naira a month, so that Peugeot you are looking at was beyond the reach of average Nigerians.

Back then things were hard, and food was costly, especially meat.

Back then we ate one or two small pieces of meat with the rice. Nothing like ‘assorted’ back then.
That's a lie. I know many average civil servants who owned the 504.
Mind you, they were brought new and not tokunbo. In fact, tokunbo was not heard of then

Did you ever have brain?
If you did you would know that is not possible for hausa and yoruba to vote massively for Tinubu and expect Obi to win.
It's called common sense🧠

Balablu built Lagos, set up governors and crowned Agberos and Obas.

Yet, he lost Lagos to Obi, lost Abuja to Obi, lost all polling units in the barracks, government houses and virtually everywhere rigging was impossible to Obi.

He even lost Aso Rock to Obi.

Balablu got massive votes in your dreams.

The salary of a professor was not up to 2k in 1975. So you can see the progression! Don't just compare the price of goods, also compare the earning power at the time. You will see that it's still the same as today. I can remember vividly in 1979, I try saving N20, I couldn't do it in 3 months. That's to tell you how difficult it was to get money then. If it were easy, you father would have bought all the land and own all the estates in Onitsha.

This tread is a complete misleading, when peugeot was launched in Nigeria the u it price was never 1500, the mid-1970s a Peugeot 504 GR cost 4,200 naira; Volkswagen Beetle cost 3,500, and this is more than annual salary of a banker then, also how many cars are found in the street of our town, also note that Agriculture is our main work, and earned more fro.m it, but today is different, we arr saku saku generation where a lazy mindset, religious enterprises and lutocracy made us to be poor.

Wrong price, My T.fare from Ojota to Zuba 1998 was N150, so loaf of bread in 1998 cannot be 200. As at 2012, 2013 chunkies and Eco bakery sell their biggest loaf for 200, 250. Butterfield was about 250. I doubt if mama Anayo biggest loaf was up to 50 Kobo in 1978. i used to share 20kobo bread with my bother then. cool grin grin grin

for real

Loaf of bread in 1998 was between N10 to N50 if I am correct.

You must be buying yours in Uk. In 2014, I was still in Abuja and that loaf sells for N200. In 2016 I was in Maiduguri and I remember vividly that we used to drive to Oasis Bakery and buy their delicious coconut bread af that size for N400 and the plain slice sells for 350 while, the one at produced by Sidis bakery sales for N350 for coconut bread and N300 for plain loaf.

Perpetual inflation. That is where Nigeria is permanently locked in. 20yrs from now a loaf of bread might be sold for 50k with the way our naira is collapsing.

Peugeot 504 was never at any time sold for N1,500.

The starting price of a VW beetle around that time was N4,000.

Must it be Atiku? By the way, even if Obi and Atiku ran a joint ticket, Tinubu would still have been declared the winner by INEC.

A person earning the minimum wage in Nigeria can easily buy that new car back then, today, can a person earning the minimum wage buy a toyota corolla 2015? I don't even want to talk about toyota corolla 2024.

Even a brand new 2023 made in Nigeria GAC, cost at least fifteen million naira.

In 1976, a person earning a minimum wage can buy that made in Nigeria new car after working for less than 24 month.

Even a brand new innoson car is going to be at least, 9 million
