A001... I have a question, please. Something to do with Yoruba etymology.

Would you not mind my asking, and will be willing to respond?
Yes, if I know it.

Bible stories are mostly garbage.

However, I think AI tech is developing at an alarming (scary) rate. EU recently signed the AI Act to regulate the development and use of AI technologies in the region.

There'll be no cause for alarm once AI scientists and engineers don't model AI systems using star dust and other organic matter that can support life after the human brain.

If they do, then the systems could become a living thing and such could create big problems due to the fact Consciousness Science is still in its infancy in mainstream science.

I’ve not been to Anambra since he became governor but some of the roads he’s building… I know them and he’s smart for it.
So many single lane roads are being upgraded to two lanes…. I used to ask why they were single lanes back then.

You’ll see a lot of people insulting him online though…. 10 years later, we will see those screenshots that he didn’t do anything grin

......that's why I said Politics is local. Gov. Soludo ain't care about SM Rating. He is winning hearts of Anambrans at home, not Noisemakers online.

I am not even sure he is borrowing to do the projects. He is prudent and obviously showing how a true Technocrat should lead.

I have been a big fan of him since day 1, and I am happy he is not disappointing. Picked interest in Otti but his first Budget turn me off. LOL!

It's a possibility, though not probable.

Some whites are also talking about humans merging with machine (AI) moving away from carbon-based lifeforms to silicon-based lifeforms.

I don't like the idea.

Any research that involves human life (consciousness) needs to be done with extreme caution.

Fortunately, different bodies made up of researchers of Consciousness Science have started springing up in Europe.

Examples are the Mediterranean Society for the Study of Consciousness (MESEC), the Association for Mathematical Consciousness Science (AMCS), and others.

Advances in Consciousness Science are needed to address potential ethical issues that the rapid rate of AI development might bring.

Lol, many inventions and advances today were not thought possible now till several geniuses took it upon themselves to bring the light so I'll believe any thing is possible but I agree with you that it doesn't look probable for the mean time. Our own designs as humans that is flawed then we bringing that in form of consciousness via AI that will just seem to perform tasks and do what it wants to do with requiring probably huge resistance to stop it. May we not create what will consume us.

I didn't say it can't be done. What I'm saying I don't think it will be done because unless a deep understanding of consciousness is reached, a living AI system is highly dangerous for now.

And I really really wanted to ask it. If I remember it sha.

My other question is about the Yoruba words "otito/ododo" for truth. Like why do we have two words for it? Do you know how they came to be? Is there any linguistic difference between them? Or is it like a synonym thing, like in English, where you have one word and there are like two, three or ten other synonyms for it?

Dem say make baba bring proof , he say make Obasanjo deny am ..... grin

This is why they say it's not every elder u take advise from; fooolish people grow old too.

Edited: Onasanjo has even responded to them. The video is a 2020 interview Adebutu man had and Obasanjo already addressed it in same 2020

Adefuye had in an interview with a national daily said among other things, “Some people may argue that what about Obasanjo? Obasanjo is not a Yoruba man. He is an Igbo man from the South-East. His father was from Anambra while his mother was a Yoruba woman. And that was why during his tenure, he completely ignored the South-West. For example, throughout his eight years, he did nothing on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.”

Some Yoruba leaders had in 2007 also alleged that Obasanjo’s biological father was not a Yoruba man.

According to them, his father was Onyekwelu from Onitsha in Anambra State and so, his reign as President between 1999 and 2007 should be viewed as an Igbo reign.

But Obasanjo in the 675-page book described himself as a thorough-bred Yoruba man.

He said, “To be a Nigerian, I have to be born somewhere in Nigeria or be of Nigeria parentage or one must naturalise. If the other can hide their identity, I cannot, because my two parents were from Owu in Abeokuta. And you cannot be more Yoruba than an Owu man as the first child and daughter of Oduduwa, the father of Yorubas was the mother of all Owus. What is more, I bear Owu tribal marks. And better or worse still, I speak English with my Owu dialect.

I have always maintained and felt proud of my Owuness, Yorubaness and Nigerianess in that order. They are all part of my cherished identity. But I always refused and will always refuse to be constrained, diminished or reduced to the level of Yoruba leadership. Without being immodest, I am a national leader, an African leader and a world leader in my own way.

“If a Yoruba meeting is called on an important issue of concern to the Yorubas and I am invited. I will go but will not sit on the high table unless I joined in convening the meeting. But I would expect that a seat on the high table would be reserved for me if such a meeting is a national meeting.

There are Yorubas of the mentality that if they cannot permanently rule Nigeria, then Nigeria should be broken up in the euphemism of confederacy. They would rather be rulers in hell, if they cannot be rulers in heaven. They are mainly those who see themselves as heirs apparent to (Chief Obafemi) Awolowo. I neither share their philosophy nor their mindset. Some of them contributed to putting Bola Tinubu in power and in spite of largesse of houses in Victoria Island built for them by Bola; they turned against him when the flow of largesses started to dry up.

“They are the same people who claimed that I denied being a Yoruba man. I am more Yoruba than all of them. The Ijebus among them must be reminded that the Awujale asserted that they are not from Ife, the cradle of Yorubas but from Wadia. Those who are crying more than the bereaved like Olaniwun Ajayi and Femi Okurounmu are self-centered and lack integrity.

“When there was need. In the interest of justices and fairness, to speak or act on behalf of the Yorubas, I have done so but not against overall Nigeria interest or against the interest of any other group for that matter. I have also spoken out or stood up for other groups or communities of the interest of justices and fairness. But on no account will the interest and integrity of Nigeria be sacrificed.”

Obasanjo further said he rejected a request by two senior Yoruba retired soldiers to lead the Western Region out of Nigeria, which would be similar to what the late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu tried to do for the South-East and failed.

“In the confusion of the post second coup in 1966 and early 1967, I joined the senior Yoruba officers in the military to present our positions to Yakubu Gowon, in the interest of the nation and of the West. When, during the Abacha era and before I was arrested, two senior retired Yoruba officers, a Navy and Army officers called on me at my farm to lead the West out of Nigeria, I did not take it kindly with their request.”

“I said, “God’s judgment in me if I ever do what will be swift and decisive; He would ask those who died as a result of my fighting for the unification of Nigeria to line up and hold one hand and those that will die fighting for the West to secede from Nigeria to line up and hold the other hand and pull me until I will be cut into two.”

I don't think there's any difference between both. It depends on your dialect and the context (situation) of usage.

About why we've two words for it. Honestly, I don't know for sure.

You know most of these words in different Yoruba dialects were formed by past humans such as Orunmila, Ifa, Osun, Oya, and the likes long, long ago and passed down to the present generation.

So, I think it boils down to the subjective aspect of language: When two people see a certain aspect of nature, the way they'd develop words to communicate or express what they saw won't exactly be the same.

Even the same person can get inspiration to construct a word to describe a certain aspect of nature today.

Tomorrow, when they see or remembered that same aspect perhaps in a different context or location or situation, they might get inspiration to express it in a slightly different way.

All these languages come to people (via dreams, meditations, and the likes) from the inner world/inner universe, which exists in the brain.

Personally, I can also construct a language if I see the need because I've studied a lot of languages and know the history of how languages were built.

But I don't see it as a rewarding venture at this specific human era, so I'm mostly invested in developing a mathematical language and programming language for now as a physicist.

Scientific languages (codes, equations, formulas) are what's selling now in the modern world, not human languages (conlangs, constructed languages).

There were eras in the past that human language construction/invention was also the hotcake, but today it's not as we've so many of them already.

However, in the future when science advances to a high level and scientists start exploring other planets for terraforming programs aimed at transforming other planets to Earth, new languages will be needed on those new planets, just like the past humans (those worshipped as gods/goddesses now) had done in the past human eras when they settled on Earth.

The video in the above link about the difference between Yoruba language and Lucumi language of Cubans highlights what I just explained in the earlier post.

The evolution of all these synonyms (and dialects) in Yoruba languages and other languages generally depends on the nature of inner structures of a person's bodily organs (such as their brain, voice box, tongue), essentially their physiology and genetics.

The subjectivity observed in the formation of different synonyms to express or communicate the same (or almost the same) message boils down to differences in the genetic and physiological makeup of humans (language speakers), especially as regards their brain structure, lungs (voice box, and others) structure, tongue structure.

Like you said in older posts, there are multiple civil servants in the chain whose main objective is to sabotage the admin.

Now that I mention it, I remember that sowore said that when Atiku was VP, Atiku was constantly leaking info to him. Maybe after all these years Atiku still has a network of leakers in the upper echelons of the civil service.
